I'm guessing some tech-nerd got shut out of a show in the past, got miffed at 10C, and is attacking these ticket sales.Be Excellent To Each OtherParty On, Dudes!0

I don't have information on when more information will be coming but I'm sure that it will. There isn't much I can do about people being upset about tickets. I wish everyone had all the tickets they want with no difficulty at all but my personal wishes won't make that happen. There's a lot of time before the shows and I just know/believe that all of this is going to be worked out and people will have what they need. Discussing tickets here is good but if someone has a personal issue with the Ten Club, they really should just write to them or phone them. The staff will be glad to help everyone they can help. I've created these threads so the issues you're concerned about can be in one place and more easily seen and I hope this helps everyone.
I promise you that even if you haven't heard it yet, there is an extreme level of concern about this. I'm sure it wasn't an easy thing to figure out what was happening and why it was happening when the ticketing procedures weren't working as they were supposed to. Then you have to figure out what to do. They pulled the plug instead of waiting to see if it would clear up so people wouldn't be more inconvenienced but they already were so it was a rock and a hard place. There were still going to be people who were extremely upset. Because of past problems they were trying hard to fix, some people don't want to give the benefit of the doubt and there we are. It's going to work out is all I know right now. It's just going to work out.
Not defending the whole mess Pearl Jam and or the company got into with this but it's nice to see someone from within took the time to actually post something meaningful and not just a cut and paste. And as for the most recent on sale, I tend to believe that some kind of Denial of Service attack happened because there were plenty of tickets to meet the demand for these Europe shows. And to my knowledge, these European shows have never been an issue in the past, even with the old ticket system. And for the lesser demanded shows in the US it wasnt a problem either.
Wrong. There have been loads of issues in the past, since 2006, with the site crashing repeatedly. The only time I can recall it ever being easy was when Copenhagen and Katowice went on sale for 2007. And why? Because the emails notifying us about the sale only went out after it began. My Pearl Jam Photos

Why was Crowd Surge indicating yesterday that the sale was about to restart, that they were only waiting on 10C to give the go-ahead? Why would they do that if they had been the victims of sabotage? 10C seems to have spent all of yesterday vetting the statement we all received last night. Had there been actual sabotage, wouldn't Crowd Surge have known all day yesterday that the sale could not recommence? The more I think about this story the less likely I am to believe it.___________________________________________

My confidence in any system for tickets for me at least is at an all time low if this happened for Europe will they even try to sell tickets for the shows here , i really hope they don't stop selling tickets thru the club because of this ...
I hope members of the band really make sure the club sells tickets to the fans ....everybody can say all they wan't but the number 1 reason for me to have joined in 93 was because the club made me feel like they cared ....jesus greets me looks just like me ....0 -
Just want to say thanks to Kat - anything is better than being ignored when you're stressed.
Gonna try for Manchester tickets at 9:00am and if that doesn't work out I think I'll take a trip to the Isle of Wight.
Go luck everyone0 -

i don't think they said it would recommence, in fact iremember them saying there probably wouldn't be a pre sale0 -
i posted this earlier in another thread but i think it would be best served here
personally i think the 10c should look at bringing in someone from the outside with a strong business backround to carry out a review and see how the 10c could improve its systems in order to improve the service to the fans and customer service in general. we can post and hypothesise all we wan't but because we can't have the full information then we can't know what would be the best system for the the fans, 10c, and moneterily, preferably in that order0 -
I wish that Pearl Jam would use a lottery system like Phish does. You put in your request during a certain time period and then find out if got tickets before the general sale at the end of the request period. No more stress of having to log on right at 10:00 am or whatever and flipping out when you don't get through. Maybe this could help them filter out hackers too. When FASCISM Comes To America

F that. There's a reason people have been members since 1991 and the club has given them incentive to do so. The only thing Pearl Jam needs to learn from Phish is how to operate a festival bearing their name.0 -

But long term members aren't getting tickets either. I have seen many posts where they complain. They can still have basically the same way they distribute where the seats are, but I don't get why we have to deal with the stress of having to be at the computer at a certain time only to get frustrated and shut out. When FASCISM Comes To America

Should there be modifications to the system? Sure. But there would be more shit being flung around here if it was a lottery.0 -

Which you have more of a control over than someone else dictating the results. Their demand outweighs their supply. That surely isn't surprising. The notion that people are going to play the tiniest violin for themselves because they can't be at a computer at a certain point in time is laughable. The idea that I would have to wait, say a month, to find out if I have tickets or not via a lottery than spending just one day finding out whether I got them or not would result in me growing more annoyed by the day instead of just one day. I've gotten more tix through the system than not, but the point is I have definitely not gotten them sometimes. And the moral is you win some, you lose some, get over it.
The bigger issue is the structure of those operating this fan club is far below-average. There shouldn't be the same sort of glitches, problems, incompetencies, time after time.0 -

Yeah, I don't think the quickness makes the results better. There have been all kinds of hacking issues with ticketmaster. I think making them so quick actually alters results more. Doing it the same old way didn't seem to help them this time either. I think also that 10C hasn't been able to handle everyone going on at once so a slowed down approach might be more workable for them. Plus it doesn't take a month. I am talking two or three days. That is the way Phish does it and people don't bitch that much. When FASCISM Comes To America

I don't know the situation with Ticketmaster, but I'm talking about the system PJ uses on their site.0

It's amazing what a bit of straight-forward, sincere communication will do. Many heads seem cooler already. Most just want honest information, above all else. Thanks for the updates, Kat. I wonder how many in the first 10 rows or so for the UK shows will be 10C members? One of the best parts of 10C seats is that you will be sitting with other 10c members that love PJ just as much as you do. I cant imagine being next to someone who lucked out and got 3rd row center seats (my ideal seats) then sits through Black,Red,Yellow. I think the band will miss the energy too, there's a distinct possibility there might be people SITTING (GASP) in the first few rows...0

Kat,
I think everyone here appreciates your kind (and very human) words. You sound like an actual human being and not some corporate robot toeing the party line. This is really all anyone wants or expects. The problem, however, is that this type of communication came far too late and should have come from someone besides the board moderator. I say that with all due respect. You're not the (only) one who should be communicating this message, you are not the one who made the decisions that led to this farce of a presale, and you're not the one with the power to do anything about it. These sorts of words should be coming from Tim or the band. And again, it's not that we don't appreciate what you have to say. Quite the contrary. But leaving it up to the board moderator to address this issue is ridiculous and a shirking of responsibility on someone else's part. After waiting for a couple of days, glued to our computers, we receive an e-mail that basically slaps us in the face and throws in a heartless "with apologies" at the end. The communication should have been immediate and at least pretending to be sincere. You are sincere, we fans are sincere, the band is sincere. Why are the other "decision makers" so insincere and unwilling to accept responsibility for what by any account was a failure? I do not expect to get tickets because I have a 10C membership. But I do not expect or deserve to be treated in such a condescending manner, either. No fan does.
On an unrelated note, the fact that many of the Euro ticket agencies do not accept non-European credit cards merely makes the situation worse. Even if we want to buy tickets, we cannot. There are easy fixes for this sort of thing, but they were not put into place or likely even considered. The thousands of posts discussing these types of issues have not been addressed by anyone at the PJ organization but you -- and you can't do anything about it. The near total lack of communication on behalf of the organization make it fairly clear that it is not listening to us or reading any of these posts. I think that's called being ignored. Being ignored indicates a lack of concern, a lack of care. Thus, it's pretty easy to see why many of us have concluded that the organization simply does not care about us or what we think. It's kind of hard to pay money for that sort of "treatment."Los Angeles - Sep 11, 1992
