I don't understand why you attend Pearl Jam shows in the United States if the crowds are that bad. I'm pretty sure we know what a rock concert is; everyone reacts differently at a show.
Congrats South America! You guys are getting some amazing shows!
My mate here hasn't answered, but that's ok, I'll do it for him.
Cos the friends and the band were there.
BA is different for us. Poster and record collectors have their holy grails. For the likes of Dimi and I, BA is THE holy grail for the sheer fact that the people in the crowd, so, so, so many of them... they get it. The English translation of that chant they did, 'Pearl Jam, it's a feeling.' THAT, right there. The holy grail. And they're not afraid to express it. They'll express themselves with a fucking loudspeaker, and bounce like a mexican wave of people on pogo sticks. Crazy motherfuckers.
Respect.
115 bucks for half a haircut by a novice? I want my money back!
Please let's not argue about which crowd is better or petty things like that, that is not what music is about.
Having been there I can say it was the best show of my life. It is always special to see a show in your hometown but when there is such a connection between the band and the crowd, there is just nothing that can top that, no matter what songs are played or are not.
The faces on all band members, the way Stone could not stop smiling and mouthing every song, Mike who is mental, Jeff jumping around all the time. Eddie's face beaming. The band just stopping to stare at the crowd, pointing out things they saw. Stone inciting the crowd to sing the guitar parts while he jumped up and down... Matt who is phenomenal and was fooling around after YL, pretending that he would jump into the crowd (which Eddie also did after that) and Boom also looking at the crowd and touching his heart.
I have never seen Stone as active as yesterday night, it was a glory to see. Each time i looked at a band member I could not help but smile.
Release as an opener to me is perfect, an emotional start for what would be heart-wrenching and gut-wrenching show. Never before have I enjoyed the band-crowd interaction as much as last night. Go got all the crowd going, and the energy never stopped. Old and new songs were welcomed enthusiastically, it was a non-stop party.
Highlights for me were Release, Immortality, Garden, You Are, Smile, Mother (impeccable cover), Betterman with the extended tags, the big sing alongs in Jeremy and Alive. The sheer fury of DTE. Black was perfect, with the we belong together tag and all the crowd singing along. I believe in Miracles was fitting, since Argentina is huge on the Ramones.
A perfect night that has me smiling from ear to ear, on the inside and out.
Thank you Pearl Jam. Please come back soon.

How many people were there in attendance for this great show?
My guess is about 45,000 since I think that is the stadium's capacity.
But I am not sure on this (that is the capacity)
It sure felt like a sold out venue.
I am just a dreamer, but you are just a dream... If I knew where it was I would take you there.
I feel like I have to say THANKS to the band, and to the people. I was at the show, I'm from Argentina and it was my third show (2x 2005 and this; plus I'm flying to Chile and Perú after tomorrow). And the thing is... man... THANKS TO EVERYONE who attended the show last night. Just THANKS.
In my life I've been to around 350 shows of MANY different bands: from the Rolling Stones and Bob Dylan to Kiss and Mettalica... from Iggy and the Stooges to RATM and Sting... I don't know, many many bands... And NEVER EVER I experienced what happened with Pearl Jam the three nights the played in BUenos Aires. EVERYONE sang as LOUD as POSSIBLE ALL THE TIME... I mean, in 2005 I cried because of the songs and saying to myself "I can't believe I'm actually hearin BLACK live", or something like this; but yesterday the thing that made my emotional wasn't just that... What i LOVED from yesterday was that feeling about DOING A CONCERT TOGETHER. MAKING IT HAPPEN TOGETHER. Five guys on stage, yes, and 45K all around them. That's it. A concert is something that happens once, and then vanish. Yes we can listen to the bootlegs, but it (THAT SPECIFIC MOMENT) won't happen again. And I'm sure a concert is made together... I'm grateful to have been there, part of a real concert made by all of us at that instant. Thanks.
Ps. Thank you to all in the forum who speaks that nice about argentinean crowd. It makes my proud. Spcecial thanks to DIMI for being such an argentinean enthusiastic... man, we'll meet someday next SA tour, you should come someday.
Thanks to all the great people from all over the world I've met this weeken, The Rob, Mags, Bong, Andrea, Sergio, Junior, Pedro, etc. etc. etc.
As Diego said, the concert was made together, both crowd and band.
A beautiful thing to witness and to be part of.
Regardless of the setlist, the sound quality, if a song is fumbled or any other million details one could pick on the essence of the show, the power, the interaction between crowd and band - that is what made it.
Maybe it is one of those "you had to be there" shows. To me it was superb, so very special, and I am so happy that I could be there.

