Lightning Bolt Power Ranking (week 12)
    1. Mind Your Manners
    2. Lightning Bolt
    3. My Father's Son
    4. Yellow Moon
    5. Pendulum
    6. Getaway
    7. Swallowed Whole
    8. Future Days
    9. Let The Records Play
    10. Infallible
    11. Sirens
    12. Sleeping By Myself

It's becoming clear that the strength of this album is it's surprising depth. For me, 1-7 could change dramatically over a few weeks. Aside from the few mainstays (1-3), the next 4-5 songs fluctuate quite a bit.

    Great, great album.

i didn't think pearl jam could make a song i hate, let alone two on the same record. there are a lot of their songs i can say i don't like, mind you, but none of their songs have ever elicited such negative feelings from me than sirens and future days. and they're both on an otherwise solid record.

Just a concert of those two songs over and over again. Throw in some remixes with DJ Boom.

    i probably still wouldn't leave.

san diego this year was kind of awesome because a bunch of people left during ledbetter. then they played ritfw. it was like that miami heat playoff game where the crowd left and then ran back in.

I still like Sirens! Right now it has even creeped back into my top songs.
I too am pleasantly surprised by the staying power of this album for me. Still like it just as much (maybe even more) than when it first can out.

We don't care what you play, just as long as you play it in Minnesota, Peal Jam!

I think it would be cool if someone designed a hat in the 'TC' Twins logo with 'EV' or 'PJ' as the letters.

Perhaps we should send a box of St. Paul's Pearson's Nut Rolls to the boys in Seattle.

No one can ignore Minnesota after having some of them. :-D

PJ, please come to MN. We'll buy you some of our delicious local candy. :-D

Some of you know that for me, the epitome of what makes a PJ show great is always the song "Alive." Sure sure, I know it's trendy to hate it because it's a hit, but the last half of the song truly encapsulates the PJ live experience. Guitars. Everyone singing along. House lights. It's amazing.

    So...

What song "makes" the live experience for you? I'm not looking for rarities that you'd like to see or songs you haven't seen yet or only experienced on bootleg.

What song do you walk away from thinking "THAT is what makes Pearl Jam great?"

    PORCH

    porchporchporchporchporchporchporchporchporchporchporchporchporchporch

All I ever need to hear live is a set-closing, ground-shaking, extended jam of Porch. Then I can leave happy, the rest of the set is entirely up to them.

    Oh, and "Smile"...
