London rocked. Standing in the beer line before the show I could feel the vibe and knew it would be different than Kitchener. I loved Kitch....but that London gig was a more complete set list then the nighjt before in my opinion. Also the floor seats i had were great, the crowd was rowdy and into it most of the show. Hard to Imagine was incredible.
WE hadjust drove all the way from buffalo after working a half day, we couldnt wait to actually get some beers ...i almost laughed at the ladt when she told me you can only have one beer a person ...damn an they ment it to...after getting my one beer, my other buddy got in line to get me a beer as well...So now i have to beers sweeeeet ...not sweet as i was going up to my seat the usher shot me down ...needles to say we ended up with six beers that me and my other buddy had to go up to our seats an then back down to get are beer oye i tell ya ...Sorry to section 105 row H for makin you get up all those times just so i can get a buzz I stayed at the Comfort inn ,had no probs I even got the last parking spot ....London is a cool little town ,i would like to go back to tour around the city alittle bit ...I went to the hamilton show as well . I have to say that Hamilton is the best PJ show that i have been to . Not by mmuch though . I thouhgt the fans at the London show where much louder than my litle ears have ever herd at a show ...well besides that backstreet boys concert the other night amn can them boys ROCK .........ahhhhhhh ya right ....love Canada love Canadians u guys are always cool ...
Got lost in some cornfields.
Got stuck in a (haunted) church.
Found London.
Got stuck behind some dude who should NOT have a license.
Found the hellhole known as Comfort Inn.
Attempted to find parking for 45 minutes.
Gave up, paid $8 for parking. (Still got a ticket)
Hurried to go stand in line for over 90 minutes to check-in
Got tickets.
Met amazing fans.
Drank; mercifully.
Amazing show.

Stumbled home to said crappy hotel, curtesy of moloko21 - da man!
Became ill.
Crashed for some zZzzZzz.
Off to Hamilton.
to anyone who went into the bar right across from the venue afterwards........how rockin was that? All they were playing in the bar was PJ songs and the moniters had Live at the Garden playing!!!!!!!!!!! And the Jack and Coke was great too!!!!:D
Barry said “it was his first ride in a Chevy”. I wish I had rented a Camaro but, this was no pleasure ride we were on a mission. I gave him a map and told him he was my navigator. We had plenty of time and I thought it might be fun to have a lad fresh from Ireland help me find London, Ontario, Canada. We find the John Labatt (lock down) Centre with no problems and pickup our tickets.
3:00 PM check-in baby!!! Downtown Comfort Inn is now part of my Pearl Jam legend; the business owner that was terrified of Pearl Jam fans. Before he had even met a single one of us! The Downtown Comfort Inn ownership and personal were just plain scared of us! I don’t know why. It did seem like this PJ tour was following the Back Street Boys tour for some reason (we had to cancel out their vibe from a couple towns). As some of our posse approached the front desk of the Downtown Comfort Inn we witnessed them just finish checking-in an older couple for one their more expensive rooms. But once WE got to the front desk the owner stalled my friend (faking he couldn’t find his name in the computer) and an employee working at the front desk also flat out told me “NO CHECK-INS until 3:00 PM. This was not a cool place to stay. It must have been the Back Street Boy’s fans (more canceling to do). Quite simply the Walper Terrance Hotel in Kitchener was ready, willing and experienced. Real professionals! Who cares about the Downtown Comfort Inn anyway? We had a pre-party to get to and fast.
The sky was clear and the day was hot and sunny once again. Everybody found Rockwaters and started getting into concert mode. Cheers to PISSBOTTLMAN and Spencer for they really put together a great pre-party and fundraiser. Rockwaters was a good choice (a big room with very good service).
The air conditioning in this venue was the first and only (of my three shows) that actually seemed to be working and at a above average rate. The JLC is a nice modern arena with lots of room to move around. Ton’s of concession stands everywhere. No problems buying beer and drinks in this party palace. The cannabis/smoking police were kind of funny. The only arrests I read for this show all had something to do with alcohol. Many TV screens (HDTV) (showing Monday Night Football) and lounge chairs spread all around the main concourse.
Hearing Oceans live was a first for me. Hail, Hail Canada! In fact I got no guns either. Is this Black Red Yellow? Because I have no code! You are; was a riot. I wish, I wish Ed remembers all the lyrics tonight (he did). Mike’s lead guitar for Nothing As It Seems keeps me staring. During Off He Goes I coded. Hard to imagine this was played. Tonight was Stones night, right from the start. From the plaid pants to his hi-jacking Rearviewmirror’s live jam. Later the “let Stone sing” sign and chant, which led to his center stage dance for us. Alive as a young child maybe you have memories of your favorite adult who would sometimes take you by the hands and start spinning in circles until you were airborne flying in circles? I think Ed was trying to do this with the little girl he brought onstage. But she looked pretty scared just being onstage. Ed saw this (I think) and switched to a slow dance and the kid started to loosen up a bit. Oh well, kiss a fish. I have a grievance about going home tomorrow but I smile anyway.
Saying good-bye to my new friends after last call on Monday night was very sad for me. It was like saying good-bye to close family that I may not see for awhile.
Driving home was uneventful except for all the highway patrol cars out patrolling. This was pretty much the whole way home. Crossing the border was uneventful and home was getting closer.
My 2005 Pearl Jam Canadian Tour included 1 Pearl Jam fanatic, 1 2005 Chevrolet Malibu, 2 Countries, 5 U.S. States, 1 Canadian Province, 3 Pearl Jam concerts and I drove completely around 3 of the Great Lakes: Lake Michigan, Lake Superior and Lake Heron, all in 7 days.
Touring brothers and sisters I’ll miss each and every one of you (until next time).
My Ten Club tickets for this tour have been a dream come true. It’s still amazing to me that Pearl Jam is able to secure every ticket, in every venue they play for us Ten Club members and it’s even more amazing that the tickets end up in our hands and stay there. I couldn’t find anyone at the concerts I attended that was seated on the floor that wasn’t a Ten Club member! Rock on friends; see you at HOB’s Chicago October 5, Mark

