If only they played Sonic Reducer like it stated on the original set list.

that said, I think this was my favorite of the 3 shows I attended, baaaaaarely edging out Edmonton ever so slightly.

I have to agree though Edmonton and Saskatoon both kicked some serious ass!

And there was a young fella in front of us with his dad that had a sign saying "mike mcready would you be my buitar teacher" or something to that effect and Stone saw it and smiled, and I think Jeff pointed it out to Mike cause he saw it and made sure that the kid saw that he knew. Such great guys in this band, makes a person want to buy em all a round!

My apologies as I am really bad with remembering names, but he has had the same sign since V-Fest in Cgy in 09. I was talking to him and his family (younger sister and both parents were there too) and told him that I remembered seeing them from that show. He said that when they went to Van that year, Mike pointed to him and smiled when he saw the sign again. And of course he had it with him in Cgy on the 21st too! I hope I have correctly told the part of the story that I know of, if he's reading this, please correct me if I have mistaken anything.

I saw the dad and the boy holding up the same sign in Edmonton last Friday (Sept 23). Again when Mike saw the sign, he pointed to the boy. It would be nice if he can get his wish granted.

    I am
    RIGHT THERE WITH YOU
    regarding 'Sonic Reducer;'
how ridiculously awesome would it have been
    to hear that in Calgary?!

Nice to hear some love for Calgary too.
It seems to me that many people claim
Edmonton to be the "better" show.
I think I felt the energy more in Calgary,
    but of course,
    I had the benefit of floor seats at the 'Dome;
row 4 off the floor at Rexall.

    Cheers.
'Cause you don't give blood and take it back again.

I thought Rearviewmirror was excellent and Ed's emotion during the R.E.M song

The more I think back on it, the more I appreciate that moment and the fact I was there for it. That was an incredible cover.

That's how I feel about Chloe/Crown of Thorns in Toronto.

I loved it at the time, but the more time passes, I appreciate it more. It was stunningly beautiful. I'm happy that you guys got a similar moment in Calgary.

So Calgary was my 7th show and spectacular as won the lottery with my friend Niko from Croatia. Front row front of Ed. magnificent set. I was lucky enough to have a friend from calgary who gave me his flames jersey with Vedder number ten on the back to throw to ed. He caught it and draped it on his back to a loud roar from the hometown fans. terrific night that i wont forget. Also a pick from Mcready. Whoot Whoot. Saskatoon and edmonton were also magnificent. Niko who flew from croatia to see the western part of the tour had it much better than i as he won the lottery again in edmonton front row and got to drink wine with eddie and also got one of the collector posters. :o I hope you have a great time in Vancouver friends! Niko 20 shows, Brownie 50 shows, Gordon and Ana 8 and 9 shows. Take care of that ankle gordon. Maybe one of you will win the lottery again.......its been that kind of week. KORINTFW

Gordan: Hey there! Didn't see your post before. Calgary and Edmonton were great and we enjoyed Vancouver so much. No luck with the lottery but we got something even better: did you see the Vancouver setlist? Did you see Ed taking note of our Zagreb Remembers banner? That was so 8-) and Niko and Annie weren't aware of it until the post appeared in the forum after the show. Can you believe it? Man, we Croatians had such a great time in Canada and for a great part of that we have to thank you guys. And girls, too. :) Something to remember for years to come. Forever. :D

A nod to all the amazing Calgarians I met while up there in 2011 (and the others I've met since) ... stay safe ...

The weather has forced several communities in Calgary to evacuate due to severe flooding. According to Francis, the Saddledome has taken on so much water that the first 10 rows of the arena are submerged, as are the dressing rooms. Francis also reports that the jumbotron, the control room and all equipment inside of the arena has been destroyed by the water.
