I've listened to the album 3 times through already. I know that as soon as I get the CD it won't be leaving the player in my car for awhile.

Just saw that they released a limited edition vinyl (/500) as part of an early Record Store Day release today. I called all the places around me and no one has it or thinks they'll get it in. If anyone happens to pick up an extra I will gladly buy it from you. Thanks

Trying hard to dig this album. Its not living up to the hype for me. I can get about 5 songs in and then it just doesnt do it for me. I picked up this and the new Dr. John on the same day and the Dr. John is winning hands down...

I have a drive to the "burbs" today for work. I'll give it another shot, believe me I want to love this band. Seeing them open for Jack White in Detroit and I wanna feel it so bad!!!!!

They're a different proposition live. If I'd bought the album before seeing them I'm not sure I'd have bought a gig ticket, but they really are the real deal live. I'm glad it's a short record though, too many bands get sucked into making a 60 minute debut and there's really no need.

I also bought Dr John the same day, but I've not had a chance to play that yet!
The secret to a happy ending is knowing when to roll the credits

I actually like this album less now that I forced myself to listen on my drive. I honestly see Alabama Shakes being a one hit wonder with "Hold On" It kills me to say this, I usually enjoy anything Third Man is involved with, but this one just misses for me. I'm going to put this album away until I see them live and then I will report back......

So many better songs they have then ''Hold On'' imo. See them live good idea. :)

tried listening to the album stream on NPR, and while the first song was ok, I couldn't really get into the rest of the album.

I wanted to like them, but I'm going to have to pass.

This band is going places! The singer is like a cross between Otis Redding and Janis Joplin. Damn I can't believe how much I can relate to all the songs here.
