I think what 10C need to do right now and make it top of the priorities is find out fully what the hell happened on Tuesday and to communicate this back to us. And just communicate better to us in general. Doesn't take much.

I agree that the biggest let down is that they did not space out the tickets AT ALL for these shows. Utter failure. Let's say they HAD spaced them out and there was still quote-unquote "sabotage" (not buying it yet), at least they would have known and only the first show would have been quote-unquote "sabotaged." By not spacing the shows out, which it seems after all the other things that have happened all the other presales, it was kind of asking for trouble. Everyone knew this before the tickets went on sale.

Lastly I'd just like to say Oh my God. It's a mirage. I'm telling ya'll it's sabotage. ;)

  • Maybe this'll be the year PJ covers the Beastie Boys. That'd be classic. Closing all Euro 2012 shows with "Sabotage"

  • If you hire me to fix it, I'll let you blame all of the previous ticketing and shipping problems on me too. Even Stone could blame stuff on me. Drummers? My fault. Sorry.

Kat, you have my sympathy for the position you are being put in. Don't take the rage personally.

What I don't get and I have suggested this over and over and just simply don't understand why they don't try this is a simple solution. What 10 Club SHOULD do is announce the shows, Pearl Jam will be playing, post all the shows and prices to the 10 Club members and then tell all the members the have one week to chose the shows they want tickets for and take their credit card information on these shows.

After the week is up the members are informed if they got their tickets or not, those who didn't get tickets would still have a chance through Ticketmaster or whoever is offering the tickets. This way everyone is not trying to log onto a website @ the same time and making everything crash and having people pissed off and angry.

That's the main problem that for some reason is ignored, the problem being that YOU CAN"T HAVE EVERYONE TRYING TO BUY TICKETS @ THE SAME TIME! You need to spread the time line out over a week to avoid this problem, no matter what service or method you try to use, nothing will change if everyone is trying to log on and get tickets @ the same time. This is why this problem is happening every time, it doesn't seem that complicated to me, it's not like this is the first time it has happened, and THAT"S why people are pissed, because it happens over and over.

The Lottery has been brought up many times, even in this thread. Personally, I don't like them.
I don't get why every says this happens every time, Alpine and Europe being way differnt the last two times, but other then NYC, Boston, or Philly, they were very easy.
Maybe they should just let Ticketmaster handle it.
No matter what, people are still going to be upset, people will still get shut out. There is no perfect way.
I totally agree with you. I'm so not in favor of a damn lottery. The main reason I'm in the Ten Club is for the chance to buy tickets to the BEST seats in the house. I save all my vacation and money every year to travel around and see them. I don't want to pay $40 to have a lottery determine if I'm gonna go to a show or not. With high demand shows like NY, Boston & Philly, they can balance the load by staggering the ticket sales in blocks determined by fan club number. They can do like 4 blocks, each block with the same amount of fan club numbers. And this doesn't mean people with a lower number get a lesser chance. Its just a way to minimize the traffic at one given time. I posted this in a few other threads. Plus with a lottery, people will think its rigged.

I said this before, they should sell tickets, even if its just for high demand shows, in several blocks going by fan club #. Everyone will still get an equal chance. This suggestion DOES NOT MEAN if you ave a low number you have an advantage.

Say, just for even numbers, there are 400,000 members. Well then have 4 different mini tickets sales for a high demand show. You can start off by selling 1,500 tickets or 750 pairs per block.
These numbers are just an example and must be tweaked so every block has the same number of fan club members so everyone has an equal chance.
    Block 1 Fan Club #'s 1-99,999

    Block 2 #'s 100,000-199,999

    Block 3 #'s 200,000-299,999

    Block 4 #'s 300,000-400,000+

Each block gets, say 1,500 tickets (just saying for an equal number)
So 4 blocks of 1,500 = 6,000 fan club tickets and everyone still gets an equal shot at tickets. The way they give out the seats when you pick them up doesn't change. But this prevents EVERY SINGLE fan club member from hitting the site at the same time.

And as for the most recent on sale, I tend to believe that some kind of Denial of Service attack happened because there were plenty of tickets to meet the demand for these Europe shows. And to my knowledge, these European shows have never been an issue in the past, even with the old ticket system. And for the lesser demanded shows in the US it wasnt a problem either.

  • So, sad sad day.
That post here is very nice, so I try to take it as an outlet!!!

It was a deja vue of yesterday that happened today:
I had 2 tickets in my account for the PIT in Berlin but when I wanted to check out my card was empty again. So I phoned the company and they told me they had a:
    guess what:
    server break down....

see, there are these problems everywhere!!!

So after 2,5 hours I got through and finally could buy a seat-place ticket... but I can't sit during a PJ gig, I just can't!!!... however, the standing tickets were sold out after 30 minutes (that's what the nice women of tickets.de told me; she could not believe what was going on... so I told her: you better do believe, that is the normal PJ crazyness...)

Anyway, what bothers me most is that you are lost in this game if you have an old PC with a normal active Lan connection... then you just can't make it and that makes me soooo sad, especially because I was not aware of it and now it seems to late...

So, in case anyone has a spare ticket for the PIT in Berlin, I really would like to buy it, even to a higher price or whatsoever - would be nice.
    :)

and on a site note and I know it does NOT belong here: but the whole ticket drama got me somehow. It was and is a bit much and I lost the fun in between those 3 days....

but to get positive again: there are still seating tickets left at tickets.de so and maybe after a real sleep all will be good again...
there is no way to peace, peace is the way!
...the world is come undone, I like to change it everyday but change don't come at once, it's a wave, building before it breaks.

But for the shows where the demand is way higher than the supply it is already a giant crapshoot as to whether or not you might get tickets before they 1) sell out, 2) the server crashes) or 3) the system gets sabotaged and they cancel the presale. I don't see how an actual lottery would be any different than something where you have pretty much the same chance as a real lottery anyways. The only real difference is people wouldn't have to spend hours or days trying to get tickets in their cart.

Because I've only been shut out 3 times out of over 20+ chances. If it was a lottery, my ratio would be much worse. And I live in the northeast, so many of those shows were for high demand shows like NY, Boston & Philly
