Probably here not the best place to ask (very biased to say at least), but how do other concerts look like in Buenos Aires? Lets say when someone like Metallica, Depeche Mode or whoever comes over, do they get such a respons, singalongs, even "guitar solos singalongs" ?
    Yeap.

That's the perfect video to show haha.

Back to the BA show itself, I still cannot get over it.

The slow emotional start with Release, followed by the punch of Go, the crowd singing in every song, Stone expecting and calling for the singing in riff parts, which I noticed especially in DTE and Given to Fly, and of course in Jeremy! The smiles in everyone's faces. Them playing Smile. And also acknowledging Neil Young with Keep on rocking in the free world. Garden which I had never heard live before. The beautiful cover of Mother, and everyone sort of quieted down to listen to that. So many special moments. Black was unreal and so was Betterman. Mike played unbelievable solos and was on fire all night, as were all, jumping around, smiling, grooving. People were jumping for Betterman (during the chorus) just as if it were a fast tempo song. I guess I was jumping too. There was just so much energy in the air.

    So beautiful.
I am just a dreamer, but you are just a dream...
If I knew where it was I would take you there.

True! I was surprised by all the jumping during Betterman, put the video on mute u'd bet it's freakin' DTE. haha. That was awesome.

I remember during Alive, I had absolutely no voice or energy left for the "hey" part but it kept coming out of me, it was in the air!

I had never been in a situation where my throat HURTS from singing... but I kept going, cause I had to. haha.

    Ahhh... Epic... just fucking epic.

  • Watching the videos...UAUUUUU congrats Argentina, you're an awesome crowd! INSANE, but also insanely fantastic! If I got chills in Brazil, imagine in Baires? Maybe I should give another chance to change my experience in Argentinian concerts...

FYI PJforLife, all off us, real fans, no matter where we're from, know the words for every song, not just TEN and we collect the rare stuff, even paying 5 times what you pay there in the US and killing ourselves to find it.

I've been to concerts in the US (including MSG, but not PJ), Europe, Australia and SA and each have its pros and cons, we're just saying it's more energetic, is a latin thing, we're all good, but different.

The next american leg of the tour I'll definitely be there, have been planning for it, hopefully at MSG, who knows?

I was in La plata at 13 of november.

I say "WTF!!!! the show was the best of show of my life!"

They played 34 song, 6 covers, and the people was crazy all the night and singed every melody and riff.

Eddie and Jeff was all show looking to the heaven, and jumping in the stage.

Really great, best band, best crow really

Now that I am back home in South Africa having travelled to South America for the first time ever for the BA show, all I can is....what a trip, what a city, what fantastic people, what a day, what a night, what a concert, what a band, what a setlist and my God, what a crowd!!!

    Long live Pearl Jam! 8-);):):D

Please let's not argue about which crowd is better or petty things like that, that is not what music is about.

Having been there I can say it was the best show of my life. It is always special to see a show in your hometown but when there is such a connection between the band and the crowd, there is just nothing that can top that, no matter what songs are played or are not.

The faces on all band members, the way Stone could not stop smiling and mouthing every song, Mike who is mental, Jeff jumping around all the time. Eddie's face beaming. The band just stopping to stare at the crowd, pointing out things they saw. Stone inciting the crowd to sing the guitar parts while he jumped up and down... Matt who is phenomenal and was fooling around after YL, pretending that he would jump into the crowd (which Eddie also did after that) and Boom also looking at the crowd and touching his heart.

I have never seen Stone as active as yesterday night, it was a glory to see. Each time i looked at a band member I could not help but smile.

Release as an opener to me is perfect, an emotional start for what would be heart-wrenching and gut-wrenching show. Never before have I enjoyed the band-crowd interaction as much as last night. Go got all the crowd going, and the energy never stopped. Old and new songs were welcomed enthusiastically, it was a non-stop party.

Highlights for me were Release, Immortality, Garden, You Are, Smile, Mother (impeccable cover), Betterman with the extended tags, the big sing alongs in Jeremy and Alive. The sheer fury of DTE. Black was perfect, with the we belong together tag and all the crowd singing along. I believe in Miracles was fitting, since Argentina is huge on the Ramones.

A perfect night that has me smiling from ear to ear, on the inside and out.

Thank you Pearl Jam. Please come back soon.

I could not have said this any better. I feel exactly the same. That night will remain truly special to me...always. 8-)

It was an amazing experience and part of me a week later is still in Buenes Aires. I got hopelessly lost getting out of the stadium and a very friendly Argentinian girl offered to help call my friend Juan and I was able to reunite with my group. I loved everything about Buenes Aires and hope to return someday...when PJ tour there again! ;)

  • I thought 2 weeks for write this post...

I'm looking for words to describe this and I have a conclusion: I'm so proud to be a part of this audience, was unforgetable!! Is ordinary you go a Pearl Jam concert for sing a songs and feels like emotion of the band but in this concert you felt emotion by the crowd. It's so crazy!!

I knew the Argentinians energy in the concerts, me and my friends decided to go (I'm Brazilian) because of the concerts in 2005, the sounds of crowd, falling love to us... we went to La plata without knowing exactly how to go back to Buenos Aires (there is a scheduling limitations in relation to transport). For us was the last concert we were attending and we were only too happy to be there. But we (not only us as the band) was surprised by a public that seems to be singing to a football team, jumps in Release, don't have other words... really es un sentimiento y no puedo parar.

Congratulations Argentina! Now I never go attending a Rock Concert in Brazil hahaha

I know exactly what you mean, Rosinhaa, it was a beautiful feeling. There was so much joy in the air, really like a celebration.

I have gone to Pearl Jam shows in Brazil too, and I love doing so, but this time around I couldn't make it.

If I had my way, I would do all the South America tour, next time PJ visits. :D
