This has been rumored for a while. Pretty cool, especially because it looks like these tickets are included for season ticket holders. http://www.startribune.com/sports/blogs/221832781.html

I think Ed should visit Target Field to see a Twins game before the season is over. IT IS A VERY BEAUTIFUL STADIUM THAT SERVES MANY PURPOSES... :D

Light years difference. Pound for pound, I think it's widely agreed that NFL has more of a problem with these types of incidents and this culture issue than any other sport.

Again, it's perfectly fine to like the NFL and the game. I do. That's not my point at all. But I think to say that college football has the same problems or is in the same discussion as the NFL is inaccurate. Even the league concedes it has a culture problem.

I dig football but don't throw my life into it like some people. I don't have a team. A game is a lot more satisfying to me when I'm not invested with ever fiber of my being.

I think san fran will go all the way this year.

so, my buddy in san diego is now actively looking for la tix. we'll see... :fp:

    My team.....

    SEA - M. Lynch
    CHI - B. Marshall
    DET - R. Bush
    OAK - D. McFadden
    DEN - W. Welker
    IND - A. Luck
    CIN - G. Bernard
    NE - S. Vereen
    PIT - A. Brown
    NYG - R. Randell
    NYJ - B. Powell
    ARI - M. Floyd
    CAR - J. Steward (ouch)
    CLE - J. Cameron
    DEN - M. Prater
    Arizona D

nobody wanted to touch mcfadden in our league. he went way later than he probably should have. i always liked jonathan stewart, too bad- but not at all surprising- about him.

my keeper leage draft went like this:

    Keepers:
    QB- Tom Brady
    RB- Marshawn Lynch
RB- LaMichael James (Rookie keeper, will probably get dropped once the season starts, only kept him since I was forfeiting a last round pick and I figured I'd see how his preseason went. I ended up with Frank Gore, though, so maybe I hold on to him yet)

    Draft:
I did not have a 1st round pick- traded it to a desperate owner for a 1st and 4th next year. From other trades last year, this draft I had additional 2nd, 5th, and 6th round picks, and no 10, 11, or 14 (rookie forfeit).

    2a. WR- Victor Cruz
    2b. RB- Frank Gore
    3. WR- Dwayne Bowe
    4. WR- Reggie Wayne
    5a. TE- Tony Gonzalez
    5b. Def- 49ers
    6a. QB- Colin Kaepernick
    6b. RB- Daryl Richardson
    7. WR- Stevie Johnson
    8. TE- Kyle Rudolph
    9. RB- Christine Michael
    12. WR- Percy Harvin
    13. PK- Greg Zuerlein

So, quite a few of the same players I got in my re-draft league. Not a fan of having that many "crossovers", but that's the way things shook out. Harvin will immediately be placed on IR and I'll pick up another WR but thought him worth a gamble in the 12th round.
  • AndySlash wrote:

    My second draft...

Luck, Lynch, Steven Jackson, Marshall, Bowe, McFadden, Pettigrew, Prater, Rams, Geovanni Bernard, Vereen, Hunter, Palmer, Michael Floyd, Rueben Randle.

I, too, have many crossovers because I believe in the players and also am a little lazy..... :?

I like McFadden's upside but also really LOVE Geovanni Bernard's potential to replace McFadden in my flex spot. 8-)

Post-State Fair hang over BUMP (and I didn't even drink any beer, unfortunately!)

After yesterdays cold 7am start (who could've said that a week ago..) the day was great! I had sausage corndogs with maple syrup to dip for breakfast, deep fried bread pudding- which was pretty tasty, and a gyro from Dimitris. I got suckerd into seeing the Freak Show in the Midway.. I highly discourage this waste of money for anyone curious. 1) it was pretty boring since it restarts every 30 minutes, so each performer sounds like they want to punch themselves, and 2) most of the "freak" stuff, such as the Icelandic giant, was a manmade thing that was put on display, OR it was so hokey that it wasn't freaky at all.. such as the 4 legged lady who was a loud mouthed girl who sat on a chage with two extra legs and did a dumb dance by kicking up her feet. 3) the only "freak" they had was a guy with no legs (for real) who was either born that way or was a war vet.. not sure which, and he just balanced himself on two side by side bowling balls.

ANYwho, anyone else have some good fair stories to bump along??
  • Went to The Fair on Friday. I would say it was pretty good - not overly hot (although I was wearing jeans because it was only 75 when I checked the weather - I got kind of warm once the sun came out!). Here's the list of eating

Poutine - awesome, highly recommended. Fries, gravy and cheese curds - how can you go wrong!
    Cheese curds
    Fried Pickles
    Fried Olives
Craft Beer flight - "Belgian" style. I already forgot most of them - I liked the one that was 9.5% alcohol, of course!
Turkey Sandwich - opted for the bacon and sweet glaze - not worth the the extra $2
    Apple Cider Freeze
    Leinie's Summer Shandy x2
    Sweet Martha's Cookies

I think that was all - now these were mostly shared with a friend of mine so don't think I ate ALL that by myself!

Saw some baby animals, listened to some music. All in all, a good time.

Sounds like an great food/drink lineup! I'm super bummed to have not gotten my fried pickles with cream cheese this year, but I surely didn't need it. I like your beer style.. haha, I ususally like the highe % too .. Always the best bang for your buck!
