We share the love with the family. Including all the nasty stuff they bring home. I cannot count how many times my kids have made me sick. The same with airplanes. Be well and take care of Kathy.

    That sucks.
Hope it's a mild case and hope you somehow avoid getting it.
    This weekend we rock Portland

Yeah, if I get it I'm not too worried. I've survived worse. But if I do get covid I'm pretty sure it will be my 4th time. Maybe 5th.
And I was done with the shots after #3. I'm not doing any more of those. And I don't give a flying fat rats ass what anyone has to say about that. Hahaha

We are all booked to back in February.
I'm guessing there will be no hurricane warnings and it won't be 130 degrees in the shade.

Should definitely be no hurricane issues in February.

I've done Disney in September many times.
But never do I remember it being so fucking hot. Maybe its all my medication, maybe I'm just getting old. I was literally drinking a half gallon of water every couple of hours, and just couldn't seem to cool down at times.

    Sucks getting old.

But we are now seriously discussing 6 months Florida 6 months Chicago.

    We will see.

    Snowbirding.
What a lot of folks do. Summers in FLA can be brutal. Wife wants to retire there. I can't see being there year-round. As you said, "We will see".

With my hand/arm situation, I just do not want to do any more winters in Chicago. My hand gets ice cold, my arm hurts, and I am miserable. So I keep myself locked in the house. And that just sux!!
At least down south, when it's hotter than HELL, I can go to the pool and sip on an adult beverage.

    We will see.

My family bought a house in Delray in 1988. Delray used to be for the middle class people that could not afford Boca. My wife and I have been talking retirement and neither of us wants to leave New York for Florida, Arizona, Myrtle Beach, etc.

I'm still working for 10 years or so but I always thought TN would be a good place to seek out a retirement home/condo. Just to escape the IN winter from Dec-Feb maybe. I don't see a need to go further south really. I just don't want to fuck with ice.

I can understand why someone would want to move to South Carolina (or the southern US in general) for retirement, but I cannot fathom why anyone would want to retire to Myrtle Beach. If you're wanting to retire at a beach, we have lots more that are better than that cess pool. You couldn't pay me enough to live in MB.

To stay on topic, the wife and I are going to start planning our son's first Disney trip in about a month or so. We'd like for him to be closer to 3 when we go, so we've got a little time, but it never hurts to be plan early.

Honestly, not sure yet. Still in the early stages of even discussing things. We're probably looking at a year and a half before going and have been told you can't make reservations this far out.

In the past we've stayed at Caribbean Beach and another that I cannot remember the name. It was a multi-family suite place when we went with my sister and her family. Had no complaints about either.

We've also stayed off property back when I was a youngster. Don't think we're looking to do that though.

First time we took my son he was 3.
My only piece of advice from that experience is don't take the 3-year-old to the Mickey's Philarmagic 3D movie.

Yeah it was good. I'm not sure he'll be old enough to really appreciate some of the other resorts, so it will probably be on the short list.

I have done Caribbean Beach and the Swan and Dolphin. The Swan is a nicer resort than Carribean Beach IMHO. But Caribbean would be great for a young child that cannot yet appreciate a nicer resort.  Edit: It has been 10 years since I have been there. The last two times I was in Orlando I stayed at the JW Marriott/Ritz which requires a shuttle bus to the parks.

The Swan and Dolphin is CRAZY expensive.
But its gorgeous. Love the pool area, the restaurants are awesome, everything about the resort is perfect. Well, except the fact that it's $800 a night.
