Hate to break it to you, Ed dominates everything in this band also. And Pat has been a member for 10 of the 17 years, including the last 6 years. He has always been a part of the band, it was just when he felt like playing he would come in.

EV definitely seems to be in charge, but I don't think the band dynamic is the same. Dave Grohl is much more of a dictator, where there's still some democracy with PJ. I think most people look at Vitalogy as the point EV took over and on most of their albums since then you can hear all the different influences of the individual members. With FF you know what you're gonna get, and that's often the product of a band controlled by 1 person. There's not really even much variance in their acoustic stuff from their heavier tunes.

I definitely see where 81 is coming from with the "house band" comment, though I think it's overstated a bit.

I love the Foos, I'm really happy that they won. Maybe some of the kids who were watching the Grammys because of some crappy pop band will now discover GOOD music. Not getting my hopes up though, because of this bit of news: http://www.buzzfeed.com/mjs538/who-is-paul-mccartney. I am slowly but surely losing faith in mankind. :wtf:
    I'm still out here waiting

Let me put it this way, if Ed doesn't like a song it doesn't make it to the album. Sure they all have input and the ability to write songs, but at the end of the day it's up to Ed as to what gets on and what doesn't. If you don't believe that you are fooling yourself.

OK...there has never been a song on a FF's album that Grohl isn't credited.

I'm totally with you that Ed's the final say so.
I think sometime with singers(especially Ed) they have to really be into a tune or a lyric written by somebody else.

I think that Dave Grohl is being mistaken for Billy Corgan in some of these comments....

    3. There are people bashing and insulting each other all over the internet. We feel it can be better here.
