But anyways, knowing a Croatian who was at the game, apparently this group of ultras was warning the federation there'd be an "incident". It's such a shame that a small group of these idiots are ruining it for the team and their fans who are good people. The team is dynamite and they might get kicked out of the tournament because of a few fans stupid enough to think throwing flares on the field will get the changes they want in their federation.

My brother Met a Croatian girl online a few years back After 2 weeks of talking, he went there and they were engaged She comes here USA, that whole fiancée Visa thing She realizes you have to bust your ass in the States to haven$$ ( thought $ grows on trees here) My brother was not rich but not poor either She sold herself as religious and a good women After she no get what she wants She convinces him to leave everything to move to Croatia with her Told my family they would be out in matter of weeks They leave... My mother & me, and some other family were defrauded over $ 160,000.00 due to my asshole brother working at a bank and using info he had from us to open loans, cash out and bounce
I don't blame her solely ( don't speak to my asshole brother anymore) but she was a WITCH. And worse of all this has happened to a few people I know from Croatian people.
Not trying to paint all in the same light since I go there every few years and love so many of them......but I know what a lot of them are about as I'm sure a lot of poor Eastern European countries have scammers like this
I met her family for a few days during her brief time stateside, they are houligans and lowlife scammers. No shame asking for dough and such

She was worried bought their newborn child, which I get but this is FRAUD and I lost $20,000.00

Thank you!! Unfortunately many people have no concept of culture and think the way it is in one place is the same as all over the world. But anyways, I was reading quotes from Perisic (I'm Interista) and the rest of their squad. They're very ashamed. Rakitic even said he thinks they'll be kicked from the tournament. So sad, because you know this is only going to cause more conflict. Makes you wonder if the players regret representing their country, which is an unbelievable thing to say.

It is crazy. Because especially if it was a forewarned "attack" or incident, you'd think the security in the Croatia end of the park would be top notch. Especially since this is something that's happened with these fans in the very recent past

Honestly, that's the way it is there man. I was in Italy last year for 5 weeks and went to 7 Serie a games and one Serie B game. There were flares and smoke bombs in at least 2 or 3 sections per match going off for the entire 90 minutes. At no point was it worrying, because that's what those people do. They light flares in the stands. Those people aren't idiots- the idiots are the ones who do things like throwing them on the field like we saw today. Actually throwing them at people and on the field, I only came across that a few times. But it's not worth cancelling the match for. What my point is, I'm not trying to compare a european top division soccer match to a concert, but the people in Europe aren't alarmed by someone throwing a flare or smoke bomb onto the field, whereas like you said, if it was an NFL game it'd be on the situation room on CNN for a whole night.
