I was kinda upset that the line "Live from St. John's it's Saturday night." isn't in the boot at all.
Other than that, they're both awesome!

Yeah it's definitely there...i've listened to that part a few times now. It's awesome!

Hope you weren't around me, I was freaking out all night. :D
  • It's damn good to hear that "Live from St. John's, it's Saturday Night" is there. I was worried there for a second.

Man, what a weekend it was. I'm still depressed that it's all over actually. I can't wait to get those bootlegs to bring me back. It's still so sureal.

  • 45 songs.
Those of us who were fortunate to get tickets to both shows got to see the best band in the world sing 45 different songs.

I just want to send a big thanks to the band and everyone involved in the tour for coming to visit us here in Newfoundland.

Two Feet has the write up for the 25th’s show up now…or if you can consider it a write up. I’m thinking about writing them myself so that the show can have some justice done to it.

One cool thing pertaining to Sunday’s show here in St. John’s, my buddy who just got home from Texas (he was flown out because the hurricane was coming) got home just in time for the show. He called me up wondering if I had a ticket left…luckily for him and for me that I did. (Believe it or not I was having trouble getting rid of that last ticket…nuts isn’t it?)
He asked me about bringing in a digital cam to the show…we said that it shouldn’t be a problem as there were loads of them there at the first show.
Through the jigs and the reels he told me that he bought a new 1Gig memory card for it…and that’s when the fireworks went of in my lil noodle.
Asked him if it took video…sure did…asked if it captured audio too…sure did!
    SWEET!!
We got Small Town, Evenflow, most of Alive and the better part of Jeremy on video!

    It freakin’ rocks!!!!

I can only hope that the do a dvd for this tour!

Thanks again guys for one of THE best weekends of my live…you have TOTALLY spoiled me now for seeing any other concerts…because no matter what other bands I see…they will NOT be able to live up to the shows that you put on here in St. John’s!

Ah man...that big bouncer dude he was on our ass all weekend.
We went down by the backstage enterance to listen to the sound check for the first show and maybe sneak a peek in and score an autograph...when he come out and told us to get back up by the road behind the barrier. We tried to plead our case and asked him to cut us a break...he said "I am giving you a break...I'm asking you with a smile."

    Round 1: Bouncer 1 - Us 0

So we get to the show sat night 16th row, me and my buddy were gonig nuts. So we hop up on our seats to have a better look at the band and all things...and who should come and tell us to get down...you got it...the bouncer dude.

    Round 2: Bouncer 2 - Us 0

So the next day we went to the Delta to see if we could see and/or meet the elusive Pearl Jam. And who should we meet...but this one is the funniest. He told us that if we wanted to get an autograph or whatever the best place to do it was at the venue. ??? What? We tried that...and HE himself told us to get the hell out of there.

    Round 3: Bouncer 3 - Us 0

So after carring Vs. and a Sharpie in my pocket all weekend...trying our hardest...we got nothing.

But I hope my lil story made you laugh.

  • I'm finally gettin' a chance to listen to this show for the first time since seein' it and it sounds fantastic man. I'm instantly taken back to the night and relivin' the whole thing in my mind and havin' a supper time doin' so.

I really think the guys loved it here. I know they do similar antics and say the same kinda stuff everwhere but I truly felt they had a super time while visiting this province. I feel that it inspired them... as we are a truly unique place in this huge world of ours... not to say that everywhere isn't.

They spoke so much about Newfoundland and it's beauty on night one and Eddie even encorperated a little something at the end of Wishlish on night 2; "Keep me warm, keep me warm. I'll think of St. John's to keep me warm". Man, that was truly a special moment for everyone.

The highlight of the night for me was when Ed got out the mirror (Half Full) and started reflecting the light on the crowd, all around the stadium. Just to the left of the stage he found a Newfoundland flag and held the light there for a few moments as the crowd went completly nutty. Then, he moved from there to the Canadian Flag hangin' from the rafters, where the crowd went even more insane. He ended the song back on the Newfoundland flag. Awesome, Awesome stuff.

Again... thank you so much Pearl Jam for comin' here and rockin' our socks off.

  • Nobody knows for sure but Mile One replied back to a few emails about the situation sayin' that they have never or would ever kick an act our. They even sent along the scheduled given to them by PJ's people statin' that they wanted to be out of there by 10:00.

From what I've heard, they had a flight that night to fly out of the city that they couldn't miss. Must of has something planned elsewhere; perhaps Ed had a meeting with his friend that got married during the tour? Who knows...

i heard/read that they needed to pack up the equipment and get it to the ferry in time to make the next gig...they couldn't keep the ferry waiting and couldn't afford to miss it.

That's the truth, there. Straight from Jill Vedder. She came out before the show right next to where I was to talk someone I knew (the infamous Kelly) and that was part of the conversation.

A visitor to the province has fallen victim to the waves at Cape Spear. An extensive search was initiated last evening after the 24 year old man was apparently swept off the rocks. The young man was with three friends taking pictures of the swells when a wave dashed over the rocks and dragged him into the water. His companions called for help just after 7:30pm. The Coast Guard, Rovers, Police and Fire Department, responded. Heavy seas did not help the search effort.

I was also wondering if it may have been visiting Pearl Jam fans.

    A few points...
no one sells penguins in st. john's, they're called puffins and they fly and look nothing alike. If you had bothered to look outside of the most touristy spots you may have seen other things more worthy of your greatness.
It's nice to know that we can come close to approaching the mediocrity of NYC, thanks for the compliment...

The only people that say "aye" anywhere in Canada I would suspect are either wannabe pirates, Irish ex-pats or working on a ship. Lots of people in the rest of Canada say 'eh' but not many do here.

