Wow! Wasn't expecting a PJ tour next year if this is what it turns out to be.

When does the last headliner for IOW get announced?

If the rumoured dates are true I can see the Manchester date been the subject of an F5 meltdown. I would hate to miss out on that as I have great memories of the last gig there. Are we to presume Amsterdam is non-festival show? That one is tempting.

I think Manchester and Berlin for me. I have to experience Berlin after reading about the experiences and listening to the boots from 2009 and 2010. Lump in some sightseeing and it all sounds good. Roll on the announcement! :)

Berlin is gonna be at the Berlin o2 Arena this time, not the Wuhlheide :(

Festival shows on the tour are IOW, Arras & Werchter
No Wuhlheide?? That's the best spot for a concert I've ever been.. Then I might go to Manchester instead.

Thinking the same, and seems PJ loves the wulheide. Will skip Berlin also then.

One theory is that it won't be back, that all future sales will be partnered with TicketMaster like the second stage of the Canadian pre-sale was earlier this year. As easy and correct as it is to paint TM as being an evil empire all reports I read indicated those pre-sales went as smooth as could be. Time will tell.

My membership had expired on the 19th of Nov, but due to some technicality I was told I couldn't renew until the new year, after reading this thread I got in a panic and phoned them up. The guy told me that they put up the 2012 memberships last night, so I could now renew. He would neither confirm or deny there was a European tour. I asked him if there was a hypothetical European tour announced in the next few days / weeks, if I renewed now, would I be good for the access to attempt to buy tickets? He said the "announcement said I needed to be a member by the 5th" (I can find no evidence of an announcement on the site), but as I was still in my 3 month grace period, I should be good if I renewed now <-- hope he was right, otherwise I think I might break down.

Thanks... I forgot about that 2nd stage of the Canadian presale... having not gotten involved in that!

So perhaps we could be in for a whole new ticket buying process... with us Europeans being the guinea pigs!

Over the course of their 30-plus year career, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers have yet to play a U.K. festival gig, and it's been 20 years since their last major show across the pond. But this June they'll be able to cross those off the list when they headline the legendary Isle of Wight Festival.

The famed, Grammy-winning rock band will take the Festival's mainstage on Friday, June 22.

Isle of Wright Festival promoter John Giddings wrote on the Festival's website, "It has taken years to achieve, but I'm sure it will be worth the wait -- they are one of the greatest rock and roll bands of all time."

This year's Festival takes place from June 22 to 24, with Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band headlining Sunday the 24th. Other acts include Noel Gallagher, Elbow, Biffy Clyro, and the much buzzed about act The Vaccines. A headliner for Saturday the 23rd has yet to be announced.

The last line has me pondering the what if ....

Last time, it was staggered at 1hr intervals per show, starting i think about 4pm GMT. Think it was about the same for the 2006 tour, although lots went on sale at the same time