Hi all also just read the wole thing. There is just so much I can say about last night I would not be able to stop! So here are a few words. And of course thanks to an amazing, amazing band. So, so genuine to their fans it is unbelievable. We love you guys....always....
Dear all you wonderful people!
Thought i would shoot off a quick one to all of you while i still have a few days in this wonderfully exhuberant city. Firstly I must congratulate all of you who have done all the Brazil shows and are going on to Chile and Peru. If I had planned better i woud have taken in some more shows. Next time round I am going to do that as I am hoping to catch up with Rob, hopefully in this lifetime!
Well what can I say. Yesterday was an incredible day and one of the best experiences of my life, show number 5. By the time the show ended I was all on my own and got hopelessly lost but thanks to the beatiful people of this country who are always so willing to help, I was able to get hold of Juan who promptly came to get me.
What can I say about the show. There were times when I was tempted to walk towards the back because the crowds are very different here but did not want to lose my place. All the people I was with before the show started like Pedro and Juan Manuel just got lost in the crowd. I was hoping for a Release or Long Road start (Rob knows) and I got Release so I am over the moon. There are so many songs that stand out for me and a lot that I have not seen live before, but I must mention that Amongst the Waves, You are, Mother, and Smile were amazing to say the least.
I will keep in contact and want to thank all of you for an incredible experience. Those of you going on to more shows have a blast. Special thanks to Juan, Diego and Pedro who were always looking out for me and checking that I was ok.
What an incredible, incredible time. If any of you ever come to South Africa, I will be very upset if you do not come and stay with me.
Thanks again all you wonderful people!
I will be in spirit with all of you going to Chile and Peru.
Just came back from Buenos Aires...tired, really tired, with no voice, with no money...but i´m so happy!
We had a great great show. I loved the energy on the air...that stadium is a great venue, people was crazy and Pearl Jam was so excited.
Loved the setlist, loved Smile, Mother, You Are, Garden, Inmortality...and every single minute of the show.
I was with my four brothers and some of our best firends, so it was a really special night to me. Some of this friends weren´t big fans of the band, and haven´t hear them live too much...since yesterday, Pearl Jam became one of their Top bands! They thanked me and my brothers for inviting them to join us, cuz the show overcame their expectatios for far!
Thank you Pearl Jam. Just a big Thanks.
Hope getting the bootleg soon...and most of all, hope next time won´t take another 6 years to come back!
i have been to all brazilian shows this year plus the one yesterday in La Plata, and i all i have to say is: its so much better in person than via youtube lol
seriously, it was the craziest and most absurd rock concert ive ever been. uncomparable. as a brazilian, i can say there can be no argue about how INSANE our brothers and neighbors from argentina are when it comes to rock concerts. much more passionate and excited. they really feel the songs they are listening to. really ibncredible and admirable.
of course, that doesnt mean we brazilians are not passionate rock fans. we are, but in our own way, like the americans, the greeks, whoever may be. theres no point in having a stupid competition about that. even so because the argentinian crowds wil always win hahahahaha
i came here to buenos aires to make a dream come true, and im pretty sure i will go home with much more than that in my heart.
thank you argentina. thank you, pearl jam. you both will always be in my heart.
I am myself like you, somehow...

LUCKY SA FANS!
Why Go was not on the original setlist, so it was a little extra thing for us added to the second encore!
That was the only change in the setlist (I saw a picture of it someone posted)
I am sure everyone appreciated this extra gift!!
I am just a dreamer, but you are just a dream... If I knew where it was I would take you there.
After the show ended I felt like Ed: "there are no words". Who cares about the setlist when such an extraordinary band with and epic song collection is giving its 200% in stage. The feeling of singing your heart out to Alive with 40,000 other souls is just unforgettable. As Ben Harper said "This is the greatest band in the world"!
Yeap, the sound wasn't the best because of the stadium shape and I'm still waiting for In Hiding, but how could I complain after almost 3 hours of sheer joy and happiness. Besides, IMHO our guys were on fire, very pumped up and tight. Also I'm guessing they chose the setlist just to hear us sing lots of guitar parts. My personal favorites were Release, Inmortality, Smile, Garden, Unthought Known, Alive (I'll never get tired of it) and Blood was terrific!!
So, here's to another 20 years of Pearl Jam! I also hope they stay together and touring for a long time so we can bring our baby girl to a show
I spent my holiday in Canada, and I went to 3 shows there, Toronto 1 and 2 and Vancouver, so I did't have money to follow this SA tour (that was anounced after...). I really wanted to go in all brazilian's dates and Buenos Aires... By the way, I like shows in North America, but it's so different, you feel safer, but it's kind of artificial...
Next SA Tour I will go to Buenos AIres and all brazilian's dates. I Allready have 7 pearl jam shows in my curriculum. Next time I will double this number!

Hope getting the bootleg soon...and most of all, hope next time won´t take another 6 years to come back!
seriously, it was the craziest and most absurd rock concert ive ever been. uncomparable. as a brazilian, i can say there can be no argue about how INSANE our brothers and neighbors from argentina are when it comes to rock concerts. much more passionate and excited. they really feel the songs they are listening to. really ibncredible and admirable.
of course, that doesnt mean we brazilians are not passionate rock fans. we are, but in our own way, like the americans, the greeks, whoever may be. theres no point in having a stupid competition about that. even so because the argentinian crowds wil always win hahahahaha
i came here to buenos aires to make a dream come true, and im pretty sure i will go home with much more than that in my heart.
thank you argentina. thank you, pearl jam. you both will always be in my heart.

Love it!
And it's not typical that the 2nd encore is longer than the 1st...usually the 1st is like 5 or 6 songs, and the 2nd 3 or 4. What a show this must have been, and the setlist? PFFFFTTT...UNBELIEVABLE!!!
LUCKY SA FANS!
Why Go was not on the original setlist, so it was a little extra thing for us added to the second encore!
That was the only change in the setlist (I saw a picture of it someone posted)
I am sure everyone appreciated this extra gift!!
I also hope they stay together and touring for a long time so we can bring our baby girl to a show
Greetings from Buenos Aires
I have a question about the song Mother ... did Ed split the vocals with anyone like Roger and David split verse / chorus?
Yes it was
No, he sang the whole song
Next SA Tour I will go to Buenos AIres and all brazilian's dates. I Allready have 7 pearl jam shows in my curriculum. Next time I will double this number!
