  • Thing is, if Peyton wasn't going to win the Super Bowl last year, he was never going to win it.

He'll never have more rings than his brother.

There would be nothing wrong with a Green Bay/Indy super bowl. I think it would be a very good game. Indy could very well beat the pats. The green bay/Seattle game will be a good game as well. Whoever wins will win by less than 10.

If this weekend was any indication, I like a Indy/Seattle matchup. Rodgers might get killed next week and the Colts seem like that team that turns it on at the right time.

I agree Peyton should hang it up and I think he will. Early in the year he was 100% in next year, but he was noncommittal recently. The possible changes for the Broncos that were brought up during the broadcast make it seem inevitable. He's looked really bad the last few weeks and seemed almost disinterested in the second half, but that could be said for a lot of a broncs today, though not to discredit the Colts.

ah good ole Juggler. only he could say something can't be done even after it was done. respect the stubbornness though big guy. probably doesn't think we can land a man on the moon even though we already did it :))

the NFL has gotten so ridiculous with the replay. the game is not meant to be called by breaking down a video to the millimeters they now do. I fucking hate the Cowboys but if I guy can't catch the ball, take 2 1/2 to 3 and it still not be considered a catch then the game and it's rules have become absurd. how the fuck can the ground not cause a fumble but can cause an incomplete pass under the same scenario? ridiculous.

    ous.

Sorry pal. Your dream of teams throwing the ball 80% of the time, consistently, will never, ever happen. Occasionally if the defense proves they cannot stop something, the other team should exploit it to death like the Pats did in the second half on Saturday. When you have one of the best qbs to ever play the game going up against a makeshift secondary, this becomes easier to do. Unfortunately most teams don't have one of the best qb's to ever play the game going up against that kind of a secondary, which is one of the reasons this hardly happens--case in point, every other playoff game thus far this year. Exceptions to rules, tend to happen sometimes.

Folks, keep in mind, this is a guy who wanted to throw the ball 80% of the time with one, Michael Vick under center. Completely idiotic.

  • As much as I want to see a Green Bay/Patriots Super Bowl. ....I don't think it is going to happen.

If Rodgers has to sit in the pocket, due to his injured calf.....Against that Seattle defense?

Rodgers will be lucky to get out of Seattle alive.

That could be the last game of Mr. Manning's great career. He brought great joy to me over the years. A Super Bowl victory. The 2006 AFC Championship victory over the Patriots was one of the happiest moments of my life.

Most important, he built and established a fanbase in a basketball crazy state and saved the team from moving to LA. Very few people paid attention to the Colts prior to his arrival. Now the state is Colt's crazy.
  • Called that Colts victory and loved every minute of it!
    Bye Bye Peyton!

On the Cowboys non-catch it is a stupid rule. It has been a stupid rule. The Calvin Johnson play highlighted that. However, it is a rule (as has been stated repeatedly) and as such, it was the right call and it would have been bullshit to call that a catch. I almost felt badly for the Cowboy fans but then I remembered that A) I hate the Cowboys (not their fans, just the team) and B) most Cowboys fans didnt feel badly for Detroit fans last week.
Dumb rule. Dumb rule. Dumb rule.
But the refs got it right.

I think Seattle bombs GB but the AFC game could be a great one. Looking forward to next weekend!

Reading local press coverage of Peyton's NINE one-and-done playoff performances, first from Indy and now from Denver, is a tradition I will miss.

  • The Atlanta Braves win 14 straight division titles...Yet couldn't win a World Series to save their lives(they won 1)...and we consider them a dynasty! Smoltz, Glavine, Maddux are all HOF'ers, and considered legends of the game.

Manning goes 1 and done 9 times in the playoffs...And we all laugh our asses off!
And yes Manning is a legend.... I get that.

I kinda both agree and disagree here. I don't think the rule is dumb. You should need to maintain possession as you hit the ground. I thought the Calvin Johnson play very, very incomplete and was shocked that people made a big deal about it. He kinda spiked the ball as he hit the ground. I think it was way different than this play with Dez Bryant.

There really was no real evidence that the ball hit the ground on the Dez play. If you had the ball on your bicep and between your shoulder and elbow, and faceplanted onto the ground like Dez did, the ball would pop up from inertia whether the ball hit the ground or not. We always hear about "irrefutable evidence" and this year in particular I've heard them say they are gonna try to stay with the call on the field but that didn't happen here. It's sad on a competitive level: Romo and Bryant both made great plays there, the Packers DB did nothing but get beat....yet he's credited with a pass defensed there. Like I said in an earlier post: too many games are swinging on technicalities thanks to these super.....slooooooooow.....motion replays.

But hey, Dallas got away with some three penalties on one play last week (defensive holding, defensive PI, Dez running on the field like a baby) and were allowed to offensively hold on their entire final drive. So this shit happens...I guess.

Yep. The fact that no one even knows what the fuck a catch is anymore is ridiculous. He caught the ball and took 2 steps diving for the goal line. They really need to get that shit right.

    That's hilarious!!

Watching it in slow motion, it looks like a catch, but they are really slowing it down to see those three steps and lunge. Full speed, it looks like a million other plays that are called incomplete passes. I understand why Cowboys fans are a little miffed, but I don't think its all that close of a call. Packers fans would have a lot more to complain about if the call was held up.

I don't think the rule is that bad either. The alternative is asking For it to be more of a judgement call and I don't wanna put that in the hands of the refs.

I don't like the Cowboys but I like Dez as a player. His own competitiveness caused the in-completion. If he just falls on his back with the ball instead of trying to score it goes down as one of the greatest post-season catches ever. That what makes great players great though.
