Al Franken would support a few gigs here. :-)

My mom saw Al Franken at a restaurant in St. Louis Park two weeks ago. She said people came up to him while he was eating to shake his hand and people were taking pictures on their cell phone of him. How annoying would that have been?

Was just in Minneapolis this past weekend. Every time I go up there, I like that city more. I would definitely make the trip if PJ played there.

Cool! Where did you go? What did you do?

Ed, you're always welcome to sing the national anthem or take me out to the ballgame at Target Field!

We were visiting some friends that live up there now....they live right near the Metrodome in the Sexton building I think it is called. Went to Kieran's and O' Donovans on Friday night. Went to the mall of america on Saturday and then to Brit's and The Local on Saturday night. All cool places. I really like the downtown area...nice and clean and you can walk pretty much everywhere.

How about a MN gig at the X right around the Labor Day weekend Alpine shows ;) Would love to make a trip back home. This would seal the deal! I miss the Twin Cities and going to games and concerts.

Check out the Gold Medal Flour tour (all about the flour mills and the big explosion there in the 1800's) and stone arch bridge area down by the Mississippi River. Also, Minnihaha Falls (a little ways outside of Minneapolis) is gorgeous.

What are the chances that there's a US tour this fall? What does everyone think?

I'm 50/50. I definitely think US tour is in the works and coming at some point, but the guys are pretty freaking busy so far.

I'll go with a fall tour starting in October, with maybe two isolated dates at Alpine over Labor Day. Hopefully said tour includes a MN date...

Well, it's an election year. I'm sure the boys want to get their feelings known and they love to do that via a tour. So, I would expect a tour sometime in the Sept/Oct timeframe.

Hopefuly a decent-sized US tour this year. Considering the fact that it's an election year (although I could give a shit about PJ's political views) and they only played 2 dates in the US last year, there has to be some US dates this year!
  • vant0037vant0037 Posts: 6,138
I agree with both. The election year thing always seems to result in some touring. I just hope its not the standard east coast / west coast stuff. A few other areas would love shows too.

I think they'll be rejuvenated once they get 6 or 7 weeks off. Hopefully that means a tour announcement in August with shows starting in September or October.

I'd love for the guys to tour the U.S. in the fall, but I wouldn't be surprised if they took a break and hit us up next spring. I mean, they seem pretty damn busy at the moment, with few breaks in between.

While we wait for PJ to come to MN we might as well enjoy the bands coming through here.

Pretty good show at the entry tonight. Plants and Animals with Zoo Animal opening.

Rumors are that Dave Matthews and Tool will be playing the harriet island music festival. Talk about an oil and water line up. :-/ Throw in PJ for a two night stand and the promoters would make a killing.

Such a stupid story in the Star Tribune. The headline reads like its confirmed acts, but then you read it and its only "rumors."

Anyway... neither band is enough to draw me in (in fact, DMB is enough to keep me the hell away  ), but I shouldn't complain too much. Lake Harriet Festival is scheduled for June 23 - 24 and I'll be in Amsterdam then about 2 days from seeing PJ twice. ;)

Anyway... neither band is enough to draw me in (in fact, DMB is enough to keep me the hell away  ), but I shouldn't complain too much. Lake Harriet Festival is scheduled for June 23 - 24 and I'll be in Amsterdam then about 2 days from seeing PJ twice. ;)[/quote]

Just got back from there - loved Amsterdam, great town! Would definately be a fun place to see a show.

Not as great as Minnesota, of course! So Pearl Jam should definatley include them this year!
