I can't believe the Tigers are doing so well this season and nobody has started a thread...

Problem solved!

  • Great year, Verlander will win the Cy Young maybe even the MVP. Don't forget Papa Grande !!
  • I'll admit I was skeptical if they'd even make it to the post season again, after some of their early/mid season breakdowns. Verlander is a monster(as I have said before) and between Fister and Papa Grande I'll put our pitchers against any team. Not to mention V.Mart and Peralta helping out around Cabrera. They look like they have a strong shot at this to me! Gotta play the games, but I like our chances.

This was a good season for the Tigers...lets hope they build upon this season.

    I'd like to see...

    -Young back
-upgrade the 4th and 5th starters and if Sherz don't can't get his era down the upgrade him at 3 and drop him down.
    -a much better leadoff hitter
    -a little more bullpen depth
    -more speed

it's going to be an interesting year. have you seen pictures of cabrera as of late? he looks to be in great shape, alot of weight loss. not so sure about the move to third. we'll see what happens i guess. he has some experience from earlier in his career at third. looking forwrd to having boesch back. also looking forward to watching fister for the whole year. summer shandy at comerica, i can't wait! ect. ect.

going to be a great year indeed.. I hope Cabrera has lost weight and is committed to playing third.. He needs to be in good shape or he is going to get eaten alive over there. Plus, I hope Santiago gets a chance to be our main Second Baseman. I think his play at the end of the season last year more than earned him the right.. I also hope we get another solid Left-handed pitcher (I have been wishing this for a while) all in all, Leyland will make it work and I expect more post-season play this year..

With Fielder and Cabrera we should put up plenty of runs. I don't have a problem with Cabrera at 3rd. Inge is a great fielder but not a good bat any more. I see the top of the order as Jackson, Young, Cabrera, Fielder, Boesh...not sure about the back end of the line up.

with a rotating DH depending on opp. pitching, a line-up:

    1) Jackson CF
    2) Boesch RF
    3) Cabrera 3B
    4) Fielder 1B
    5) Young LF
    6) Rayburn DH
    7) Avila C
    8) Peralta SS
    9) Santiago 2B

Pretty potent.. considering you have a .300 hitter in the 7 and 8 spot

And Rayburn can play 2B or outfield (which can make me cringe at times) free-ing Young or Boesch at DH
And against Left-handed pitching, put Inge at third and let Cabrera DH..
And Don Kelly at third against right handed pitching when Cabrera needs a break from 3rd
Cabrera at 1st, Dh Fielder, and play Kelly or Inge at third

What a pleasant nightmare to consider our line-up :D .. the possibility for success seems endless! well, better than recent history anyway..

Not to mention the fact that Martinez is still gonna be back at some point. Not this year but can you imagine this same lineup with his bat in it too?

Cabrera looks like he's serious about this move to third. I'll take a little less mobility at the hot corner for the lineup Leyland has to work with.

I heard Valenti and Foster talking about Inge being on his way out...Don't think you can just let him go with that kind of money on the table though. Don't see many teams breakin' the door down for him either.
Dumbrowski also said that they have already sold more season tickets for the upcoming season than all of last year's season tickets combined....Awesome. I love seeing a full park down there. :D
    Gonna be a crazy season.

Chief...I think we'll see a lot of this in 2012...probably best 3-4 hitters in baseball...plus best starter in baseball and maybe best 1-2 starters (hope Fister was more precautionary).

Should be fun year...could win division by double digits.
