MSG 1 set a high bar. MSG 2 came so close and may have even tied it for me. I think on it's own, if MSG 1 hadn't happened, I'd probably think MSG 2 was just as amazing, but that first show in nearly 2 years really does stand out.

I was a little disappointed by the large number of repeats. Having been to a couple of 2-nighters, it felt like this one had the most repeats. I thought about this as they closed with Ledbetter and came to the conclusion, though, that if they had precisely repeated MSG 1's setlist and I knew it ahead of time, I still would have gone and loved it.

Highlights for me:

- I had a good laugh to Ed screwing up Betterman
- Black Diamond w/ Ace Frehley and Matt & Mike singing lead.
- Mike screwing up, stopping, and saying "I wrote that and fucked it up" (wait, was that MSG 1? it's all blending now)
- Rearviewmirror
- Garden
- Ed taking it down a notch for a campfire song....Lukin
- Ed saying he's been to 100 shows too, and saying it was Stone's 98th show

i had a great time this was my first PJ concert, and was completely blown away by both the band and the fantastic fan participation.

you really don't go to concerts anymore and see all the fans singing along to EVERY song like you do at a PJ concert. truly amazing.

one complaint though... a jam now and then is pretty cool, but for every song kinda gets annoying. i'd rather them take all the extra time they used for jamming and play another 2 or 3 songs.

also i wish eddie kept the politics to himself, even though the George Carlin quote was pretty great haha

With this being your first PJ show, then you wouldnt understand the jamming & the politics, thats just the way it is, but welcome !!!

Totally agree. I have a corporate job as well, but im passionate about music (ive been to over 300 concerts over the past 31 years) and absolutely love Pearl Jam. I live on the same subway line as the Garden so i can usually go home to change or Ill try bring clothes to work, but sometimes it doesnt work out and im just lucky to get to the show on time. And I would hope that people wouldnt judge me, particularly at a PJ show (where its supposed to be a good vibe), because im stuck with my uncomfortable work clothes, or i dont have as much hair as I used to, look like someone's dad, etc.

Can I just make a bold statement here now ? Why are people coming to shows to watch other people & see what they do & what they look like ? Aren't we here to see the band & enjoy the music ? If your here to people watch, sit on a corner in Manhattan & give up your tix to people who don't judge other fans. I see this happening a lot with other shows too, besides PJ, people are always worried about what everyone else is doing instead of what you paid money to see & enjoy, enough with this high school mentality. My sentiments exactly. I don't care what other people are doing, as long as ther not fucking with me. I know i'm ther for the band.

To the tall/big guy dressed in all black with sort of wild dark hair who walked to the back of the cancellation line offering up his two ten club tickets to MSG 2... THANK YOU!!!

And the seats (Stone's side a few rows up) were so awesome I couldn't believe my luck.

don't really know what to say... just got back home from my first show at MSG, first time in NY and only 4th PJ show...what to say...?

well, i can't enter into the "which night was better" argument and i don't care i loved night 2 and had a great time. also had a fun, but knackering time in NY doing all the tourist things. was also great to meet up with folks at McGarry's before the show, just a shame i couldn't get there earlier but shopping was part of the trade-off for being there in the first place

really, REALLY wanted to hear W.M.A and Who You Are so was gutted when i heard that they'd been played at MSG 1, so thankyou PJ for the repeats, i'm not going to start bitching about that!

thanks PJ, thanks NY and NYers, thanks 10c for the tix (no lottery win, but sec 8 row F was sweet), thanks to the pre-show party organisers (and attendees!)... ahhh, hugs all round (even one for Al, even if he didn't make it to night 2 "having a BBQ with d missus" ).

wish i was doing more shows but glad i could make one... next year... next tour... who knows...

rambling... must... go... to... bed...


p.s. spitting wine - looked to me that Ed spat/sprayed it up in the air, reminded me of Bruce...

p.p.s. was on BA 0178 flying back today and saw a guy with one of the cream (?) tour shirts, was going to say hello but was wedged in my seat between window and aisle... sorry!

yeah those MSG shows sort of are a blur to me too as far as little stuff like that because I sat in the exact same spot near the exact same people. All I know is night one was Spin the Black Circle and night two was RATS.

I say amen to that! Exactly, as long as no one is being an ass around me then I will compeltey not mind anyone and just enjoy for the band, that is the whole reasons why several people fly out, drive long hours and pay money for! They pay to see PJ and just to savour every single moment in the concert, who cares of the other people? And why judge someone just by their clothes? Clothes are nothing but a preventor from exploiting ourselves! And hey maybe some people had work and couldn't take off their clothes and so what if they go to a concert looking like that? Who the f cares? Nice to hear that two MSG's in a row are kicking ass! Really great to read all those reviews and I couldn't help but laugh when I read this "- Mike screwing up, stopping, and saying "I wrote that and fucked it up", that's pretty funny, thanks for mentioning that guljor94, cracked me up , wow, it seems like it was just yesterday that PJ started this mini tour lol....can you guys believe it's almost over?

I got back home yesterday from NY and still fighting the jetlag a bit, but with the sweet memories of the PJ shows I’m all right

I only had MSG1 tix, no lottery, but after the amazing show (and what a crowd) I couldn’t not try to get tix for MSG2. So Wednesday morning I just went to the Box Office and low and behold they just had some cancellations so I did get them. They were Partial View tickets, but..hey..I was going to see PJ again, so this was like winning the lottery anyway.
When I got to the concert the seats were behing the PA and surely when you were sitting down you could not see a much of the stage..but who is sitting during a PJ concert? Even before the guys hit the stage everyone jumped up and I had a perfect view of the band (section 10).
I would have kicked myself if I did skip this show.
Personnally I thought the crowd and the energy of MSG1 was better than MSG2, but nothing could top the setlist of MSG2 though. Release, Rats, Garden, RVM were the best moments for me.
When I combine the two shows they played nearly all my favorite songs. I couldn’t be happier. The boots are already bought

Thanks to the people who were standing around me in the merchandising queue on Wednesday: it made the wait easy!

So glad that I came (wasn't going to go on holiday this year, but I couldn't resist)

I don't normally care what people wear, I just thought it was a case of Manhattanites being pretentious and too cool for the room. Never seen the dress clothes at a PJ show before. My bad.

Awesome show. Never posted an official fanview but after allowing the memories of the show to cultivate in my brain for a few days, I must say that this show was ABSOLUTELY FUCKING AMAZING.

Both were, actually.

Having witnessed the band's legendary Astoria show in London in 2006 I didn't think anything would be able to top that.

I was wrong.

MSG night 2 was unbelieveable. When I picked the tickets up and saw we were in section 110 I didn't know just how much closer we'd be than the night before. Turns out, lots!. We were side stage of Mike and had a terrific view of the whole band. Everyone in section 110 was amazing, such a good bunch of folk to be around, even the very, very drunk blond guy whom looked like Fred from Scooby Doo who fell all the way down the steps during Betterman.....he was up and rocking again by Rear View Mirror.

Release was incredible as an opener, seeing all the front rows going buts was brilliant. Corduroy outstripped the night before, Rats was amazing, State of Love & Trust was one the highlights of the many highlights, the energy was up all the way through, Last Kiss to the back of the arena and Ace f**kin Frehley all made this a truly memorable night and when they finally cranked out Ledbetter it was a really moving moment for my wife and I as she walked down the aisle to that song last Summer.

Although the first night at MSG was great, night 2 blew it away completely.

You could spend the rest of you life going to gigs every single night and never see anything a hundreth as special as Pearl Jam at Madison Square Garden on 25th June 2008
