Ya and "Jack and Jill" has grossed over 70 million dollars at the Box Office. Ticket sales don't mean dick in terms of quality. You know who was second on the tour list? Taylor Swift0 -

7 million tickets. They're obviously doing something right if 7 million people are going to see their show.
This is precisely WHY U2 is overrated. Mass appeal doesn't mean something is good. Again I cite Taylor Swift, Justin Beiber etc. How many millions of people went and saw T-Swift? Yes, theyre doing something right in terms of mass appeal, but were talking overrated here0 -

U2 are not overrated. They never have been. They've had some of the biggest tours in music history. They changed and redefined stadium shows. They've sold over 150 million albums. They have some of the biggest selling albums in music history. They've won 22 Grammy's, tied with Stevie Wonder for the most.
I guess you believe Elvis, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, and The Rolling Stones are not good because, as you say, "Mass appeal doesn't mean something is good".Shows: 6.27.08 Hartford, CT/5.15.10 Hartford, CT/6.18.2011 Hartford, CT (EV Solo)/10.19.13 Brooklyn/10.25.13 Hartford

Not all bands with mass appeal are over rated (such as elvis, beatles, zeppelin, stones) but all over-rated bands have an elements of mass appeal (such as U2)0
