  • My uncle was a reporter for the Boston Record American.
I think it was 1968. He was able to get me on the Minn Twins team bus after the game.
I was 10. I had a seat on the bus as the players filed in. I remember they were drinking and swearing.
One player said "get this punk out of here". Chico Cardenas then said "no let the little boy sit there ".
Who was the very famous HR hitter that wanted me off the bus ? :corn:

Did Harmon Killebrew want the little punk off the bus?
Yes. I wonder if he went 0 for 5 that night

Let me guess... you haven't bought his Mitchell & Ness 'retro' jersey?
    "My brain's a good brain!"
  • Maybe I will buy Harmon's shirt and use it as an effigy on top of a bon fire

Kimbrell? Still active but he and Chapman always lead the league and should have enough time in to count on the list.

    Here is a good one...

Since they started giving out the Cy Young Award(1956? 1957?)

Name the only pitcher to win 25 games, in 3 different seasons...
Yet he did NOT win the Cy Young Award in any of those 3 years.

Name the only pitcher to lead both the National and American Leagues in shutouts.

    In the SAME YEAR.

Wow. That's gotta be someone recent in an era in which two shutouts could actually do it. My first reaction was Randy Johnson...so I went to his stats (http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/j/johnsra05.shtml)

Looks like in 1998 he had 9 AL wins and 10 NL wins. Two and four shutouts.

Is that "cheating"...had I not looked, I'd have guessed him (but I did go to to the stats to see whether he had any viable AL/NL seasons.
