  • Did Ed wish his daughter a happy birthday too?

Yes he did. Must be missing her something awful!
Another solid, rocking show! Watching Ed carry Mark Arm around and Mark trying to lift Mike up on his shoulders was hilarious! The Edmonton crowd was great (except for the grumpy texter beside me who seemed to be fighting with his daughter) Looking forward to Vancouver!

God damn, I guess that means no Wash or Marker in the Sand in Vancouver, two songs I really wanted to hear live. I wonder if they will be able to top off this incredible set list in Vancouver.

Just less than 48 hours until I get to see the greatest band in the world live!!!! Wooooo!!!! :D

Fourth row center for the fourth show in a row!

Unreal tonight, the crowd was the best of the bunch ;)

For me hands down the best moment of the show was Wasted Reprise. You could see the emotion building as Ed talked about what the guys meant to him and that he probably wouldn't have made it without them. He started to tear up, wiped them away with his sleeve and then took a really deep breath before starting. Afterwards, when he mentioned how much he was missing his daughter it all came together.

That was show #15 for me and by far, that moment, was something so special that I will never forget.

Thank you Pearl Jam for making our "Honeymoon Reunion Tour" one to remember and we'll see you again soon!

  • freaking awesome show, totally topped Calgary's show. I'd say with looking at all the setlists, this one was by far the best. Unfortunately I'm not making it to Vancouver so I'm glad I got to end the tour on a great show like this tonite. Please come to Vegas next year.

    Just wow
  • This blew Calgary away and bumped up as my second best show behind MSG1 2008. The crowd was great and the setlist amazing.

    09. Marker In The Sand
    10. Down
    11. U
    12. Present Tense (for Nathan)
    13. Black
    14. 1/2 Full

These 6 songs were the highlight for me and it doesn't get much better than that!!
  • Hands down highlight for me was Present Tense.

5th show for me, and have to disagree with everyone about the setlist, but still an incredible show. Thought Calgary 2 nights ago was a better show, but this one had some real special moments.
  • Well, congrats to Edmonton because a louder, more passionate crowd outside of PJ20 I have never witnessed. Everyone was there to bring it, heart and soul, and boy did they! Good set list. Although somewhat predictable, I am not complaining. They were all on fire and my first time being on the floor on McCready's side was beyond unbelievable. Watching his facial expressions and his interaction with the fans was priceless.Ed was on fire and very emotional at one particular point, which was something I've never seen and made me love and respect him and THEM all the more.

Thank you 10c for row 10 lottery....fucking Amazing!!! So blessed tonight and so grateful...

More later, but I am exhausted and need sleep.

Peace out, Edmonton. Can't wait see see what happens in Vancouver.

This was an amazing show! The crowd was spectacular and the band outdid themselves as usual!

On a personal note, coming from California, I wasn't sure what to expect from my first shows in Canada but Calgary and Edmonton blew me away, awesome 10c seats (5th row both nights) and the setlists were remarkable.
Met so many friendly fans at the preparty and shows who were all so nice to this American, thank you all for making me feel welcome...yellowledbettermanofthehour, pjsongref, vinylmiss and quarterto10, Shane, Adam, Yvette, breath_girl, and so many more!!!!! THANK YOU!

  • This show was unreal. I thought the Calgary show was amazing, but this show had a different feel. The crowd was LOUD and Ed seemed to be really overwhelmed with it all. It's my 14th time seeing them, and I'm missing them in Van this time around also. What a great way to end this set of shows!

Oh, and I met Ed at the hotel after the show also!!! He was totally exhausted and looked like he absolutely put everything he had into that show. He took the time to shake my hand and have a quick chat with a huge smile on his face. I love this band.

Vancouver is going to be amazing! Cheers to everyone who is heading out there!

Met so many friendly fans ...

    Wait, this was my line!

Honestly, the best part of this trip so far has been the folks from Canada. They have been nothing short of amazing. Hell, the couple we met the night before the Edmonton show are giving me and a friend a ride to the airport tomorrow ... for no other reason than, they want to. AND they booked a flight in Vancouver WHILE WE WERE AT THE PREPARTY and are coming out to hang with us. This after meeting cool people in Calgary that we convinced to come up to Edmonton. Fuckin' aye Canada ... Fuckin' aye.

Tonight's show was fantastic ... Ed's moment during the Wasted Reprise was something I've only seen him do during Arc ... so much emotion shown. Pretty moving, honestly.

Consider myself lucky getting Wash for a second time ... always a stunner.

Congrats to fifthelement for getting front row, so happy for her and her rkcndy, good things for good people!

The thing about these Canadian shows, the band is having so much fun ... you gotta love when they are up there pouring their hearts into every song.

And to top it off, a stunner of a poster from EMEK ... finally, a show I'm at has a top top TOP notch poster.

ok, time for bed, a Canada trip wouldn't be complete if I didn't come stumbling back to my hotel at 2 am reeking of poutine and Molson ... bring on Vancouver!

I've been to an embarrassing number of pj shows, and the show tonite was one of the best I've seen outside of the alpine shows! Who would have thought it would be in my home town? Way to bring it edmonton pj fans! Had so much fun this week, met so many fun ppl at the shows, thanks to everyone. :)

  • This show had a great flow to it. It's hard to ask for a better opener than Wash/Why Go, and the opening lyrics fit nicely with the gloomy overcast day we had in Edmonton. The crowd was really intense from start to finish. Eddie almost seemed overwhelmed by it at one point and got a little emotional when talking about the band and his daughter's birthday. All this great emotional energy built up into a fantastic performance of Come Back. Mike played a long bluesy solo while Eddie casually walked around the stage with his guitar, stopping for a friendly chat with Jeff, then wandering over to Mike and talking with him, all the while Mike is effortlessly continuing to play this beautiful solo. They finished the song with the whole band playing their instruments with their backs to the crowd, and huddled around Matt. They just seemed so tight and together at that moment and it was exactly like Ed said a few songs earlier when he talked about how easy and good it feels to play together. That was a really memorable performance for me. Other than that, I thought the encores were a bit predictable, but the main set + Come Back still made this an excellent show.

I'll upload some more videos this weekend.

I brought a friend who was the quintessential "I like Pearl Jam" but only knows the first 2 records kind of guy. I was sure this would end up being the best concert he's been to. Sometime around 1/2 full I realized it was probably the best show I've ever seen. Highlights include "This ones for the collectors.." which set my hopes so high and met them by playing U, hearing both Down and Present Tense (both probs top 10 for me) in the same set after never hearing either live. Mark Arm teasing and finally kicking out the jams and Stone's mental RITFW solo. This show made me decide that 3 was great but I need 4, working on last minute Vancouver plans now...let us hope
