I'm assuming that Presence is an Aussie pressing? You should send that to me! That album is just plain awesome. It doesn't get any better than Achilles' Last Stand. Pure genius. Vocals recorded from a wheelchair even. I picked up a cool Zep boot yeaterday. Live at Kezar Stadium,San Francisco, June 2,1973. A 29 minute Moby Dick! It never gets old to me. There's Led Zeppelin, then there's the rest...

Nice, good to see a fellow 'Presence' fan, it doesn't get a lot of love like some of the rest of Led Zep's other albums. This is actually a Canadian pressing, though I brought it in Australia. Has the embossed text on the front and logo on the back, unlike later pressings that weren't embossed. Sounds great too!

Has anyone visited thegardentapes.co.uk? This is the guy Page makes reference to "keeping him busy". Pretty wild how this guy can deconstruct the live recordings and figure out where each piece comes from. Dude has a lot of time on his hands.

I kinda like how that site calls Jimmy out on some of the fakeness of Zep's live recordings.
Ordered my deluxe vinyl editions! Very excited that this has finally started happening. ... Amazon.ca is actually a bit cheaper than Amazon.com, which is kind of strange.
With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy. ~ Desiderata
What's awesome and gets little love is In Through The Outdoor. It's not all good, but Carouselambra contains some of Jimmy Pages finest work. In the Evening has a great slow part. I'm Gonna Crawl is proper.

Damn! At least space this shit out! Gonna break me!
Lol in the link I just posted, Page mentions IV would probably be coming out later this year.
Hey, if you're gonna go broke, at least it'll be worth it.

Picked up Celebration Day on vinyl a few weeks back and finally played it over the weekend. Wow that's an incredible live album.

Led Zeppelin's earliest concerts are the stuff of legend, but most of them weren't taped and are completely lost to history, including a 1969 show at Boston's Tea Party where they played a nearly four-hour show that included the bulk of their set twice in a row and an impromptu set of encores featuring covers like "I Saw Her Standing There" and "Please Please Me" by the Beatles. (Ninety minutes did survive, but that's just the first set.) "I remember it well," says Plant. "I remember a guy banging his head on the stage until it bled."
Zep finally getting sued by Spirit for Stairway To Heaven. Like Jake Holmes (who took like 40 years to sue for Dazed and Confused), Spirit is obviously trying to get royalties from the upcoming reissues.....which they deserve.....but 40 years later? Come on......
I think Page may have got some inspirtation from it, but it's not close enough to warrant plagiarism when you compare it to other landmark examples. Chord progressions have no protection and I don't think these are the same anyway. The melody lines have to match and those definitely don't.
If Spirit wins this one, they open themselves up to lawsuits from a few artists that have earlier tunes that are just as similar to Taurus. Seems to me that whoever is in charge of their interests sees a big payday with the upcoming Zep reissues and is getting greedy.
