Sam Bradford is the luckiest unlucky man ever. He got the last big rookie contract and now stands posed to make over $100M in seven years.

I am in utter disbelief the Eagles paid him that much. He's gotta feel like he just won the lottery.

It's crazy. But I guess that's the going rate for a mediocre starting QB in the NFL these days.

yup. only 12.5m counts to the cap this year which ranks 22nd out of all qb's. goes up next year, obviously, but if plays well, they will restructure. if he plays poorly, they can cut him for a 9m cap hit....which is a lot, but in that scenario, they'd probably move on with a rookie who will make less. all in all, i think it's actually good deal for the eagles.

I think over the past several years the Browns have had a hand in what starting rookie quarterbacks get paid with no justification

Calvin Johnson joins Barry Sanders as supremely talented players who retired in their primes rather then continue to play for the Detroit Lions.

I guess he didn't want to suffer anymore damage from Matthew Stafford's signature play ... throw the ball high in the general vicinity of Megatron.

Osweiler is about to get paid by the Texans, 4 year / $72M. As a Colts fan, I approve this decision.

Rumors are the Broncos are considering Caep or .... RG3 (???). Why not Tebow as well and have make them do Hard Knocks. I would watch that shit.

I can't imagine there would be a lot of money guaranteed for Osweiler with that deal, but who knows. This QB money is insane.

I think he will get at least $40M guaranteed once the Texans remember Hoyer is their current starting QB. They need to gamble while the JJ Watt era is in its prime, even if it's on someone that lost his starting job to a man with a dead arm.

  • Denver has no QB right now!

Brock jumped from Denver to Houston for an additional $2 million a year (16 to 18 if I read correctly).

What an idiot. He could have stayed put, managed games, and been relevant. Now he's destined to be a bust.

He would have experienced Brian Griese syndrome playing under Manning's shadow much like Griese did under Elway's shadow. I saw the crowds joyous reaction when he got benched for Manning in week 17.

Plus, he is getting more guaranteed money ($37M) vs. the Broncos rumored $30M. If he does end up being the next Matt Flynn, that is a lot of money to leave on the table.

    Money aside... maybe.

All for not now... what does Denver do for a QB? RGIII? Hoyer?

    It's slim pickings.

Would looooove to see you turn down an additional $2 million dollars a year in salary.

    Take the money all day.

Other athletes have done it. It's not uncommon.

4 million to 2 million... take 4. 70 million to 60 million... it's the same thing in my mind.

That being said, fair enough. He took the money. I'll also say that the Texans reached- he's not the saviour.
