They'll veto it just like they vetoed International condemnation of Israel's settlement building in February of this year - http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2011/fe ... settlement

But after they veto the Palestinians bid for statehood today their position as supposed honest broker for peace in this conflict will henceforth be seen for exactly what it is, and always has been: a sham.

America's veto today will have the result of weakening it's role in any future negotiations. And in light of it's complete bias towards Israel and utter contempt for the rights of the Palestinians, that can only be a good thing. The fact is, the Israeli's control congress. The U.S is Israel's lapdog. And after today's events the whole World will see that clearly.

Seeing the Americans sit silent when most of the UN was cheering the speech by Abbas, say's tons, say's everything!

Let's say the U.S. backs Palestine in the U.N. vote and pulls every single troop out of the middle east by next Wednesday. Is there even a 1% chance that Al-Qaeda decides to call it a day? I think you know the answer to that question ...

If the U.S ceased meddling in the affairs of Middle Eastern countries, and ceased bankrolling Israel's ethnic cleansing campaign and land-grab then what reason would Al-Qaeda have to target America? When the French colonialists left Algeria the Algerians didn't continue attacking them. When the British ceded control of India the Indians didn't continue attacking them. And when was the last time any I.R.A bomb went off in England?

So, maybe they would stop attacking U.S interests. Who knows?

The Indians didn't have Vishnu commanding them to wage a holy war on Britain. And Algeria was a puppet of the U.S. according to everyone's comments on the Arab Spring threads. The Irish ... I think they just decided to get (more) drunk. ;)

Considering that the U.S. government is still taking crap for slavery and native american oppression in the 1800's, there is no way we are getting a pass for standing shoulder-to-shoulder with the Jews.

you should probably rephrase that to read "standing shoulder to shoulder with the israeli government"..

i know plenty of jewish people that i hang out with, drink beer with, and i support them because they are my friends. but they are not zionists and are much more moderate in their thinking towards the conflict. most of those guys and gals condemn the israeli government for what they are doing, especially the blockade and the illegal settlement expansions..

After reading your profile as training and participating in MMA, which is the most brutal (vial) sport today, your opinion means shit. Beating the hell out of somebody in a cage is barbaric. As I side note, I have trained in Wing Chun Kung Fu and laugh at you assholes. Get off your fucking soap box. Stop trying to show eveyrone how smart you are and just shut the fuck up!

to be honest with you, i have a masters degree and work in health care. i am not a stupid person. and i don't give a shit about your opinion of mma. to me it is a human chess match and i have never fought anyone out of anger. i respect my opponent and if i win, i win. if i lose, i lose. it can be brutal, but so can all combat sports. so i suggest you talk about the topic and not me. getting personal is a sign of having nothing of importance or relevent to say...

yeah that site has been around for awhile. it is designed to make americans aware of what is happening there. they are targeting americans because most of us know nothing about the subject and they assume (correctly i hope) that if everyday americans knew what was going on that we would be appalled enough to press our government officials to make the necessary changes to broker an honest and just peace. it is our policy to veto anything critical of israel at the UN, and if most americans knew what was being done in their name they would be angry as hell about it..
