Samjam: thx for link 8-) .

Had a chance last night to watch SNL performance for first time....these guys get gettin' better and better!! An awesome performance. Brittany not only rocked the vocals but the guitar as well. She seemed more subdued at times and sassier than usual which, IMHO, added freshness to the songs (not that they needed any).

Same here. I've got decent seats for their show in Mobile, AL on December 8th. Should be another great show. It will be nice to see them in a headlining gig, since the first two times I saw them was when they opened for Jack White at The Ryman.
  • seeing them tomorrow night...just checking out the opening act, Clear Plastic Masks now...these dudes JAM!

How was the show last night? I'm curious about the openers as well. I am about to leave soon for the show in Mobile tonight.

I do still have an extra ticket tonight too if anyone in the area is interested.

Sorry I didnt see your response sooner...to be perfectly honest I was a little bored. Great tunes, but just a lack of creativity and showmanship in my opinion. All in all it was fun, but I would not consider the Shakes a "Must-see"...interested to hear your thoughts.

I saw them open for Jack White at the Ryman last year, and they seemed better back then. The crowd in Mobile sucked. I was in the balcony and no one stood up at all. It looked like the orchestra level was standing though. People stood going into the encore, and then half sat down, and by the time I finally sat down with everyone else I got a "about time" (I'm 6'2") I turned around and said to the guy "it's not like it's a rock concert or anything." I'm glad I went and saw them again, but I probably wouldn't travel 2 hours again to see them.

What does everyone think of the new album? I listened for the first time yesterday and thought it was good. Seemed to be too many slower songs for my liking, but I'm sure it will grow on me...

Enjoying the album more than their first one. It's growing on me - especially the 2nd half of the album
