Great job by Steelers D. Decent first outing for Fields, even if its a one off for a while.

Has 1 knee = 2 feet always been the rule?? Big 3rd down in the Colts/Texans and that’s what the announcer were saying. Great throw by Stroud and the receiver’s foot drag was maybe too close to overturn.

Yes 1 knee has always been the rule (well as long as I've been watching football, Wobbie may know differently about the leather helmet era)

    The Browns stink.

DeShaun Watson's ass.  A column in CBS this morning analyzes if this was the worst trade in NFL history.  Pretty compelling case.

I wish I was a sacrifice, but somehow still lived on.

Probably still not as bad as the Herschel Walker trade in terms of just the trade but add in the contract and the Watson move may top the list.

All of Watson's money is guaranteed.  I think that pushes it to the top.

"It wasn't disrespectful, because my mom didn't raise me that way. Didn't cuss. Did none of that. I'm still trying to figure that out. ... I still don't know what happened."

Hill definitely was full of shit in his being respectful, but I don't get why he had to be wrestled to the ground by 3 police officers and cuffed while having a knee on his back.

It's one of those times when both things are true.

Hill was definitely disrespectful and non-compliant, and the police definitely used excessive force.

If tyreek’s reasoning is true, and not something he made up afterwards, maybe he could have said, “I’d like to not have a crowd taking pictures. Could I roll my window down just a bit?”

that said, I think the car itself (Lamborghini?) would have been a giveaway and drawn a crowd.

in my 25 years as a fireman, I dealt with cops nearly every shift. some are definitely assholes but I can totally appreciate that they are a little wary of dark tinted glass.

I was at some concert last night. Was Rodgers any good?

He was OK.  They had a really nice early drive when they scored a TD to take the lead.  After that, San Fran took over on both sides of the ball.

Rodgers looked like he was very slow on clod feet.  Almost panicked when pressure got close.  I'd say you saw really good signs of competence though.  Tom Brady had clod feet and was scared of contact (wisely) most of his career and made it work OK.  The INT was into traffic, but it was deflected.  On their 2nd TD, he drew SF offside, had a free play, it appeared players slowed down thinking it was unevaded to the QB, but he hit Lazard for a TD.  It was good quarterbacking.

I wouldn't etch anything in stone from week 1.  For the past few years, I always refer to week 1 as "preseason".  You get a lot of poorly played games and some odd results. Plus, the Jets had the toughest assignment in the league IMO.

*I am hoping the Jets fail too.

Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson accused of 2020 sexual assault in new lawsuit

    CNN  —

Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson has been accused of sexual assault and battery which allegedly occurred in 2020, according to a civil lawsuit filed Monday by a woman in Harris County, Texas.

In the lawsuit obtained by CNN, a woman identified as “Jane Doe” claims that Watson sexually assaulted her in her apartment before a dinner date in October 2020.

According to the lawsuit, Watson – who was playing for the Houston Texans at the time – had become angry when he initially couldn’t find the woman’s apartment, yelling at her on the phone.

When inside, as the woman was getting ready in the bathroom, Watson allegedly took off his clothes and demanded a massage to his buttocks while lying on her bed.

According to the filing, the woman, Jane Doe, said she was terrified.

“She was in her small apartment with a much larger man. … Doe thus tried to appease Watson by rubbing his back, rather than his buttocks,” the suit reads.

Watson insisted she massage his buttocks, but she refused, and he became frustrated, according to the suit.

“Jane froze in fear, unsure of how to refuse Watson’s advances without jeopardizing her safety,” the suit alleges.
