they are still called AIC and have every right to call themselves that if they want to. But the Layne AIC is WAY different than the William AIC.

If so, how is their career TOO short when they are playing 500 seat places? Some might argue they overstayed their welcome....

    If different, then my apologies.
Sorry. The world doesn't work the way you tell it to.

I could definitely do with another album or 2 from the Big Pink/ST lineup of The Band

That lineup was the same until Robbie Robertson left, they never really changed that I can remember, they are one of my favorite groups of all time.

the lineup didnt change AT ALL... and then the last waltz happened. :(

No. I'm talking about The [Fabulous] Wailers: 20100412-115507-297195.jpg

P.S: I love the fact that the Bob Marley's Wailers are still around. I wish they come to Greece someday.

Gnarls Barkley - they apparently have no plans in the works. Cee Lo and Danger Mouse together put out 2 fantastic and original albums that I would argue are among the best of the previous decade.

And just to share my opinion on a few of the mentions that have been hotly debated - Led Zeppelin were around probably just around the right amount of time. I think they had a great number of incredible albums, but they were losing their steam towards the end and were one album away from bad synthesizer rock and worse yet Jefferson Starship...at least that is what I have gathered from In Through the Out Door. They were also really not getting along towards the end apparently and on verge of implosion anyway.

I think the world caught a good amount of the Beatles, but that may have been one of the few bands truly deserving of a reunion once everyone got their collective creative jollies out in the 70s. It would have been great to see them not hate each other and collaborate with all their newfound musical influences...which in turn could have made things a lot different for the 80s. But who knows...

King Crimson....the Fripp/Wetton/Bruford/Cross line-up....three studio albums*, a live album and dozens of bootlegs is all we have to enjoy of this sonic circus. I am glad that the Japanese apparently love this line-up and extensively bought and sold bootlegs of their live shows. This has lead Fripp to officially release many of those shows in the last couple of decades. :(

*The "Starless and Bible Black" album was mostly recorded in front of a studio audience, but all crowd was edited out. It was then marketed as a studio effort would have been.
