Disneyland has a 3-day (non-consecutive) park hopper ticket for $243 for California residents.

Just as they put these on-sale, they announced that nearly a dozen rides will be closed for refurbishment.

Still a good deal, I suppose.

    Best ride in the place.
We walk up to Ride of Resistance yesterday ONLY because I wanted to see what a 3 hour wait looked like. I walk up to the cast member and ask, "no single rider line?". He smiles and replies, "great timing!".
He then calls out his fellow cast member who is only 5 feet away, yet walking in a different direction. We are told to follow the other guy.

So at 2pm, they just were opening a single rider line! We were the 1st 3 single riders!

We avoided a 3 hour wait and were on that ride in 5 minutes.

Completely changed our outlook on the rest of the day. We were "high fiving" like we won Super Bowl tickets. We got off that ride, I bought us a round of popcorn, water and diet cokes, and off we went for another 8 hours.

    That is great timing.

For 3 days, it's still a bargain, right?
Still plenty to do? For $80 a day.

Im looking at the Disney App.
Guardians is a 3.5 hour wait.
Frozen and Ratty Tooty are over 2 hours.

    New Years Eve in Disney!
    Yikes

And yes,  I have nothing better to do with my boring life than look at Disney wait times.

I still can't believe what we were able to accomplish on Monday. I never really got out of bed yesterday other than for food and water....hahaha
But you only live once(not me though, I've been pronounced dead a couple times!) My friend and his daughter now have a story they can repeat for the rest of their lives.

    Fuck Mickey Mouse!

I do not know how folks wait 2+ hours for anything that is supposed to be a vacation.

Yeah, I hear you. But to each their own, I guess. If someone wants to wait 2 hours for a 1 minute thrill ride? Who am I to judge? I know people who wait 24 hours in a line to see a rock concert. Haha

Hey Get Right? How was your New Year's celebration?

Speedy it was quiet. Empty house. Which is just fine with me. I hit the gym, got a Schvitz (steam room), and got some Chinese food. Then lots of football.
EDIT: And it has been freezing here in NY. Has not be over 30F in two weeks.

New Years was typical for me. I was in bed by 8pm. Has your family returned home? Or are they still out and about?

I live right around the corner from Katz’s Deli. There is easily a 2 hour wait to get in there sometimes. The other day the line went down a block turned a corner and went halfway down the next block. They are always blocking the entrance to my gym. I’ve eaten there tons of times without ever waiting in line. It’s good but way overpriced and not worth waiting in line for.

Interesting....my TikTok feed is full of people getting sandwiches there. I figured that it was probably good but not "that good".

I think it is because of TikTok that there are now lines. It has only been in recent years that I have seen such long lines there. I have to say that their fries are really good though.

All my complaining aside, it is an institution in the neighborhood. My dad remembers it from when he was growing up here. I think it opened in 1888 - so I am really glad they are doing so great. Too many places close down.

Thread integrity - I haven't been to any of the Disney parks since I was in high school.

Still in Japan. Returning the 10th. And the daughter is missing the first week of school, which I did not really know about. All the college apps are in, so I do not think it really matters. But like I said, my wife makes the plans and I just say OK. Grand scheme, they are lucky to spend time there.

And for thread integrity, they have never been to Orlando. But they have visited Tokyo Disneyland several times. And that crazy roller coaster in Tokyo by the Dome. I think it is called Thunder Dolphin. I did it once and almost puked.

    GREAT story!

A few of my cousins are going and are spending 10G on rooms, parks and flights.  There are 6 of them so its not that crazy I guess?

Last time I went in 09 you could buy a multi hopper pass for under 400.  Fast passes were a blessing to jump in front of the lines.  They had Pleasure island and Cirque de solei on the grounds too.  It also wasn't that crowded.  Wonder what the crowds are like now with these 3 hour wait times...

3 hour waits during what is considered the busiest time of the year(the holidays). Today, an average Tuesday at the park? You're gonna wait an hour for the Big Attractions. Which really isn't horrible.

My wife and I would drop $5k minimum over the last 10-15 years, on each Dusney trip. We would always stay at a Disney resort, usually a value resort. Plus we got park hopper passes for the length of our stay. We always tried to go when Disney was offering their Free Dining Plan.

So $10k, for 6 people, is not bad at all.

They love staying in the resorts on the park. I'm cheap, I'll stay in kissimee.

That's me. When we have done Orlando have usually stayed in a place on 192 about a mile from the entrance to Magic Kingdom, Parkway International Resort. When we went in early December (when my kid was young enough that we didn't mind taking him out of school), we'd pay like $65 a night plus taxes for a fully furnished 2-bedroom condo. Was great value. Meant we needed a rent-a-car and had to pay for parking but worked out much cheaper than staying at a Disney property, plus I always want to have a car on vacation anyway.
    This weekend we rock Portland
