Something interesting for all you motorcycle fans...

    MTBUTknievel_susan.jpg

in Butte, I've never been there, but I know where it is.
there is also some museum in an old brothel with some of his stuff too

Ha, yeah, I was thinking about stealing my brother's Harley for the trip ... :shh:

Somehow, I don't think he would appreciate that, though!

    none in IL either...or Ohio....

in Ohio it's ok to go lidless if you are over 18 and have had your license for at least 1 year....at least that was the case when i got mine.

not sure the IL rules, but i see bucketless people all the time.

that said, i wore one 95% of the time.

they'll pull you over in canada in under 2 miles. :fp:

soooo...what's the plan if a rumored second show happens on monday

i have no problem taking an extra day on the way back...or leaving for MT a day later....although i would prefer a litte more of a leisurly pace on the way out.

i understand not everyone has the same flexability.

    22 miles from I90....

might be a good area to stop for the night on the way out....check out mount rushmore in the AM and then cruise onto Butte or Missoula

too bad you aren't going to Idaho. Right before you get there, there is "Lincoln's Famous $50,000 Silver Dollar Bar"

The first time I went to MT, it was the $10,000 Silver Dollar Bar...now they have over $50,000 all mounted on the walls, and in the bar itself. A cheezy tourist stop, but kinda cool you're standing among $50k in silver dollars. I almost always stop there.

speed limit is 75mph in Montana too, if I remember correctly.

There are a few of us coming from AB, planning to camp. Are you guys thinking about camping at the Missoula KOA, or just on your stopover?

i'm going to Idaho.....if only to get across the border for 5 minutes to knock it off my states visited list.

yeah, I was looking thru the UM website and saw that. :(

Should we organize an 'official' pre-party/tailgate?

this sucks, because a certain 'someone' is saying "well, I'm not sure if we will get to Missoula on Saturday, we have to see what happens"

I HATE "we'll see what happens" Mr. 'I never make plans, or stick to them'
maybe I should have one of you guys swing by Butte and 'kidnap' me for Saturday night, and he can drive in on Sunday by himself.

EXTREMELY TEMPTING!!! My ass will hurt, but it seems like it could be a great ride! Plus, my +1 would be driving so I won't have to carry a lot of stuff.
