Isray must not have been able to convince Peyton to take over ... Pagano and Grigson are coming back.

I'm a little confused. Are you insinuated that you wanted Peyton Manning to be the gm? Why?

I agree Grigson is garbage but why would you want someone with zero experience replacing him?
I think Irsay wanted Peyton to be the GM. Bill Polian has already endorsed Manning.
    That would be a disaster.
Manning is going to be a great GM or owner one day.
He might be. But just because he's a hall of fame player doesn't mean he will be a hall of fame front office guy...especially with no experience.

I like how the Eagles are letting Brian Dawkins work his way up the ladder through the scouting department rather than just hand him a cushy position right off the bat.

Would love to see Peyton in the tv booth anyway...

Russell Wilson sucks. Ciara has ruined him

    R. Wilson moved past Montana [95.6] with a 95.9 career playoff passer rating. Starr [104.8], Warner [102.8], Brees [100.7], Rodgers [98.2].

Because of the inexperience. Just because you were a great/hall of fame player doesn't mean you will be a good gm. Different sport but I'd say Michae Jordan's the best player of all time and one of the worst evaluators of talent the game has ever seen.

Peyton could turn out to be the next Ozzie Newsome, but I think putting him in that position with no experience would be an example of making a decision with your heart instead of your mind.

I'm pretty sure Peyton Manning could outwit Ryan Grigson in team management.

1st Round picks by Ryan Grigson after Andrew Luck:

2013 - Bjorn Warner: Current status: Practice squad for the fucking Jaguars.
2014 - No pick because Grigson traded it for Trent Richardson. Yeah!
2015 - Phillip Dorsett: A wide receiver??????? Are you fucking kidding me??? Current status: SUCKS!
2016 - Ryan Kelly: Finally a O lineman. A drunk hobo could have made this pick.

so uhh having a really good QB is kind of important huh? As if anyone outside of the Cleveland Browns didn't already know that. Aaron Rodgers is one cool cat. Love watching him play. games sucked this weekend but should be at least a few good ones next week.

Stepping up and down in the pocket was really impressive.

He buys his receivers a lot of time to get open. I used to worry about the sacks he'd take waiting for plays to develop downfield, but it seems his line is better this year than it has been in the previous 3-4 years.

Rodgers has really turned it around. He found his mojo again.

Last year he said something that threw me and a lot of people for a loop. He said "for the first time in my career I was scared". He wasn't the same the rest of that year and the beginning of this year then something clicked. I thought he was finished, really did. Thought his confidence had waned. I was wrong.

Wondering if anyone else picked up on that?

    Crazy.

I've always liked the Chargers since Dan Fouts, Winslow, Jefferson, Muncie, and Joiner days. Never my number one... but always followed them. Rivers is great.

They actually haven't officially announced, but they're predicting the announcement tomorrow.

Good for San Diego to tell them to fuck off on using taxpayer money to fund a stadium for a family with a net worth of 2.4 billion dollars.

I lived in San Diego. It's not like there are no other things to do then watch the Chargers suck ass on a nice Sunday afternoon.

It will be amusing when the Chargers have their home games blacked out due to attendance.

I'd be surprised if the NFL allows that. they will pressure them to get into the Coliseum or Rose Bowl somehow.
  • Didn't the blackout rule get tossed a couple years ago?

This Chargers thing is a joke. They won't stay in LA long.

I imagine the other owners all pretty mad right now. This may devalue the league in some way. But I really think they will have problems filling a MLS stadium. Their SD stadium only had Chiefs fans in the stands in their last game and I doubt many will make the commute to LA. LA is Raiders country.

Even the LA Times made it blunt in a column that started with this:

    We. Don’t. Want. You.

    latimes.com/sports/la-sp-chargers-to-la-plaschke-20170111-story.html

This is going to be a beautiful shit-storm to follow.

Yep....love that the taxpayers told Spanos to pay for it himself. Fucking insane that public money is still expected for these stadiums.

I'm just pissed I won't be able to go to San Diego to see the Bears play again....went there a couple years ago for Bears-Chargers and it was awesome. Such a beautiful area.