The Netherlands 2006!?!??
I know it has taken me awhile, but I am always so busy right after vacation. Anyway, here it goes!
London was my favorite concert. I quite say specifically what it was that made it my favorite of Kitchener, London, and Hamilton. Maybe it was because it was the only one where we were on the floor, but I thought it was awesome. Rearview Mirror blew me away. I loved hearing HailHail, Not for You, Nothings as It Seems, Hard to Imagine, and State of Love and Trust. In My Tree is one of my favorite songs, and they played it all three concerts, but I just don't like the current version like I do the studio version so I don't get too excited about it.
London seemed like a great town, but we didn't have much time to explore it. We had a problem at the Comfort Inn as has already been discussed here. The manager really screwed up and to make matters worse he got in defensive mode instead of apologizing and trying to correct things. He even kicked one guy out for complaining. I spoke to the guy at Rockwaters before the concert. I hope he slept o.k. in his car. I did some complaining too. Thank goodness he didn't kick us out. Maybe he realized he had made a mistake when he kicked the poor guy out initially. The guy hadn't been rude or anything. He was just expressing his dissatisfaction with the service. Anyway, the next morning when we were checking out the hotel manager apologized to me profusely. He said that the "system had been down" which was why he couldn't check people in before 3:00 p.m. He didn't tell us that when he turned us away at 2:00 p.m. however. We were told "no check in before 3:00 p.m." The room was nice, however, and it was clean. We were lucky and got parking, but many didn't. I think the hotel should have alternate arrangements or should have at least advised people when they made reservations that there was insufficient parking. When I called to ask about parking I was told the hotel had parking available, and failed to say that there could be a problem.
Rockwater's was great! Great beer, decent food, and a large space for everyone. I had a blast there hanging out with my new PJ crew Fiti, PatricSaintIII, mattp and Ms. mattp, and of course PBM and PBW. I also had fun at the concert with my "seat buddies" Leash and Nullifidian.
I understand the Crohn's fundraiser was a success too, and it was acknowledged by Mike at the concert!
I am listening to the London boot right now and reliving it! Not quite the same as being there though.

