Grateful Dead Pearl Jam so alike but different

I don't know why we all feel like we have to defend Jerry, The Dead
we love them
if others don't so be it
its their loss...don't sweat it
(its not for everybody)
i know its the same as with PJ though
you've got something great and you want to share it
you want your friends to "get it" and love it as much as you do
just settle for enjoying it yourself...that's all you can control
and what more do you need anyway, right?
i have to say though, having been a deadhead AND a jammer for years upon years
that the biggest similarity between the Dead and PJ is US!
not so much the music
although PJ does jam it out for a good bit sometimes
and PJ does mix it up adding tags and including bits and pieces of one or two songs inside another
and... transitioning from one song into another a lot like the Dead did
AND I do remember one time a couple of years ago
even Ed saying
something along the lines of
"We're gonna be just like the Grateful Dead!"
but he was referring to playing all night..not the music..or...was he?
I still think, despite some of the similarities that the biggest similarity is YOU and ME!
we love love love our bands
we band and bond together in a cohesive community
even though we agree to disagree
we're all here for one another
its a family...jamily...whatever you wanna call it
The Dead and Pearl Jam both have it and have it good :wave:peace,
