That was ridiculous. Can't believe the ref had to tell the players not to leave the field. Walt Anderson is a veteran ref that is usually pretty good, but that was terrible. That whole crew better be fined and/or suspended....NFL holds the players to high standards and players get suspended and/or fined for personal fouls, should be the same for the refs.

I've always wondered why officials (in any sport) seem to never be held accountable for anything. They're practically untouchable. And the players and coaches get fined when they make remarks about bad officiating. It's like dark territory to the major sports leagues. It's sports sin #1.
Whenever I think of poor officiating, my immediate thought goes to Armando Galarraga who got screwed out of a perfect game on the final out. Jim Joyce (first base umpire who made the call) even publicly admitted his wrongdoing and was clearly remorseful. Galarraga and Joyce released a book about the game a year later. Extreme class exhibited by both men the way they handled the situation, and even more for Joyce for holding himself accountable.

At least officials don't have to face the scrutiny of European soccer leagues. Greece had to suspend all play because people tried to burn the head of officiating's house down!

How many playoff games has Lewis won in his tenure there? Dude never has his team's ready for when it counts the most.

I find it to be incredibly odd that the Cowboys, more specifically Tony Romo, is holding a press conference giving his remarks on being named the back up quarterback. I've never seen that before

Yeah, it's Jerrytown USA. Nothing ever surprises me. Gotta hand it to Romo for being a consummate teammate, though. In this league of "me me me" it's refreshing to see a guy hand over the reigns with dignity.

Dak now has some pressure to deal with now that he knows he is the starter. It will be interesting to see how he responds.

I thought as bad as the on and off field officials were last night... that the really stinky performance was turned in by the Texans coaching staff. They got lucky when they botched their 1st and goal series (scoring from the 11). Very vanilla play calling. And essentially calling 'no mas' electing to punt the ball back to Oakland with 3 minutes to go... never to get it back.

Refs blew 3 calls last night
    1. Hopkins did not step out of bounds, but was not reviewable
    2. spot on 3rd down (they had a first down)
    3. the next fucking play....spot on 4th down (they again had the first down)

and to the question above....the lasers were crazy! Why didn't anyone (refs, PA) address the crowd?
