Saw Gaslight on Monday night open for Rise Against in Vegas, it was a great show! First time I've seen them live and honestly I feel like they are going to be HUGE. They didn't do a PJ cover, probably considering the crowd they did a Nirvana cover. We were able to watch from the stage because my friend is close with Tim from Rise Against. Some pics:

I still haven't bought tickets to their Toronto show, but I've been listening to them more and more, and they're sounding real effing good to me. Your review definitely has made me even more antsy to see them.

Debating if I should join the fan club or not...anyone know if the ticket system is based off of your club number? Because I don't think there is a pressing need for me to join but If it does I would do sooner rather than later

Will be there too. Going to NYC1 as well. Can't wait to see them play a real show. These short festival and opening sets are getting old! Need some solid 2:30 sets!

From what I've read Brian doesn't want tix to be based on seniority which sucks because my number is 3xx

There is a rumor that we are going to be releasing a few NEW
songs as part of a special 10" vinyl for Record Store Day, which
occurs on November 23rd, also known as 'Black Friday' (the day after
Thanksgiving in the US which is the biggest shopping day of the
year). Watch this space for more details soon!
Hopefully I will be back home by then so I can get up early as hell and drive to Seaside FL for RSD haha
Excited to see them in DC in December..will be my first Gaslight show!

I'm tempted, because I'm not entirely sure if I will be home by then or not. If I am, who's to say my record store will even have this one. Decisions, decisions haha
Gaslight Anthem were absolutely stunning at the Brixton Academy last night. 3rd time I've seen them and they are really at their peak right now. No SOLAT cover though lol :(

He's well worth going to see on his own, not quite worth the price of a ticket as he only gets half an hour. Blood Red Shoes were at best what you could describe as noise. Truly awful.
Gaslight were awesome. dottles and I got to see the soundcheck too, which was pretty special. Weird being in such a small crowd (10) in such a huge room as Brixton. They ran through 5 songs (45, Queen Of Lower Chelsea, Diamond Church Street Choir, Desire (not played in the set that night) and Changing Of The Guards.
I went along last night to Manchester - some thoughts:
Dave Hause was amazing. I had never heard him before last night, but he was great... Anyone able to recommend any of his stuff for me? Not sure of his setlist, so would be hard to pick an album up myself.
Blood Red Shoes were ok, but were the wrong band to support TGA. Completely different style. Crowd (as with Glen Hansard supporting EV) were really disrespecful & spoke through their set.
TGA were very good. Minor niggles... Brian seemed (to me, at least) bored through most of the set until Great Expectations & the encore. A very different band to the one I saw 2 years ago, they seem a lot more serious now!! Maybe they don't need the charm now that they've made it.
Also, TGA were REALLY LOUD!! And I mean really. I was up in the circle, and everyone around me were covering their ears for a lot of it. I had earplugs in, but still have ringing. Sometimes it was unbearable & Brian was really hard to hear for many of the songs (Funnily enough, it seemed to be just the Handwritten tracks the sound was best on...)
Overall though, great night, great show, great band. Just hoping my ears recover......
Highlights - Here Comes My Man, Queen of Lower Chelsea, Changing of the Guards.
One funny side-story... Girl sitting next to me was abandoned by her boyfriend half-way through the show, as he went away to the bar with his friend. She then proceeded to try to "get my attention" for the other half... Sorry dear, talking at gigs is a no-no for me... I felt bad, but she was obviously miffed I wasn't giving her attention, and so appeared to sulk WITH ME during the encore. I see now why her boyfriend abandoned her... Women!!! ;-)
Thanks for the review, DavieB! I've been meaning to try earplugs at a concert for some time now, and if what you say is true, this might be a good time to start. Dave Hause sounds good, but sadly won't be opening the show I'm attending.
And I'm with you on the whole not-talking-through-a-show thing. I absolutely hate people talking through a concert. I like to be able to hear a show uninterrupted from inane blabbering; sure, a comment every now and then is alright, but so long as it's not detracting from the show.
I was also at the Brixton show on wednesday, had a wicked time. Dave Hause was very impressive, I'll definitely be checking out some of his stuff. Unfortunately Blood Red Shoes were boring as hell, nobody likes a singing drummer!

This summer, I went to see Tom Petty, PJ x 2 and then Springsteen in a single week... After PJ night 1, I had a ringing in my left ear, and it's never really gone away. So, because my other option is to stop going to gigs, I had to try them out! They definitely work, though as I said, it was so loud at points, it was deafening, and I now have ringing in my right ear!!! Really hoping this subsides though, and that it's just the usual "day after" ringing, and I'm just being paranoid!
Shame that Dave Hause isn't playing at the show you're going to, he was very impressive. As a newbie to him, I had thought he sounded like "an American Joe Strummer"... Then, during his last song, he launched into "Coma Girl", by Strummer himself! He also sang a few lines about Joe Strummer... would be keen to find out the name of this song, I'm sure I can Google it.
The girl next to me was just determined to have a full blown conversation... "Where are you from? Why are you here? What's it like in Scotland...? Do you think I should go to Scotland...?" so I missed a speech from Brian (and hopefully didn't disturb the people behind me too much!) So yeah, a few comments are fine, but not a conversation!!

Dave's solo album, Resolutions, is probably a good spot to start. He's also in a punk band called the Loved Ones that's more or less on hiatus right now. I'm sure he played a few songs of their songs as well. They only have 2 albums and a couple EPs. As for the albums, I prefer Keep Your Heart to Build & Burn but they're both quite good. Dave writes some really great songs. I've been lucky enough to see him a 5-6 times, both solo and with the Loved Ones opening for Gaslight back in 2009.

I wasn't there but I'm guessing this was 100k -> Coma Girl (Joe Strummer) -> Constructive Summer (The Hold Steady) -> 100k. There are a couple nice videos of that on Youtube.
It will be when they become the NEXT biggest band in the world!!! I'm feeling these guys are gonna be a great American R&R band with a HUGE following....
So I signed up for the fan club as well. All I received was an email with a receipt for it. I know they send out packages and you get a membership card and other stuff as well. How else does the fan club work? Do they have a forum or anything else? When I click on the 45 RPM Club link it takes me to the infinitemerch site to purchase the membership.
