I would love to make a trip to the cities again. Being in Eau Claire makes it a really easy drive. But first ave.... That has to be too small... I'll judge it after Foster The People in December. :D

I saw Beck and MGMT there, but the sound stunk!

Oh never! The Roy wouldn't be good at all... Oh the sound.... I was in a different state of mind when I saw A Perfect Circle there though... :D

I know that's unlikely, so I'd settle for here:

    or here:

I love the Triple Rock. It is WAY too small though.. again... Saw Communist Daughter there.. That was a treat! :D

    I'll see you there!
  • Got to be at the X. By far the best acoustics in town for a larger venue. Or possibly an outdoor concert at a natural amphitheater. Like something similar to the We Fest grounds in Detroit Lakes but smaller if need be.

I agree it has to be at the X...but I've started throwing out venues, because, well, its fun!

Xcel for sure...great sound, good capacity, and downtown St. Paul is actually pretty cool when you know the spots to hit.

Totally agree. Saw the White Stripes there in 2005. One of the best shows I've seen. Beautiful small venue. State Theatre isn't bad either - saw Wolfmother there 2nd row.

Personally, I always thought the U's facilities were underutilized in terms of music events. As a Gopher hockey season ticket holder, I would love to see a PJ show at Mariucci...

    Play MN PJ!

If it happens, it HAS to be the X...20,000+ possibilities

All the other venues are too tiny or suck....I'm all for intimacy, and for EV it was great, but not the entire band

Target Center sucks...they prob wouldn't go outdoor and do TCF (although Target Field would be AWESOME)

And since they really only did a half set with Petty back in 06, it's been since 03 since they've come here...all the more reason!

    BRING IT
    Chicago - 6/29/98

June or Fall! June its not too hot yet and mosquitoes won't kill you. Fall the colors are awesome and there's tons of outdoor stuff to do. You could come in winter, but if you come during the wrong week, you might be staying longer than planned!

What's the best time of year for a tourist to visit Minnesota?

June or Fall! June its not too hot yet and mosquitoes won't kill you. Fall the colors are awesome and there's tons of outdoor stuff to do. You could come in winter, but if you come during the wrong week, you might be staying longer than planned!

Hmmm...the fall is the absolute best time here in New England, too.

Pearl Jam, please play Minnesota in June! I'm gonna start looking at flights. ;)

Haha...definitely. I've been trying to get out to the East Coast for a long time too. It just never seems to work out. I've got family in upstate NY and definitely want to get out there.

It gets mighty cold too. MIGHTY cold. Last winter was absolutely brutal.

Absolutely...although I think historically, last winter was far snowier than it was cold. It was definitely cold, but the snow was ridiculous. I think it was like the 3rd or 5th snowiest winter on record.

Saturday bump! Interesting story...my wife and I live in an apartment complex in St. Paul, which means that packages get delivered to the manager's office. Yesterday, I finally got my 2010 Holiday single (which is fucking awesome by the way), and I had to go down to the manager's office to pick it up. When I go down there, the manager holds up two holiday single packages from 10c, and says "oh, it looks like someone else in your building got the same thing. I laugh, ask who it is, and figure out this guy lives just below me. I explain to the manager how weird/cool that is, simply because 10c members and PJ fans in general are nuts and fanatical and finding another one is like bumping into a member of a secret society: we'll talk in codes and discuss matters incomprehensible to the outside world upon meeting ("greetings member #343xxx! What do you think of Santos' decision regarding the white Backspacer?" "Aye, those bastard flippers deserve it!" <----really think about how that conversation sounds to someone who's not a diehard PJ fan :lol::lol: ).

I knew there were other PJ fans/10c members in the Twin Cities (and know several of them from shows etc, but I didn't know there was one in my building. Now I'll have to figure out who he is by keeping a watch for the tell-tale signs: different PJ shirt on every day, overpriced vinyl records being brought home, random live album blaring from his car...man that sounds familiar..:lol::lol:

Anyway...Jim, if you're out there, come find me in apartment #307!

    Play Pearl Jam Minnesota!

I haven't seen Pearl Jam in Minnesota since 1998, thirteen years and thirty-one shows ago. That sucks. I'm in for 20-12...at the DECC in Duluth!!!
