I noticed edelman runs out of bounds a lot.....good thing, since he plays like his hair’s on fire. he’s a concussion, waithing to happen.

Not a 'natural' wideout.
He's a self-made one. Intelligence and athleticism can go a long ways in the sporting world.
PED’s help, too.
but it’s the NFL, so nothing to see here, move along.

Sometimes discretion is the better part of valor. Franco Harris made a career out of stepping out of bounds. Jimmy Garoppolo lost a season by not doing so. If he needs to take a hit to gain a first down on the sideline, Edelman will do it. If he's already gained 15 yards and 3 defenders are there (like Sunday), he'll step out.
Agree wholeheartedly that the smart play a high percentage of the time is to step out. Key first downs in crucial games? I can see trying to gut it out.
We just know too much about 'Scrambled Egg Brain Syndrome' aka CTE now to yell for these guys to take this abuse - and if they don't to label them as 'soft', or worse.
They took away the 5yd running start prior to the kick. That almost stops the onside kick in its track.
I don't see why a kicking team can't tell the refs that they're going to try an onside kick, and after letting the refs know, the opposing team is informed and now the kicking team IS allowed to get the 5yd running start that they used to. When they moved the extra point back, teams that scored a TD began telling the refs if they want to go for a PAT kick or for a two-point conversion because the line of scrimmage is now different for each. Why can't onside kicks be similar? A different set of rules depending on what you intend to do.
The whole world will be different soon... - EV

Things like March Madness and the Superbowl are so exciting because it's one game decides all. The underdog has a better chance to win one game vs winning four.
The '90 Reds are an anomaly to this assertion: sweeping the heavily favoured A's (who I hated). Eric Davis' grand slam in game one was a beautiful thing that set the tone for the Reds.
