So what direction would you guys like to hear for the new pj album? Personally I wanna see 'em bring back the codas from no codes, and just jam a bit more then usual and mix up the song structures. I could see them going in quite a few different directions though.

more mike solos at the end of a song ala life wasted & severed hand from the last album.

more stone intro riffs ala alive & in hiding. :D
    scratching my butt...
    kinakamot ang aking puwit...
    me rascando pompis...
    krap mijn reet...
    boku no ketsuoana o kizu...
    bahrosh teezy...

Exactly what I was thinking, except no fucking fade outs in the middle of Mike's solos. It almost ruins the whole song.

turn up the volume and turn down the glossier production. Limit ed on guitar. Absolutely no uke! Turn up jeff and matt. More jeff in general. dirty stone riffs and crazy mike solos.

I really want it to have alot of jams in it, sort of jam band style. I doubt this would ever happen but who knows.

Turn down the glossier production? I don't know what albums you've been listening to but, they haven't had a glossy production style since like Vs. The last album was very loose, rugged and live.

I wouldn't call self titled glossy, but I still don't think it's a particularly well produced album. Can't put my finger on it though.

    i second that :D

i guess i want some songs with heavy use of phaser pedal, like no way. i miss groovy pearl jam songs.

and i would like an album with no weak songs this time please, in my opinion we didn't have one like that since yield. i much prefer 10 solid songs rather than 14 songs with strong and weak ones.

I reckon we're due for an experimental one!

i don't agree. i think the last record sounded waaay to polished and overproduced. i doesn't sound live at all. smile, habit and red mosquito off no code sound live, i feel like i am in that basement with the band playing it when listening to it.

I think it's Time to step up and do something EPIC

    Fuck this quirky bullshit

Silence the fuckers who think this band has lost it's songwriting.

Maybe some horns, piano...Something BIG ala...The Who's "Love Reign O'er Me" or "The Real Me" but something totally Pearl Jam

Take what they touched on with "Inside Job" only 100X BETTER...

Build up some tension in the songs and just fucking ripp it loose.

    Big Mike Solos
    Crunchy Stone Riffs
    Eddie Screaming his Brains out
    Jeff pounding the Bass
Matt going off on the Drums.
Boom or Brendon O' Brien doing some Keys

I want something HUGE this time.

    Make something LEGENDARY!!!!!

Want some more rockers mixed with alternative stuff. I love that PJ is an alternative band as alternative music is my favourite. Something along the lines of No Code would be gr8!

  • They can do whatever they want, just hope I'm gonna like it....
But I'd like something different... come on, the guy have grown up, we cannot pretend another No Code or anything like that....

    I want PJ 2009
Makes me ache, makes me shake...
...is it so wrong to think that love can keep us safe?

  • just hope I'm gonna like it....

Every album they have ever made has been a Gem, so unless they bring in Bon Jovi to help out with some tracks I'm sure this one will be no different.

Ok, if that happens I'll definetly stop listening to pearl jam. I want songs that are as clean and small as Sometimes and All those yesterdays. I want more songs like In Hiding and Faithful, more Off he goes. Possibly something reminding of Tremor Christ and Not for you as well. What I don't want is some overproduced shit with a shitload of claviatures and stringed instruments. Well I'll consider it if it's done tastefully. The intro of Inside Job is actually quite okay. I don't want any of the starightforwardness of Avocado. Sure I actually like Life Wasted but what I mean is that most of the songs just feel rushed and don't leave me thinking about their vocals or their musical construction. I want a No Code/Yieldish-style record topped with Jeffs songwriting! That might actually be possible if Brendan is given the right amount of influence! ^^

off the yop of my head, maybe something that represents these tunes...

love reign'oer me, go, blood, marker in the sand, noway, deadman, evenflow, all night, comatose, inside job, push me pull me, all or none.

    YES!
Sometimes "Majority" just means all of the Fools are in Agreement.
  • I want an all around step up from the last album more upbeat, aggressive style lyrics of what's going on in the world today.(There isn't alot to be happy about, so let the anger let loose Ed, fuck yeah!!!) Along with a few melodic songs that will make your hairs on your head stand tall. The album name that ties it altogether into one legendary timeless, classic piece and maybe surpassing it's creater "Ten".

i'd like more songs with subtle piano &/or organ :)

I can't imagine hearing Pearl Jam with a horn section, but who knows lol
