Wow. Fucking amazing show. It's the second time I've seen them and both times I just stumbled into tickets the day of the show, quite by accident every time. Kinda like a "surprise! guess what we're doing tonight?" haha! I think it's fate.
Anyways, the setlist was amazing! I saw them at the Ampitheatre in T.O. a couple years ago and they played a lot of songs that I was hoping they would play in T.O. but never did, so that was really nice!
Jeremy - by far my favourite highlight song from the show. the crowd was REALLY into it and it was just like one great cathartic release right at the end. I was like "wow...fucking wow!". I'm still trying to come down from that emotional high. wow
I loved it when the crowd broke into a spontaneous "HEY! HEY!" when the girl was on stage. Can't remember if it was during Even Flow or Alive, but it gave me chills...
And the wave started up by the crowd was awesome considering they broke into Oceans to start their set. Perfect.
heh heh. And as sidenote, I got a wicked whistle in right before rearviewmirror (I think) that friggin echoed throughout the whole arena. That musta made the boot!
Great show! Much like Tool, you don't go to see Pearl Jam live: you go to experience them...
Awesome show!
I'm torn between whether I liked this one better, Kitchener. I had way better seats for Kitchener, though, so I'm sort of biased that way. But the setlist for London was CRAZY! I got to hear 2 songs I've never heard before, not even on any of my boots (of which I have a decent number). Those 2 songs were Growing Up by Springsteen during the preset, and Bleed For Me by the Dead Kennedy's. I think Ed was just joking around when he said that the crowd was better than Kitchener. It was probably directed more to the people who were at Kitchener and heard him saying how much better they were than Edmonton, and so at London he was really just kind of mocking himself when he put down Kitchener. I say this especially because I think the crowd at Kichener was way better. London still had a great crowd, but Kitchener was insane. I think the boys were also a little more energetic in Kitchener (like at the end of the first set). But with songs like Hard to Imagine, Black Red and Yellow, Smile, plus the two mentioned above, this was an amazing night.
Ps. I love PJ fans, I met a bunch of people around me and they're all so cool. Even after the show I met people at Tim's, and it's like everyone's automatically great friends.
Hope to see some of you tonight!
"It was Luke's fault" (Ed after stumbling on Soon Forget at Kitchener '05)
We all started the wave right before PJ hit the stage, we all went NUTS! The wave lasted about 5 - 10 go arounds then the lights dimmed and we were off to the races!
I'm sure by the setlist you can see, it was truly, an "On" night for PJ.
Few Highlights:
Mike holding up the card we all signed for him at rockwaters
Ed saying "This is for the collectors" Before busting into Black, Red, Yellow
Ed saying "We only bring this out for special occasions" into Hard to Imagine
The LET STONE SING chant
Stone shaking his money maker for the audience for a while
GO to OPEN THE SECOND ENCORE!
The new song? after N4Y
SMILE!
And lastly, Madeline, the little girl who came up on stage with Eddie, he signed the tambourine for her and gave it to her along with the setlist. Wow.
Reading this gave me the chills! Sounds like an incredible evening.
Set list: Oceans, Breakerfall, Corduroy, Hail Hail, Animal, Glorified G, Black Red Yellow, In My Tree
Better Man, You Are, Not For You, Jeremy, Wishlist, Even Flow, Bleed for Me (by Dead Kennedys), Rearviewmirror
1st encore: Nothing As It Seems, Off He Goes, Hard To Imagine, Alive
2nd encore: Go, Grievance, Small Town, State of Love and Trust, Smile, Rocking In the Free World
*tears* why didnt i go to this show?!! :( HOLY CRAP!!! Keep the reviews comin!!!

ARGH! They are skipping Not For you! The one song I wanted to hear for the improv/new song/the music that occurred after not for you that no one has talked about!

Nice thing about that was I got out of the concert, found my way to my car, threw on the radio and they were playing Betterman from the 06-28-03 show I was at in Toronto. "great singin' toronto...". Oh man, I can't wait to see them again!

About the Not For You tag, I am not 100% certain, but it did sound alot like the Gorge tag.

I don't think anyone's mentioned it yet, but last night Mike got on the Mike and thanked everyone for their support of C&C and said that London raised $5000, and that they have been raising between $2000-5000 at every stop on the tour!
Very impressive showing!

On top of everything that made this show great, just thought I'd give big props to Keeley and the light crew - the light show during some songs last night were amazing
i don't think i've ever heard this song. now i have to hear it.
Bleed For Me
by Dead Kennedys
You've been hanging 'round
With an enemy of the state
Come with me to the building
That no-one stops to watch
C'mon bleed
C'mon bleed
C'mon bleed
Bleed for me
We'll strap you to a pipe
Electrodes on your balls
C'mon scream
C'mon writhe
Face down in a pool of piss
C'mon bleed
C'mon bleed
C'mon bleed
Bleed for me
In the name of world peace
In the name of world profits
America pumps up our secret police
America wants fuel
To get it, it needs puppets
So what's ten million dead?
If it's keeping out the Russians
We're well trained by the CIA
With Yankee tax money in Ft. Bragg
The Peace Corps builds us labor camps
When they think they're building schools
Ha Ha
When cowboy Ronnie comes to town
Forks out his tongue at human rights
Sit down, enjoy our ethnic meal
Dine on some charbroiled nuns
Try a medal on
Smile at the mirror as the cameras click
and make Big Business happy!
Anytime
Anywhere
Maybe you'll just disappear
C'mon bleed
C'mon bleed
C'mon bleed
Bleed!
P.S. I love Nothing As it Seems.
FYI...Eddie updated the lyrics to "cowboy Georgie"...great cover...have they played this one before?
This show was certainly a fan club dream come true...great setlist, rarities, great rapport with the band...Stone rocking out, shakin' his booty.
The young girl, whom Eddie offered a sip of his wine, but she declined. Although Canada has a lower drinking age, it's not quite that low Ed!
The Not for You tag was cool...definitely not a new song though, it seemed like some of the lyrics included Not for You...I just think it's a cool new outro...
There were a couple of improvs during the night and I can't wait to get back to Nashville and get my boot, but I wouldn't be surprised to hear them work their way onto the new CD.
