oh well, no $85 ticket drop for Philly for tonight's show, so I am giving up. I guess that's $170 saved, I really had my hopes up too.

Web vote is up for Philly 2. Some good choices. I voted for Can't You Hear Me Knocking just to get Taylor on the stage some more.

    Choices

    1. Can't You Hear Me Knocking
    2. Shine A Light
    3. Fool To Cry
    4. Moonlight Mile
    5. Some Girls

Yea, i would've voted for CYHMK too(for the same reason: Mick Taylor).

I think it would've been GREAT if they played ALL five of those songs.

Fool To Cry is one of the two songs (the other being Melody) I don't give a shit about on Black And Blue. Some Girls is OK for a minute or so, but then I get bored with it. I did enjoy it on Shine A Light, but that was enough for me. Plus they've been doing so many songs from the Some Girls album recently.

But I wouldn't turn my nose up at them adding all those songs as you said, it would be cool. But if I'm playing make believe I'm throwing in songs like Hand Of Fate, Let Me Go, Dance Little Sister (w/Mick Taylor), Monkey Man, Flip The Switch, Rocks Off, and the Holy Grail... Jigsaw Puzzle. Shit like that.

Philly 2 wasn't all that surprising either, with the exception of the live debut of "Under The Boardwalk" w/Aaron Neville. Still though, that's a pretty nice surprise. Not one of my favorite tracks or anything, not even one of my favorite covers, but about as rare as you can get having never played live in 49 years.

Glastonbury setlist was pretty good. Really put some surprises in there which I didn't figure they'd do in a festival spot. They played Factory Girl which they've only played once on the tour, and they played 2000 Light Years From Home which they haven't played since 1990.

Me too, happy to see it though. When I was a teenage stoner it was one of my favorite songs. I didn't even own Their Satanic Majesties Request at the time, it was on Through the Past, Darkly (Big Hits Vol. 2) though, which was one of my earliest Stones purchases.

It doesn't always translate into the greatest live song, but I thought that Glastonbury version was pretty great. Sounds much better than the Steel Wheels/Urban Jungle tour versions to me. But I don't particularly care for any of the arrangements or the sound of that tour (from guitar sound to Mick's deep vocals). So it's nice to hear the song outside of that tour.

The Stones have released Hyde Park 2013 (not sure if it's 1 or 2 or a compilation of the best of both) on iTunes for a limited time only (4 weeks). Just downloaded it and the sound is great!

    Great song.

I've been really hitting "Loving Cup" a lot in the last few months. That and "Worried About You." About 3:30 into that song...whoa. Just incredible.

Stones Planet Brazil is reporting that "Sticky Fingers" will be released in December in a Deluxe Edition with outtakes and bonus material similar to Exile and Some Girls. I don't know if they're always right, but every rumor I've read from Stones Planet Brazil has turned out to be correct, as far as I can remember. There are some good outtakes and alternate versions from this era. "Sway" with an extended Taylor guitar solo, "Brown Sugar" with Eric Clapton, Cocksucker Blues, etc.

Word is (this whole thing still hasn't been announced, but the sources are reliable) that the complete Marquee Club '71 show is going to be released with the Sticky Fingers reissue. That would be so awesome. I love the footage that has leaked.

This version of Live With Me is the shit. Similar to the Ya-Ya's version but Bobby is playing a much larger role. Hope to hell they release this.

  • Some type of announcement is supposed to come tomorrow. It seems to hint at Hyde Park, maybe a video release since they already did the audio release, although that wasn't a complete show. Somebody on IORR is saying that a German radio station is announcing a raffle for Stones Tickets, raising speculation they may be about to announce another round of shows. But I can't tell you how many times some radio station has announced a band would be touring and it turned out to be bullshit. And the teaser announcement says that it specifically has to do with the Hyde Park shows, so I'm thinking it's merch and not tour.

Everybody should find" LA75" on Bootleg Rambler or something. I don't know the rules about linking to a non-official release. But it's part of Captain Acid's Project and is one of the best bootlegs I've heard. Not up there with Brussels, Ft. Worth Express or Leeds, but a great bootleg from '75. Great sound. It's not the same show as the official LA Friday release, that was the show from the 13th and this is from the 11th.

I'm really tempted to fly down to Adelaide for this. But not sure how I feel about a stadium show. Then again, this is probably the last time Australia will see the Stones.

There are going to be other Australian shows and one in New Zealand which they haven't announced details for yet, maybe they won't all be in big stadiums. I've never seen them in an arena or club or anything, just big outdoor stadium-type shows, and they were still awesome. I was lucky to be pretty close though, I might feel differently if I had been far from the stage.
