They were awful when Petty, The Who and Springsteen played too, so I doubt PJ could fix it. I'm not sure any of their songs would even be that great for a halftime show.

Maybe EV can play the Uke at the pro bowl halftime in Hawaii sometime but again NEVER

I say end halftime entertainment all together. Put a local college or high-school band in there.

80% of the country doesn't know who Pearl Jam is or know they're still a band.

I wholeheartedly do NOT support this petition. Call me pretentious, but I sincerely hope my favorite band never has any part of that spectacle. A medley of Alive, The Fixer, Last Kiss and Jeremy, with Lady GaGa singing back-up and Pitbull adding a spanish rap verse over the end of the Alive solo? :o:o:o

Despite my personal distaste for Kurt Cobain, many of the things he likely thought about PJ (at least at one point during his life) would become frighteningly true if Ed Vedder walked out onto some 50 foot stage at MetLife Field in 2014, with backup singers instead of his suitcase, while Rihanna and Kesha pranced around Mike, Stone and Jeff, adding shitty voice synthesized loops to counter their guitar riffs...

    Please don't do it PJ!

agreed and agreed. Actually the coolest part last night was the drumlines.

I'll sign the petition as long as they play the Super Bowl Halftime Show drunk ..... like they did for the 'Singles' release promotional party back in '92.

No million dollar stage set-up, extravagant costumes, outrageous light show ... just a simple stage and PJ.

Now that would be entertaining and something to see (definitely better than sitting thru another boring lip-synced performance by Madonna). And who wouldn't love to see Eddie staring into the camera and repeatedly screaming "F@%k NBC ... berating the crowd, excutives and government officials..... while destroying the stage. :P

I do think if they ever decided to do the Super Bowl half time show-
everyone would be excited and trying to get tickets...

 The Who did none of this. Why would PJ?

And I'm guessing 20 years before, folks said they wouldn't do it either.

Who cares what Cobain thinks? His judgment obviously wasnt too good.

It would be cool, but I dont care either way. When there's someone I want to see, I pay attention. When there's not, I dont. Free will and all. You know?

Shouldn't we leave lip synching and amazing light shows to Nickelback?

I hope this never happens, I also doubt it would even be considered. Short of a Seattle hosted Super Bowl.

I'd say if it ever happened it'd indicate the end was very very near.

I would want 10c tickets for this only if I got to be one of these kids during the National Anthem.

During the anthem, I'd be the kid with his eyes closed next to Kelly Clarkson...

All I'm saying is that it would become a lot harder to dismiss knocks against PJ that have been made in the past by guys like Cobain if PJ went and played some commercialized circus like the Super Bowl. Hard to reconcile some of the things Pearl Jam has said, done and stood for with playing a spectacle like the Super Bowl.

I just hope it never happens.

Ed could do that thing with the guitar and spotlight and shine it all through the crowd and Mike could do laps around the stage like he did in Chicago 2010 8-)

+1. Just suggested this to people at our Super Bowl party last night. Oh, and I thought Prince's halftime gig was awesome. Other than that though, most have been disappointing.