after finally getting enough room on my credit card to buy the bootleg i just HAD TO say that the moment where stone stepped up to the mic and said "all i ever wanted to do was dance"(and not sing) HAD TO be the funniest thing i have ever seen on stage. it's funny reliving that moment through the bootleg cause i can just revisualize stone's butt wigglin/dancing while the music played after he stepped up to the mic and said that.
live moments like that are a one of a kind and they are the very reason why i love this band so much. a completely spontaneous moment and amazingly funny.
and then mike took over the mic and said his thanks. wow!

"We paced ourselves and we didn't rush through it and we tried to be as creative as our collective minds would let us be over some course of time instead of just trying to rush through a record"
I think this is a show that goes a little underrated. It was so great. The setlist. The rarities. Fantastic versions of the hits. What did we got more? the Stone dance. the Thank you from Mike that was definitely another highlight for me. Hard to Imagine. I remember leaving that building with a very, very big smile on my face.
...
And I remember getting quite drunk at the Rockwater afterwards.
I got this bootleg just yesterday, and laughed so much at the Let Stone Sing chant, and what i imagined followed (stone dancing)
I laugh just at the mental pictures

The London show was the first concert I went to...I'm 16...it was more amazing than I could ever imagine. My sister and I had seats behind the stage, right above Boom. We had to take different seats and we were scared but we ended up in the lower bowl, almost parallel to the stage but in front, and about six rows back. We were stunned although we would have been anyway! It was so touching when Ed brought the little girl on stage...and hearing everyone yell "Let Stone sing, Let Stone sing" and the band started to play! I'm in love with Stone since he shook his ass for us all.
Wicked show...i feel so lucky
Hamilton was good too!
You are lucky girl to have that as your first concert. If you are like me you will always remember your first concert. I was 15 and saw Journey and Electric Light Orchestra at Racer Arena at Murray State University in Murray, Kentucky. I remember who I was with, where I sat, and how great it was.

The London concert (where I live) was the fourth time I have seen PJ perform live since they started touring. My son and daughter went with me and my son was about 13 or so when we first saw them together. He is 26 now! But fans we are for sure. Well I have to tell you what happened the week after. My wife and daughter and I were in Toronto, on the weekend before PJ played the ACC in Toronto. We were shopping in the Eaton Centre (SEARS) on Yonge St. We were on the food court level down from the street level about 300 pm in the afternoon and I was waiting for my wife and daughter who were just about to leave a food stand after buying a drink. I was waiting in the aisle way about 15 feet away from them when for some reason or another I happened to turn to my right and amongst the huge crowd of people shopping and walking by, I saw Jeff Ament right beside me. I could not believe my eyes and decided to go up to him and say hello. Not as a crazed fan or anything like that, but just to say "Thanks for the music over the years". Well he stopped, I was able to introduce myself, my wife and daughter and we talked about the concert in London, talked about the fact that the Band had stayed in Toronto all week and had gone out from there for quite a few of the concerts. Jeff said they were having an amazing trip through Canada, really enjoying the crowds and the whole experience. He talked briefly about his being able to stay "under the radar" while being out shopping for the most part. Which he said was not that easy with Ed or Stone. Jeff looked just like all the other tourists in town that weekend wearing a simple white T shirt, khaki shorts and sport shoes carrying a couple of shopping bags and wearing his sunglasses up on his forehead. I just could not believe my luck in seeing him and getting to meet him....there was no hurry or pressure for him to leave and I was able to say what I wanted and to Thank him for all the years of great music. He really appreciated that, we said goodbye and he left. I was in shock afterwards, called my son at home on my cell, since he did not come with us, and he could hardly believe it either, certainly wishing he had been there with us. Jeff if you ever read this, please know that your kindness and down to earth attitude was very refreshing. You are sincerely a nice fellow.
Great story LongtimePJfan. I would love to talk to Jeff. I get the feeling that he is the strongest environmentalist of the group and I would love to talk to him about that.
