My first concert was New Found Glory and NOFX in Fall of 2001 at age seventeen. I got invited to it by my friends who had an extra (didn't even have to pay). It was at the Quest. Remember that place?
Aside from that, the first show I paid for and went under my own choosing was Weezer in 2002 after Maladroit was released. How the once mighty have fallen.I've got a fever, and the only prescription is more cowbell.

Q101 Twisted Christmas in Chicago:
Fiona Apple
Bloodhound Gang
Sheryl Crow
Gravity Kills
KoRn
Stabbing Westward
The Violent Femmes
The Wallflowers
Weezer
My buddy had a crush on some girl. I ended up making out with her in the back of the van on the 1.5 hour drive home while her mom chauffeured. (Not a euphemism) He ended up with the fatty, I ended up with chapped lips. Good night!0 -

Dusick, didn't you go to both of those shows?!0 -
My first show(s) were at a small club above a parking garage in Freeport, Illinois, where I lived from the ages of 9-14. It was called Club Phenonmenom. The shows I went to were all ages northern Illinois heavy metal scene shows. Probably thought it was the coolest thing ever.
My first real big time concert was Stone Temple Pilots at the Xcel in 2001. I think it was under the Family Values Tour, I think.
Static X. Linkin Park. Disturbed. All opened.
It was pretty awesome.
Static X was what they are. Heavy and loud.
Linkin Park was just off their first single and relatively new. They put on a good show. Again, for what they were
Disturbed, sigh. I disliked and didn't care about. The only memorable thing was when a guy puked on me when I snuck onto the floor during their set. I ran straight into the sea of people and a guy was stumbling out and then let it go down my pants. Yuck.
After I washed my pants in the Xcel Energy Center, I snuck back onto the floor. Yes, May be one of a few who has taken their pants off at the X and hand washed them in the sink. Bump.
STP killed it that night.
There's more to that story, but I'll reserve that for when someone really wants to know the tale of my first show over a few beers.0 -
I've never drank alcohol at a concert and I'm 30.
I do drink once in a while but I want to avoid piss breaks at shows.I've got a fever, and the only prescription is more cowbell.

I can't recall a concert I didn't drink at. Or ingested something else.0 -

I wonder if any band will play a gig in the dome before it is taken down. Probably not. What was the last concert held there?I've got a fever, and the only prescription is more cowbell.

I doubt it. Considering they are planning on tearing it down the day after the last Viking game.0 -

I grew up with my a few brothers, two of them really into music. My quite older brother is a guitar man and was always in a band doing the Minneapolis music scene. He's played everywhere and I especially remember feeling jealous that he couldn't sneak me into First Ave when he played because I was too young. So, I was chomping at the bit to go to live music as soon as I was old enough (so, 13 or 14 probably)
My closer to age older brother and I, grew up in the christian alt rock music scene so we went to the New Union a ton (a small venue in Minneapolis that is no longer around..). Saw a ton of fun bands play, 5 Iron Frenzy, Ghoti Hook, Supertones..
Though I was always the one finding new bands, I was the only one interested and didn't have the mindset of venturing out to see them on my own (although, without having the good internet sites we do now, I really didn't know who was coming to town and all of that). So, my first big concert after graduating high school was more of a joke and my girlfriends and I wanted to have a last hurrah, so we went to the N'Sync concert at the 'Dome. Then I went to college and my Dad got me a security gig at the Xcel.. that's when things started getting fun. I didn't see the concerts because I was at the front desk but I heard quite a few... not that it counts (eminem, snoop, poverati, no doubt). By working there, though, I did manage a few tickets to some shows- one of them being Weezer 2002 with Dashboard Confessionals as the opener at Roy Wilkins.
The best was when my brother had tickets to the 2003 Beck concert at Roy Wilkins (again, with Dashboard opening!) and my Dad snuck me in with me pretending to be working security that night. Once I got in, I gave Dad back the radio and we split. My brother did what he did best and we shot from the back all the way up to center stage. It was the best! Beck had an amazing set list that night and a great show in and of itself! From then on, my concert experiences have only gotten better.. love it!
Following Joe's lead.. and for the record.. Beck's June 12, 2003 setlist:
