Sitting in my kids' Sunday school graduation ceremony. It's so seriously boring and long. Local politicians speak, distinguished graduates speak, recognize the teachers and PTA. Then class by class (kg through 9th grade) awards and trophies are presented for various accomplishments. There are 600 kids in the school. Each kid is present with their family members. It's a crowd. It's in an outdoor event. Thank God it's a beautiful day. In the past it has been so hot and miserable. Still it lasts from about 10:00 to 1:00. Ugh.

Man, STHerself! I'm sorry! My niece graduated yesterday from ECOT. (And I take a moment to thank Susan for attending by text with me. Tree was there, too!) Billed as the "largest high school graduation in the nation" with over 1500 graduating yesterday at The Schott on the OSU campus, it only took 2 1/2 hours with the distinguished speakers, scholarships and awards. They split the alphabet and the floor. A-K were on one side of the floor, L-Z were on the other side. You were told which side of the arena to sit so you could see. They had a center stage, screens and alternated naming each kid off. Went much faster than all of us thought. It wasn't as overwhelming as we thought it would be and it was well done. There was almost a smackdown over saved seats and my brother defending the "saver" but after the f-you's and the "I'll kick your asses" was done, it was a pleasant time.

Waiting for my house guest to get his butt out of bed! Breakfast has been ready for a while and he has to leave in an hour to get to the airport. Should I go wake him up??

And shetellsherself, that scene sounds ridiculously over the top for an end of the year school event. Good thing you have your phone with you.

I don't know how well you know your house guest, but he needs to get his ass out of bed. Maybe try playing some music a touch on the loud side. Not obvious, just loud enough. "Oh, did I wake you?" :naughty:

I've been reading through my poems out loud for the poetry evening tomorrow. I'm a bit nervous, I have about 9-10 mins but they want 15, I hope it's ok if I finish a bit early. More time for the others to read their stuff.

So it was worse than we thought - he mistook his departure time! He ended up leaving here only 40 minutes before his flight was supposed to leave, and he needs to check bags!! He seemed totally unworried, while I was getting stressed until I realized this is totally not my problem. I imagine he'll be sitting out there for a while, waiting to be rebooked on a later flight.

And Redterror...... well, I'd better just not say what I'm thinking here :smirk:

Taking a break. I took the convertible out of storage last week as its only driven in the summer. Its an older car and the top doesn't fit tight so the dust/dirt that gets inside it is quite a job to clean up.

Watching some old Burt Reynolds movie on HBO Now called Semi Tough. It's that football movie he did that wasn't remade with Adam Sandler.

    Congrats to the new grad.

I just gutted a toilet and replaced everything but the porcelain itself in 30 minutes. Damn degenerate palooza. It has been running every 15/20 minutes since that weekend. Coincidence or the degenerates fault, I don't know. I replaced the valve and all the mechanisms in the tank earlier this week and it just kept running. I'm sure the seals on the bottom had nothing to do with it as the tank is what has been leaking into the bowl but since it is on the second floor I figured better safe then sorry. I don't need the ceiling crashing in.
