  • out of stock now
  • Do people actually think these things are worth more than $25 now?? People are mainly buying them now cause they think they have a $$$ value... Trust me when I say MOST people arent buying them because they love Backspacer... I feel for those who paid bigtime bucks for these when they were "rare". I was almost one of those people up until this past week.

I feel for you guy, but here's a thought... could these be a second pressing? Why on earth would they hold 5000 copies of a record in a warehouse for 2 years?

Yeah, that is strange. However the description says original pressing.

I don't see that. Has the description been revised? A release date is listed, but that could just mean the release date of the album overall.

totally passed on it. black vinyl will do just fine for me.

my least favorite PJ album, going to get the least amount of spins. just need it to help complete the collection.

i hope the value doesn't decrease TOO much for those who bought the original batch for some big time loot.

    Description says original pressing

I think 5000 is still a high estimate of the number pressed, but the point remains....Why would they just sit on these for so long?

My guess would be somewhere in the middle(maybe 3000 or so), unless quite a few people bought huge batches. Enough for plenty of people to get them, but not enough to totally kill the collectibility.

Even stranger, that part of the description appears to have gone. It was definitely there before....

  • If it is truly sold out/out of stock, they should remove it from the Goods section like they did with the backpack to save everyone from continuing to check with hopes that one becomes available. Maybe they aren't going to remove it until all orders are 100% processed? I guess its possible someone's order gets cancelled and one becomes available again?

that's why I decided to check this morning. I figured out of stock is not the same as sold out. I had a feeling they'd be fair about it this time around and stagger the sale of an item so everyone everywhere had a chance to see it. Got myself one by doing this.

My guess on the "500 to 5000" range is to try to negate the secondary market... 5000 is a decent amount, if people think the run is on the high side, they're less likely to flip... I dunno... just guessing as to why an exact number hasn't been listed.

I didn't. I bought it cause I dig white vinyl. I'm going to tear it open the minute it arrives.

99% of you folks will buy this hoping to one day sell it for a profit...

    You know it....
    I know it...
    We all know it.....

    Just like the posters...
    Just like the backpack.....

And a pleasure to see you my friend.....

i think speedy is probably right.

I mean i think a high proportion were bought to trade or sell (based on Benny logic)...

its just the way it is.

As a collector im obsessive about these things, but i would agree the majority look at it very differently.

I only picked up 2 of these yesterday. One is for me to play (since I never bought Backspacer for some reason) and the other is either to trade or sell for face value to someone who missed out. I just can't bring myself to flip stuff...just don't think it's cool to do to other fans even if it means making money.

Oh yeah, it's definitely trying to put a damper on the flippers' fun. 5000 would absolutely destroy the secondary market, imo.

If these are original pressing they have been sitting for two years as well... they've been here and there since the release, so while I know its a joke to get the one nearest to the heating vent... both versions were likely pressed about the same time.

Out of curiosity just searched the 'bay for completed listings. 2 were sold today for £450 each from a UK seller :o  :o - the buyers will be disappointed if the seller just bought them from 10c.

By the time they take 2+ months to get to the UK from 10c then the seller to send them on I think a PayPal investigation will have been launched :lol:
