My response to this would actually be GOOD, I am 42 and have been going to concerts since I was 11 and let me tell you one thing, NO ONE @ concerts has ANY consideration for others anymore. I can not stand the fact also that most people @ shows are doing everything but listening to the music or watching the band. EVERY show I go to now the majority of the crowd is just holding up their freaking phone, PUT THE PHONES DOWN ALREADY!

Or if you insist on doing it do it for 30 seconds or a minute @ most, but most people don't do that, they hold their damn phones up for 10 minutes or more and when there are so many people doing this the people behind or around them have a hard time seeing what is going on. The other thing is that a LOT of bands and performers are starting to crack down on it, I seem to agree with them in this case, people should watch and listen to the damn show, not talk, text or film during the entire show/concert.
God bless + amen to that!
    Cheers.
'Cause you don't give blood and take it back again.
  • Unbelievable show Friday night, .... thanks Pearl Jam.

About the Iphone / camera thing,.. I agree , some take it way to far, guy in row front of me,...must have shot a 1000 pics from same location,...why I don't know.

That being said,..Pearl Jam has never discouraged fans taking pics or short vids. I attended Calgary and Edmonton,.. took one video at each,..am I a hypocrite ?...to some, maybe I guess.
Common sense goes a long way in this world. Can't tar everyone with the same brush.
Anyway, here is link to my video for Present Tense in Edmonton,... cut a little short by the Power-Trippin Security Guard on the floor.

  • At least one person has already commented the following two points, but I feel they bear repeating: Stone fucking rocks! At least in Calgary and in Edmonton, I thought that he was especially ON.

Also the bands interaction and connection with both the crowd and the other members of the band: good stuff!
    05/30/03 Van, 09/01/05 Gorge, 09/02/05 Van, 09/04/05 Cal, 09/05/05 Ed, 09/07/05 S'toon, 09/08/05 'Peg, 07/22&23/06 Gorge, 06/14/08 'Roo, 08/08/09 Cal, 09/21/11 Cal, 09/23/11 Ed, 12/02/13 Cal
  • Wow, what a show. The boys, especially, Mike were on fire. The best guitar playing I have seen or heard. Evenflow solo was the crazy, melodic, then manic, he didn't miss a note. The sound was loud, and the crowd was up for it, we never let up. You could see right from the start the band was on all cylanders and the crowd was going to go wherever the music took us. Thanks Canada for a rockin' night, thanks 10C for once again great seats, thanks PJ for another great show.
    All together now...
  • My favourite parts of the night? The emotion that Eddie was pouring out before Wasted Reprise; the fun that the band was having during Kick Out The Jams ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CE4KPp1F ... ata_player ); the energy that they had that wasn't there in Calgary two nights before; the crowd. Didn't get to see Baba O'Riley but at least I saw Rocking in the Free World (finally).
I just hope it doesn't take them another 6 years to come back.
  • I'll echo basically everything everyone else said positive about this show. It was my fifth, and I was pleasantly surprised at how into it the crowd was. Short of San Diego in '09 I don't think I've attended a show with a more involved crowd, actually. Which is kind of amazing for Edmonton: it's normally a bit of a reserved town and not exactly a hot-bed of Pearl Jam fans and Ten Club activity, but here's to being pleasantly surprised I suppose.

One mistake I made was in getting my tickets through Sonic (local radio station) rather than through the Ten Club. Wow, the people around us were just not into it at all. You could tell that they won their tickets or got them for free somehow, because they didn't show up for Mudhoney, and they sat (yes, I said SAT) through the entire show. I felt so mortified for them and kept hoping Eddie wouldn't look our way.
  • What a show! The talent and raw emotion of these guys in person is something that never ceases to amaze me. Lucked out and won front row lottery tix through the fan club. THANKS 10C and PJ. What a show!!!! EMEK did the poster too....when I showed up I was like how much better could this get.....THEN I saw the EMEK posters.....sweet jesus......FIRST ROW!!!!! My girl even touched Ed....I have a suspicious feeling when we made sweet love that night she wasnt thinking about me......shes pregnant and during my favourite song Black, the litle fella was moving around BUT just during that song....funny :D

Contrats on the lottery win and on your little one! Very cool for you both. Sorry we didn't see you, but it was a great concert for sure and so glad we were there. :)

I don't really take video nor pictures during concerts, I know alot of people will be doing it and will have better quality ones. I would rather enjoy the show, like every minute of it...heh

you too wolf. wish`d I coulda made the preparty but I had a hell of a week of traveling, my girlfriend lives in Peace River. we had an ultrasound there at 1pm the day of the concert. That Wednesday I drove down from Peace River to Calgary to sell my 16th row tix to a 10C member for face plus gas (38) then turned around and went back to Edmonton....I didnt want to do it but couldnt afford both Edmonton and Calgary.
Then On Thursday night I drove back to Peace River, had my babys ultrasound there Friday at 1pm (healthy and happy) then turned around, drove back to Edmonton and just made the concert. That doesnt even include my travelling earlier in the week. It was all worth it when I showed up and I saw EMEK and Row 1 :D

  • 13th show for me. Even though I live in Calgary, I have to say that the Edmonton show was the better of the two. The set list kicked ass... I mean, Present Tense?! Woo hoo!

Did anyone get lucky enough to purchase one of the holographic posters? The guy in front of my husband and I bought two and one of them was normal, the other was on holographic paper. Had there have been a "1 poster per customer" policy, that holographic poster would have been ours. We buy (one) poster at every show so I was a little miffed at the close call. Having said that, I hadn't even heard about these super limited edition prints before. I wonder how much they're worth...
Makes much more sense to live in the Present Tense.

    Shows: 05/30/03, 09/02/05, 09/04/05, 09/05/05, 09/24/05, 09/25/05, 07/22/06, 04/02/08 (EV solo), 08/08/09, 08/23/09, 08/24/09, 09/25/09, 09/21/11, 09/23/11, /9/30/12, 12/02/13... many more to come!
  • The Edmonton Show was amazing the crowd was great and a very good setlist

It was one of the best shows, for me all starts with poster and you just couldn't get any better then Emek this time...by far the best one on the tour and probably IMO best poster in years.
Then we had WASH as opener, that for me was enough to be the great show, Marker In The Sand, U, Come Back... just awesome set list, I got to drink Ed's wine too at the end of the show, what else you can ask for it ;)
CAN'T KEEP CRAZY MARY IN MY TREE NO WAY NOT FOR YOU. ALL THOSE YESTERDAY JEREMY is ALONE, SAD with RATS & BUGS it's HARD TO IMAGINE a JEREMY a BETTER MAN.

By the way, does anyone know what was happening during Come Back last night? There seemed to be some confusion in the band.

Yeah, that was funny as shit. I was 2nd row Mike's side (first time that close) and about 30 seconds into Come Back, Jeff asked Mike, "what key are we in?". Stone was cracking up and Ed was laughing and giving Jeff strange looks the rest of the song. It was hilarious.
Anyone buy the boot yet? Come Back isn't on it! Or am I on glue?
  • You're right... 29 song set, but only 28 on album.
    Totally forgot about that song
