OWS represents anger Barack Hussein Obama has caused

We keep going back and forth on this issue but one thing I think is indisputable: most people just scraping by (and that's a lot of people these days) or working damn hard like myself to stay above the poverty line are tired of the inequality-- lots of hard working people just get by while a few fat cats take in more than any one man (and sometimes a woman) needs. Sure, some of them are philanthropists and many of them create jobs. Nice tax deductions, good little worker bees. Here, have some table scraps. Same as it ever was. Same...as it ever-was. Same...as...it...ever...was."It's a sad and beautiful world"-Roberto Benigni0

seriously, the mods have better things to deal with than the post you reported...
and addressing your photo...a few dumbasses burning an american flag does not characterize the entire movement. i am a proud liberal who supports the movement, and i am wearing a flag shirt in my avatar. do you want to judge me too???
the flag is just a symbol and it has different meanings to different people. like it or not it symbolizes all that is right, and more importantly all that is WRONG with america.
i could quickly post 30 pics from tea party rallies with racist and anti obama messages on them. it does not make all tea partiers those things...."You can tell the greatness of a man by what makes him angry." - Lincoln

I've never done so and don't intend to (I mean, really, why burn when you can sew instead and put it on a sharp dresser like gimme?), but it is still legal to burn the flag in America- a right protected by the Constitution. But since this isn't a regular event related to OWS, what I want to know is- why are we moving the discussion in this direction?"It's a sad and beautiful world"-Roberto Benigni0

on the weekends its jeans, doc marten boots, an interesting t shirt and black leather jacket... for god's sake man, i have a t shirt with the american flag on it, perhaps one of the most gaudy patterns in the history of art lol...
like i said, some dumbasses are doing provocative things and are associating it with the ows. and people will lambaste and focus on those few dumbass actions because doing that is easier than trying to discuss the real issue and come up with real answers and real solutions. coming up with answers and solutions takes serious thought and consideration. blasting 3 people for burning a flag takes no thought.
perhaps we should ask ourselves this question, if you do not support ows, then by default, do you support the status quo?"You can tell the greatness of a man by what makes him angry." - Lincoln
"Well, you tell him that I don't talk to suckas."0 -

once people start threatening to report posts then the threads die because nobody wants to post in the thread again after that. and that carries over into other threads and the whole train quiets down for a few days.
that move is the ultimate killer of discussion, and to announce it publicly seems childish.
95% of the time threads work themselves out and move on without having to get a mod involved.
he does that often, and i apologize if my frustration with that translated into that post..
i'm sorry everyone.

Look at me, never rat on your friends and always keep your mouth shut.

Name calling is not ok.
Please discuss the topic and not the person.
Calling names is the ultimate killer of discussion. 95% of the time0 -
If you cant get pass the minor name calling (simple negative tactic in debate) then I suggest instead of crying foul, like they say, "if its too hot in the kitchen, then GTFO." All I see abuse of the rules here, big time. Crying wolf when there isn't one. Of course, we all want positive discussion/argumentation. But whining is also a MAJOR buzzkill. Sorry. How many people are you going to try to get booted who do not deservedly need to be. What a klusterf&^k.
Even the Godfather. can stand the minor leftist jabbing.
PS love the picture above.0 -

We can do better than the misguided policies, broken promises, and failed leadership of President Obama that caused this whole Occupy movement. Now clearly misguided and having lost any brand they may have had, the solution is what Newt says above in vid clip.
stop breaking the law
be held accountable for your own successes and failures
that is what I propose.0 -

Um, thats what OWS is about accountability. We are seeing a great # of corporations putting profits over people. Wall Street falsely raising prices on futures like gold, corn, oil. People buying and leveraging companies decimating its employees to turn a quick profit. Polluting the world for profit. Buying out governments for profit. This is accountability? This is integrity? I'm all for success and abundance but how have you made your money. Killing people, throwing them out of their house, taking their life savings in a pension scheme, raping and pillaging and starving their country for their resources? Just to name a few. All these things and more have been done in the name of profit with no consideration of the effect they have on the lives of the people of the globe. I would rather be a "failure" by society's standards and definition than to have made my fortune off of the backs and stealing from poor innocent trusting people.

I wish I had the minutes of my life back for the posts where people can't even speak politely to each other when they make their points about what they believe. And quoting the Posting Guidelines to people is only for us mods to do, not for people to use as a weapon when they are debating. Just report a problem to us and do not respond to it. This thread is open again but will only stay that way if we see an effort being made to discuss the topic. If it moves off-topic or the topic changes, please make a new thread or find one that applies.
