I guess that’s not so bad, but took a lot of dumb luck to do that well. It’s been obvious what they need to do the last 3 off seasons and they continuously drop the ball. Pretty shitty that they’ve wasted a possible once in a generation player. The knowledge they gleaned during the Manning years should’ve made for a pretty smooth transition.

They should be begging Manning to take over football decisions come February.

As a fan of a team who has been in the playoffs once in the past decade, I'd love for the Bears to have had that type of success.  But I do agree...Grigson was a complete clown act.  Pagano doesn't seem to have much of a clue either.  And yeah, having Luck play in front of that abomination of an offensive line and get the shit kicked out of him was awful.  Just reminding you that it could be worse!

It is ironic destiny that the Browns hired Grigson after the Colts shit-canned him

When Indy made that trade for Trent Richardson... I thought it was a great deal.

For at least one shining moment... they knew what they were doing. Mind you... if you make enough decisions... eventually one of them is going to turn out okay just by virtue of sheer luck.
And then the Browns used that 1st round pick from the trade on Johnny Football.

Man the Colts have turned into a train wreck.  I can't believe Pagano still has a job.  I feel bad for him having to go 3+ years fearing you will be fired every single day.  That has to be stressful.
I forgot about that piece lol.

    Yup. Hapless.

Andrew Luck is officially broken.  Placed on IR.  Thank god the Colts didn't try to get him on the field with the season already lost.

Writings been on the wall for that. The recovery for the surgery was 12mos all along, and he should’ve had that surgery like 2 years ago.

Fantasy football was one of contributing factors to me quitting watching NFL three years ago. Couldn’t watch a game without some asshole turning to me and saying “I have Denver’s defense on my fantasy but Phillip Rivers is my quarterback but the guy I’m up against has Antonio Gates, so I’m screwed.” Good I don’t give a flying fuck, you sound ridiculous  right now, leave me alone.

Popularity has definitely peaked, but it's not going away anytime soon.  Ratings may be down, but they are still very high compared to other sports.  But I do agree with what tempo said above that the product has not been very good this year.  So many awful teams.  I used to absolutely love watching the red zone channel all day on Sundays, but it has been kinda rough some weeks this year with so many bad matchups.

They have to do a better job with the primetime match ups.

If a team has no quarterback... it's going to be shitty... don't place them on primetime.

The schedulers cannot account for injuries, but to place a team like Denver or the Jets on national networks at primetime is not promoting your product.

Yeah, it's tough to predict which teams are going to be good for primetime matchups.  Monday and Thursday night games are set in stone before the season and I think they can't start flexing the Sunday night games until Week 10 or 11 I think it is.  And every team has to play a Thursday night game so there's always going to be a few bad games on Thursday's....those games just need to go away at this point.  The quality of those games has been complete trash this year.

    ^^^

There were a few really good Thursday games.

There's an upside to the Thursday games for teams: after getting through them... the teams are afforded an extra three days rest before their next game. For minor injuries... that time is significant for the healing process.

I know there is a downside too having no time for practicing at full speed prior to the game, but if a team is solid... they should be able to get by and reap the benefit afterwards.

You wanna watch our 3rd string punter come in as QB and throw TDS? Oh what’s that? The Pats don’t have a 3rd string punter? Its ok, Wilfork came out of retirement to be Tom’s backup.
