So is this thread the best place to keep an eye out for where/when gatherings/the fundraiser will be? I'm a noob who wants to meet other local PJers :D

p.s. I am also an introvert and occasionally need a kick in the pants to get out, so I know not knowing when something is will just be a clever excuse my lizard brain uses to stay home and watch another Vikings episode...

Yes you can check here, or the Wishlist Facebook page here: https://www.facebook.com/events/1499667233585387/?notif_t=plan_user_invited

It's totally okay if you're an introvert :) I'd highly suggest coming out to the pre-party. Lots of good energy, positive people, prizes, and fun! The preparty is great for meeting fellow fanatics, swapping stories, and getting psyched for the show. I highly recommend it, you should totally go - no excuses!

So far the only details are that this will likely take place at Patrick McGovern's in St. Paul on Sunday, and we'll have an "unofficial" gathering Saturday night in the Twin Cities, if you can handle two nights of craziness.

Welcome! Definitely will keep you on the radar when it comes time to making sure you don't give any excuses because none will be acceptable! (but I totally get using Vikings as an excuse for any other occasion.. that show is amazing)

Thanks kdiddy and adusick! Definitely feel welcomed, and definitely will stay tuned.

And I can probably handle 2 nights of craziness, but I don't know if my husband can. He's more of a casual fan that lovingly tolerates my crazy :) He does like having a few beers and socializing though, so I could probably sell him on that aspect!

    Here's how you'll get both:

Ed: "So we, ah, we ah been traveling around on this tour, hitting the ah, interstates and the ah, the midwest turnpikes, and so ah, this next one's about what some of you might have done to get here."

    -"Hitchhiker" starts-

Twenty seconds in...Ed stops the band...points to the crowd...

Ed: "Hey wait, you, down there, ah, to the right, are you dressed like a bee?"

-someone dressed like a bee yells something, lost in the crowd noise

    Ed laughs, shakes his head

Ed: "Well, we might play that one, but that's the scariest shit I've seen in a long time..."

Ryan's legend as "Bee Guy" is established.

Maybe we should all throw cigarettes up on stage for Ed.

08/28/92 - Harriet Island: St. Paul, MN (Lollapalooza) [45m]
set: Why Go, Deep, Jeremy, Breath, Even Flow, Alive, Porch/(Tearing), Rockin' in the Free World
notes: Ed begins, "Ladies and gentlemen, my new escort and friend, Al Jourgenson. Why go home? Cause we're in fuckin' Minneapolis - get us outta here." During the 'Deep' break, Ed tries to calm the crowd: "Pick him up, help him over, get him up. Everybody, right down here. Just make sure that everybody gets up. I'm countin heads, I'm countin heads. Slow down, is everybody up? There's still one more. Come on, right behind you. White flags surrender! Everybody get up. All right. On the edge ..." and finishes the song. During 'Jeremy,' Chris Cornell sings backup on the "spoke in" part. "Say thanks to Chris Cornell for singing along. Thank you for singin along, too. (Stone noodles 'Breath'). I'm making all these movements like a puppet just 'cause I think it's probably the only way that anybody back there can even see if there's anyubody on stage. Hel-LO! Just want you to know that we can see you. This song, I don't know if you've heard it, it's called 'Breath'." After 'Even Flow,' Stone plays some 'Hard to Imagine' riffs while Ed talks over it. "I remember the last time we were here in Minneapolis, and we played a place called First Avenue, you know where it is. (crowd cheers) That's about right, everybody in the front that's who would've been there. Just all you guys right in the front. But, I remember it was about midnight, maybe ten after. And all we wanted was a pack of cigarettes and we were back at the hotel. And we called the front desk, we said "Can you tell us where there's a cigarette machine? You know, is there a cigarette machine?". And he said "Why, yes sir, there is a cigarette machine but we lock it up after midnight." (crowd laughs). You couldn't even smoke cigarettes?!?! Like, I'm gonna smoke three cigarettes and go out and kill somebody?!?! (Crowd laughs) So I don't know what the fuck is wrong with Minneapolis. And I started wondering about you guys. Are you guys OK? (Crowd screams) Are they letting you ... live? Cause if there not, kill em, fuck em, or get the fuck out, I don't know." At the end of 'Alive,' Mike and Stone smash their guitars with Ed watching and shaking his head, smiling. 'Porch' includes a bit of 'Tearing': "It's hard to be real ... With the ones who ain't real... They continually blow my mind." Then Ed tells the crowd that if anyone wants to run away from Minnesota, they can ride on their bus and that he thinks "a lot of you need to be rescued. How about everybody on Ministry's bus?" 'Porch' ends and the bass drum continues into 'RITFW.' "Thanks very much for coming. Have an amazing day. Take care of one another. Thanks all!" Later in the evening, Mike joins Ministry for 'So What' from The Mind is a Terrible Thing to Taste. Ed and Flea (RHCP) also joined Ministry. A portion of the proceeds from this show benefitted the Homeless Coalition.

i'm actually kind of betting on this exact exchange to happen at at least one of the shows. it makes the most sense.

as for the bee girl stuff, if it just ends up beeing me rocking out in the crowd in a bee get up with no acknowledgement or anything, then so bee it. i think it'll bee fun.
