Plant doesn't want to be loud. Page & Jones were talking about finding a different singer but I think they thought better of it.
I would raid my son's college fund for a ticket...

So does anyone else not give a shit if you hear Living Loving Maid right after Heartbreaker? I mean, they never played them live together. Matter of fact they never played LLM at all; they were said to not be fond of that song.
On the other hand, I really love Friends/Celebration Day together. I don't think Friends was ever played by LZ, but I'm not sure. It was played amazingly by Page & Plant with the orchestra in 1994/95.

used to be my favorite, now my 2nd favorite. i've loved this band since i was 14. i've got a show from every tour & a bunch of studio demos/ rare stuff. they were incredible! jimmy page is probably the most brilliant mind in rock n roll-ever. will get back to this thread later. mp3va.com, mp3panda.com is where i found all my rare zeppelin. they've even got page/plant shows! i'm collecting their vinyl as well. i've got 2, physical graffiti & in through the out door (with a paper bag sleeve!). greatness..

I started listening to rock music aged about 15, in the late 80s. Led Zep were one of my first loves, along with the Floyd - I've been through many phases and different bands since then, but Zeppelin still sound as great as when I first started listening to them. Without doubt, one of the greatest bands there's ever been - if someone wanted to argue they were the greatest, I would find it hard to dispute that. On the Bonham front - I don't pay much attention to drummers normally - but Bonham plays in a way which is so entwined with the melodies, it's impossible not to be blown away. I remember being very high on a few occassions in my youth and listening right through Physical Graffitti, only concentrating on Bonham's playing - unferkinbelievable!

I picked up all the vinyl at a used record store on South St in the 90s. They were about $5 each I think. Plenty of copies out there.

I would sell my soul to the devil and endure an eternity of hell just to see Zep perform live once. When they played in London, I tried to convince my hubby that we could sell our house or do whatever we had to to get to that show. It would have been worth it!! He obviously didn't agree

How bout how long No Quarter was gettin in 75 and 77? Really great version from the St. Louis Blues bootleg.
I think their jamming overall gets so overlooked. "Songs in motion" is the way Jimmy Page likes to say it, and they were. They had a map and knew where to go, but they hardly ever jumped on the 4lane and set the cruise. I much prefer the way they do it compared to a band like the Allman's.

I love the long No Quarters. JPJ was magical on the organ. I like most of LZ's jams but D&C got a little superflous in 75 (maybe 73) and Whole Lotta Love was, eh, didn't do too much for me. Seemed like some filler.
I saw ABB last weekend and it was painful at times, but overall a good show.

So happy I found this thread LOVE ME SOME LED(ddie)
I was introduced to the band at about the same time I started listening to Pearl Jam, mainly because I used to hear that they definetely influenced the "seattle" sound , so I decided to buy a few albums and get to my own conclusions.. OH MAN it was like love at first sight, erm, Listen! LOL and then right in that same year the movie SINGLES was released and the WILSON sisters were in the soundtrack singing a rendition of "BATTLE OF EVERMORE"...oh em gee.. I went totally insane! In like two weeks I had bought all Zeppelin albums and two or three years later I got to see JIMMY PAGE and ROBERT PLANT in Sao Paulo... Love the BAND.. simply LOVE THEM!
Can't believe he did that solo in one take on the album version.

Saw Plant 3 times now. Entered the concert scene too late to see Zep. The 1st time I saw Plant... it was nuts! Vancouver July 1987 (or '88). Super hot. Security lost control. Floor demolished (chairs all squished flat and the floor had 3X the amount it should have).
My buddy and I entered the PNE with a set of hollow binoculars which we filled with a 26er of Wisers. I bought 2 big cokes and filled the cokes with my 13 ozs. stretching out in the lower bowl with all the vacant seats from board hoopers who left for the swaying, frenetic madness on the floor... I decided I needed to get to the front.
Long story shorter... I squeezed and squeezed my way through a dense mass. I got nestled in between 2 Hells Angels. Things were so tight that wherever they went... I went like I was a remora on a shark- fortunately... they were going center front. Very near the front, the big one in front of me turned and questioned his buddy whether they should keep trying or bail. He then looked down at me (I'm a former college basketball player at 6'2") and the expression on his face told me I was no longer welcome between them.
I offered him one of my 'cokes' (a gesture of good faith). He took it and took a pull. The look on his face was priceless. He wasn't expecting a nice rye and coke when he took that massive swig. He looked at me and I gestured it was for him and his partner. I was knighted. The three of us continued to the front- nobody on the floor was challenging the 3 of us (2 being massive gladiators). We got there. Center stage. Front row. 3 songs and I had to bail out and get back to the seats.
Drenched in sweat and feeling pumped getting to the front of that mob with my newfound pals, this marks one of my finest concert moments ever!