Your condescending, full of worldly knowledge, attitude is refreshing and such a nice change from the general tone of these boards which tends to be conciliatory, friendly and open. Any time you feel like gracing us with your presence please come again, i'm sure we could all learn a lesson or two from your street wise, cosmopolitan attitudes...

Sounds like rollingstone423 really struck a nerve with you? Stop being so fucking proud. Chill out.

    You said

Lots of people in the rest of Canada say 'eh' but not many do here.

Is this another attempt to distinguish yourself differnet from the rest of Canada? Do you really need to try so hard? That new flag (well old one) that you are tryng to bring back is fucking ugly. It looks like Italy's flag and whats worst it has pink on it. Would this be the only flag in the world with Pink on it?

He did'nt like the restuarant and mistook a puffin for a penquin. Big fucking deal. You act like he spit in your mothers face or something.

I felt you needed a rebuttal as well. So easy to piss of you proud Newfoundlanders its sickening. What buddy said wasn't bad at all for someone who it was probably their first time there. Big fucking Deal he did'nt like Bianaca's. Maybe its just someones personal opinion or preference. I wasn't impressed either. Most of my family on the Rock are from around the Bay. So i consider you a townie, just like any townie in the world be it New York, Toronto, whatever. Im a townie as well. Stop trying to make claim that you are so different, because your not.

    You said

The next time someone is "tryng" to bring back a "differnet" flag perhaps they should run it by you first. Then they can make sure it is similar to the flag of a country that you like.

Go to hell and get the F out of Canada if you don't like it Now that you have found your province has some rescources you want to be a greedy pig and are like Canada who? If your a proud Newfie then im a proud Canadian. Whats not to be proud of in the rest of Canada since your from a place that you can be proud of? Its sad but true, but your becoming worst then the seperatist in Quebec you bastard. Im sure you will be cheering for Team Canada in the Olympics though. Oh poor Newfoundland, so hard done. BOO HOO. And when did some drunk idiot decided to make the Flag issue a topic for disscussion. I mean i was there last year and not a mention of it. This year its on everybodies minds. Real important stuff.

Was because they love our Country and our Politics. Apparently you don't. So get the fuck out and stop your bitching. Maybe they would think that your bashing of Canada is bullshit and would consider you the asshole; you asshole. You should have sent a memo to the band that you don't like Canadian politics. Maybe they would not have come there then. More so, why not try and do something about it instead of drowning in your own cynisim. And what you say may well be true so does'nt that make you an idiot for stayin and just complaining about it? What about survival of the fittest? Guess your not to fit, but you can spell. Good for you. Help you fill out those welfare and EI claims. Maybe my use of punctuation, capitalization and my amazing spelling skills is poor. Maybe thats because i don't have the time to edit my post on a forum with a fine comb. I guess that you do. Seems like all you have is time to whine and bitch about poor old Newfoundland. Fuck you were the last province to join Canada, so maybe its just taking some time for things to come your way. If you ask me i think things are looking up for the province more than ever now. Funny now that when things are looking up all this negativity rises towards Canada who stuck with you when things were shitty. Its the Feds fault the Cod is gone. What a crock of shit. It was greed and greed has no name. It was everyones fault at some level. And as for the poor fisherman... I have been around the Bay and alot of those fisherman are doing far better than I. Someone who has one of those coveted Federal Jobs in Ontario that you speak so highly of. So what the hell does that say? Your just a cry baby and what do you do with cry babies? Give them their bottles i.e. E.I and welfare since you cannot take care of yourself and are content to just bitch and cry. BTW im not born in Newfoundland, my mother is from there and i have strong ties to many family and friends there. Its Newfoundlanders like you that make me ill. Like a cancer to the country. Your not doing any good, no forward progress for you. Just bitch bitch bitch about the past and how you got screwed and go on about it forever. What about the poor native indians? Are you as hard done by as them? Don't you owe them as Canada apparently owes you?

I'll be back sooner than later, hopefully we can meet up in an alley. Last i checked Newfoundland was still a part of Canada. And you think its me calling you a a hater of Canada. Your statements would make it seem as though you do hate Canada. Im not saying my arguments are bullet proof although you would make it seem that yours are. Your just a little bit to proud of a Newfie and I'm alot proud of a Canadian. And Btw my sole aim is to disparage and denigrate you not Newfoundland, because their are many Newfoundlanders that don't see it your way and are more incline to do something positive than bitch and complain all the time and not let their pride get the better of them as i must admit my pride as a Canadian is getting the better of me because of an ingrate like you. You acted quite Juvenile when someone from NY did'nt like your restuarant and mistook a puffin for a penquin (I mean God forbid), like it was a direct insult at you and all Newfoundlanders when the guy still said he liked it there and enjoyed his trip. Canada don't need you and by saying that i don't mean Newfoundland i mean you in particular. Damm it man their are injustices all over the world (Like Pearl Jam playing short set on rock). You think you have problems? The things you complain of are trivial and your an insult to my country and undeserving of living here with your attitude. Easy with exporting the hardest workers as well. I know Newfoundlanders are hard workers, but you make it seem as though no other Canadians that work hard. Whats with this exporting as well? When did Newfoundland seperate from Canada and become its own country and start exporting workers? You yourself said their all on E.I and welfare. How much hard work is that? Stop tooting your own horn. Its not very becoming. Do you know how many Newfoundlanders come up here just to collect their stamps and then go home to collect E.I when they could stay on and keep working. Is that something to be proud of? O_G_D BE THY NAME, PISSING OFF OVERLY PROUD REDNECK NEWFIES BE THY GAME. THIS IS THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO O_G_D. AND DON'T CHANGE THE FLAG BECAUSE O_G_D your devine leader will not be pleased and the fish will never come back... JUST JOKING ABOUT THAT, BUT I MEAN EVERYTHING ELSE.
