And forget that young people make mistakes.  Give me a fucking break.
So, you're dismissing Watson's exploits as a young dude making some mistakes?
And BTW, I was talking about Winston.  Thought that was clear.  And Wobbie's stupid ass comment.
Wobbie's comment was "some real character guys in the QB room"
    That would include Watson.
Right, disparaging Winston.  So my reply about youth was about Winston.

Are you saying what Watson did was worse than other player's in the league that have received second chances?  Cuz I can roll of some serious criminal shit where second chances were given.  Namely by the Niners and Cowboys, whose fans seem to be particularly high and mighty.  But if we talk about Watson, are we going to talk about Texans management who set him up in the hotel and wrote the NDA's for him?  That's cool right.. no reason they should get any grief for that.  That would be like punishing Jerry Jones or Kraft for their shit.  Can't have that.
Watson is by no means the only one with culpability in the sexual assault cases against him, but he's by far the most culpable. Why you would ever defend him is beyond me.
Texans organization certainly also at fault, but not as much as the POS who perpetrated the crimes. But at least he was sufficiently punished with a $230M fully guaranteed contract.
Exactly what sexual assault?  He was not found either guilty or culpable of sexual assault.  Nor was it criminally charged.  He was accused of sexual harassment and misconduct.  That's not assault and is a world of difference.

And I don't defend him, J'accuse the hypocrisy of this board.  And I also support our actual legal system, criminal and civil and the grand juries who have cleared him of any criminal charges.

    Damn, Steelers making some moves.
Pickett to Philly in Friday and traded a pick for Justin Fields yesterday....

Having watched Fields at OSU , I think he's a great fit for us.

reporting is he isnt expected to compete for the starting job this year but learn from Wilson....

Surprised by the Stillers moves, for sure, and they really didn't give much up.  Pickett was a first rounder and all, but glad they moved on.  Still need a C and WR(s).  Don't know what to expect from the offense at all right now.

4.5 million for two qbs is a steal.  Very shrewd.

Justin Fields? Really?  Don't get your hopes up.  Thankfully he's going to a great organization that maybe able to make something of him.

I am all for more kickoff returns...but why not just go back to what we were doing like ten years ago? They changed it due to injury concerns, but I, for the life of me, do not recall tons of injuries on those plays.

They outlawed these hip drop tackles this week too.....lol

How soon before they're all wearing flags?

I'd like to hear the ways of tackling that are permitted.

I don't have any problems with the game being made safer.  You already have parents not letting their kids play.  I didn't let my son play.  If we want football to survive, then easy changes like this are welcomed.

I cannot imagine the confusion among players, fans, refs, etc etc etc whey they start calling these drop tackle penalties.

I agree with both of you ^^^^

safer is good but the hip drop tackle could be an officiating nightmare. hell, they still haven’t decided what constitutes a “catch.”

I understand wanting to guard against concussions but it seems like they've gone too far with injuries in total. It's a violent sport to begin with. Taking the violence out of it, lessens the game to me and makes it less enjoyable.

This hip drop tackle thing has disaster written all over it.

What I don’t understand is why do the owners get to vote on rule changes but the NFLPA has no say?  The players really do suck at negotiating CBAs.

Is that true?  There is no player or union rep on competition or safety committees?

They might be on a committee but it's the owners who are voting for all the rule changes.

If I'm reading this right, their only say is in a survey.  They don't have any players or NFLPA as part of the Competition Committee or final vote.

He has been a crybaby malcontent too.

I think he will be happy in Houston and give them a good season before he finds some kind of slight to be upset about and vaguepost on social media

The Bills look poised to try to trade up in the 1st for a WR

This cap cleansing hurts.  They have cut a lot of older players.  Need to hit on some picks.  They should have a really good amount of $ to spend next offseason
