49ers will wait a year and get Cousins then. It's been nice to see them having a plan this offseason. Front load short term deals is what they should be doing.

Just when I thought Chicago had taken the crown of dumbest NFL team from Cleveland, the Browns counter punch by trading for Brock Osweiler.
Long live the Browns.
they're gonna parlay osweiler into something better. or not.
If I had known then what I know now...

It's a Sam Hinkie move. What's dumb about it? They bought a draft pick
Edit: Sounds like they may even just cut him, straight up Hinkie style (I am not a Hinkie fanboy), but I do like this. They have 26 picks in the next 2 years or something insane like that.

$18M for a 2nd round draft pick is pretty steep. I get that it works into what the Browns are trying to do, but damn Osweiler is so fucking bad.
They have the money, and think I saw if the cut him, they only pay him $10 mil or something. Might not play a down. Even if they don't, he's the QB for 1 season when they suck anyways.

True. I didn't realize that they were just going to cut him.

Sam Hinkie's team finished in last place in their division every season, so yes, the Browns made a Sam Hinkie move.
I will give them credit if they can parlay Osweiler into more picks, but $10M for a 2nd round pick is pretty expensive if they can't find any buyers
While as mentioned I am not a Hinkie fanboy, winning at the time has never been the goal. The opposite, actually.
It's only expensive if you can't afford it. They can.
They actually can't take any more picks. They are going to have to package these picks into something bigger as it is impossible to pay the number of players they have picks for.
That's a great trade for Cleveland. They just got a second round pick for money and they have more than they could spend. This was an NBA trade in the NFL. Still think Jimmy G ends up as a Brown. The 12 pick and something else. The Pats will then trade down about 3 times and end up with 4 or 5 picks for Jimmy G.

Tony Romo is retiring. Probably a smart move instead of playing for the Texans and having his carcass dragged off the field in week 7. Time to go golfing.

I hope Snyder resigns RGIII next season after Cousins yells "Adios Motherfuckers!" and slams the door behind him.
Brady gets a stud wideout.
The Pats do it right. They're not my team, but I like how they go for proven when they can.
