yeah...and as that football life points out, they were on the verge of turning things around. playoff win the year before and they were like 4-1 when modell announced the move. then it all went to shit. and the ravens drafted ray lewis the next spring and won the super bowl a few years later.

god that's gotta be the worst thing ever for life long fans of that team. can't imagine.
obviously growing up and living in ohio at the time and knowing a bunch of browns fans.....it was so painful to watch that shit show.

cool to see the old municipal stadium tho.

so.....were you a bears fan growing up in ohio?

lived half way between fort wayne and toledo. toledo had detroit and cleveland as the home teams for nfc and afc, fort wayne always showed the cots and bears.

actually a great place to live back in the day if you loved football. minimum of 4 games every week

I'm moving to Ft Wayne in about 3 months. Thank goodness I buy the Sunday Ticket, Colts/Bears/Lions/Browns not really in my wheelhouse :P We pretty much always get the Colts and Bears down here in Indy too.

  • As a Bronco fan, I must say that Welker will fit in very nicely with Payton. May look like the old days, of Manning to Clarke.

As anal as Manning is, I wonder if he already has Welker working on drills and timing at the practice facility????!!!!

fort wayne isn't a bad little town. we used to go there once or twice a year. my mom would tell stories of her mom going to the old school pro wrestling events there (like the 50's and 60's), as well as Komets games. not sure what that has to do with anything...other then enjoy the move. not sure if it's still around, but there was a restruant that woudl deliever food by toy train. good spot for the kids if is still there.

    enjoy the move....

Rumors swirling about the Packers and Steven Jackson possible 3 year deal. :D

Outside chance Jennings may come back unless the Vikes backup the Brinks truck out of desperation.

    Sorry Falcons got him

Their offense is pimp...draft DE's and a CB

    They are tough

Yeah, pretty disappointed. I was hoping they would get him so they didn't have to waste a high draft choice on one. They need O line and D line badly.

It is not an accident. The commissioner changed the free agency rules this year to make it more of an event. Its cool because I love everything NFL but it is also nice to have a break for a couple months to kind of recharge the batteries of interest. It is impossible to escape it in GB though. The world could go to war again and the local news would lead in with Aaron Rodgers at a charity golf outting.

And they have plans to change the league calendar again to keep it relevant every month of the year:

The thing that pisses me off is the games in England. What the hell is the end goal here? To get a team in London? I mean get real. The Packers have not had to go there yet but I will be pissed when they do, especially if they lose a home game over it.

Beats me, I don't understand it either but Goodell seems to keep pushing it more and more. I can understand if they want to play a couple preseason games over there but other than that it doesn't make any sense, it's too much of a disruption for teams to do in the regular season IMO.

Wonder which Welker will show up for Peyton next season? The one played hard for Brady or the one who got his money. Although nfl contracts are not guaranteed. But still I feel like he will mail it in.

I think he will be huge in Denver. Not as many receptions as in NE just because of the other receivers they have but he will be important.
